About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. In July of 2014 Paul became a Steinway Educational partner. In 2008, Paul received a Masters Degree in piano performance from New York University. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

From a lot of experience with beginner piano students, both young and adults, I have been able to find a regimen of piano teaching that combines time efficiency with fun. While working with intermediate to advanced students, I have had coached them to apply and get accepted into some of the top Universities and Conservatories in the country. My students, beginner intermediate and advanced levels, have been awarded for their performances and activities in schools and competitions.
I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

I believe that progressive teaching must employ constructive pedagogical strategies to foster meaningful musical experiences for students to build and to exhibit competence. Fay is such an amazing teacher! I got into Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School thanks to her. Best Teacher I've had, she helps train your voice and goes through the vocal anatomy so you understand techniques such as proper breathing, posture, coordination, grounding, acting, diction...etc. I've been her student for about a year three years now and I have to say that my voice has improved so much as a performer all thanks to her! I teach my students how to extend their range, increase breath control and the freedom of their body in order to enable a free and easy produced vocal tone. I teach song repertoire to the student's particular musical style choices. I also work with students that wish to write their own songs so that their musical ideas can be heard clearly and precisely. A guitar is available for students if they wish to use it to accompany themselves. I teach my students how to deal with performance anxiety . Started working with Marjorie on a whim. It turned out to be one of the best spur of the moment decisions I've ever made. To start off, I had absolutely no background in singing. I do a lot of public speaking so wanted to work on my enunciation. So I decided to go the extreme and learn to sing. If you can sing in front of people, you have no problem enunciating.

Marjorie has a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced. One thing you can be certain about her is that she has a passion for teaching and loves teaching beginners. The commitment to help you improve is there. In my opinion, that is what you want in a teacher. I have the utmost confidence in recommending Marjorie to someone who is looking for a teacher.

Amber is a magnificent teacher. She has tons of experience, and can identify problems and resolve concerns instantaneously. She is not forceful and will gladly work in accordance with the preferred pace of the student. Overall she is incredibly knowledgable and if you work with her and adhere to her notes and suggestions you will notice immediate qualitative improvement.

I have worked professionally as a singer and actor for over twelve years, having performed on Broadway in Lincoln Center's Tony-winning Revival of "South Pacific" with Paulo Szot, Laura Osnes, and Danny Burstein and toured the country with Rob McClure and Anika Larson in the First National Tour of "Avenue Q." I have an MFA in Performing Arts from Savannah College of Art and Design, graduated summa cum laude, and was the only female recipient of the Presidential Scholarship for Vocal Performance. Rebecca is amazing! She is super patient, a great listener and an amazing artist. She totally guides the lesson to what you want while focusing on your strengths and showing you how to focus on your best skills. I recommend her wholeheartedly!

I absolutely love Becca! She is so encouraging and knowledgeable. I recently got cast in a musical and I was pretty nervous. I found Rebecca and after our first lesson I knew it was a great fit. She made me feel so comfortable and I think, we accomplished a lot in just the first lesson! I strongly recommend her to anyone who is either starting out or has some experience.

I am a professionally trained opera/classical singer, and I LOVE to teach. I have more than 5 years of teaching experience working with students of all ages and levels in both New York and Los Angeles. I love bringing the gift of music to everyone, and truly believe that music heals and brings happiness to all who partake in their own musical journey. I also bring with me 5 years of experience working for an opera company in Los Angeles where I managed the education and community engagement department. Through this opportunity I was able to work with diverse groups of students to teach them about music.

My teaching technique focuses on giving my students the proper tools and techniques that they need in order to build their instrument and preserve their voice for longevity. I have a Bachelors degree in Music: Voice Performance and a Ma
sters degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy. I have also taken several seminars on vocal health and development.

In addition to singing I also teach beginning to intermediate piano lessons. I have been playing the piano for many years. In fact it was my first instrument! I find that the piano is a wonderful way for students of all ages to really understand music as a language while learning an instrument simultaneously. I have a wonderful method and book that I use which I have found to be incredibly effective. I also teach and work with my students on their aural skills, pitch development and recall, music theory, and diction.

My son Alexander was in 6th grade when he began to receive lessons from Amanda. She was able to get my son ready within 3 months for his audition to the Orange County School of the Arts. Thanks to her dedication and professionalism and my son's perseverance, he was accepted to the Classical Voice conservatory. She continued visiting our home on a weekly basis for four years. Amanda was always prepared with lessons which she pulled from music books that were appropriate for his age. She tailored his singing lessons in conjunction with his conservatory expectations. When Alexander was in 9th grade, she provided piano lessons as well. With piano lessons, he was able to practice his songs with more feasibility. It is with great admiration and respect that I highly recommend Amanda as a classical voice and piano teacher for she is an example of great talent and inspiration for the youth.

Amanda is not just an outstandingly talented singer (seriously) but also a gifted and inspiring teacher. As a beginner, I had no idea what to expect from my lessons, but she blew me away with her warm, fun, professional approach to singing. Her magic is that she is equally a scientist and an artist. She is a singing expert at the highest level, and she knows how to guide your technique with laser-focused, detailed feedback. When she is explaining abstract concepts, she does a marvelous job of breaking them down into understandable and concrete tasks for practice. Most importantly, she prioritizes healthy technique and you can trust her to protect the longevity of your voice. After singing with her for a little over a year, for the first time I have discovered my voice's natural, free vibrato, and I truly enjoy hearing what my own recorded voice sounds like. I use a very effective but unique vocal technique that is based on how the Italian's sing. They believe in "cantare come si parla" - or sing as you speak. It uses a lot of speaking on pitches, engages the neurological parts of the brain but it's fun! Most importantly, the technique can adapt to whatever style of music you want to sing. So, this makes the lessons fun and enjoyable!

Sarah Childers (Mezzo-soprano) is an American, Mississippi born opera singer. She is a diverse singer performing repertoire ranging from musical theater, contemporary music, opera and operetta. Miss Childers recently participated in the Savannah Voice Festival as a studio artist with the Sherrill Milnes Voice Experience. Some of Miss Childers’s performance credits include Rusalka (2nd Wood Sprite), Mikado (Peep- Beau), Pirates of Penzance (Edith), Die Zauberflöte (third boy), Hansel and Gretel (Hansel), Suor Angelica (Infermiera), The Little Prince (Rose). Contemporary music premiers include Derek Cooper’s cantata What If?(Mary) and three art song premiers in a recital “Love, War, and Song” and John Taylor Thomas’s O Pioneers! (Marie Shabata). Miss Childers received her Masters of Music in Voice Performance at Manhattan School of Music.
