My goal as a teacher is to give you the facility to express yourself through music. The key parts to developing this facility are:

1. theory -- if you know your theory, you know the best way to express your idea without having to think about it
2. technique -- the last thing you want is for your technique to hinder your ability to express your idea. Having good technique lets your ideas flow naturally

When you take lessons with me, you get out of it what you put in. Your job as student is to be honest with what you expect to achieve and my job as teacher is to give you the tools to achieve it

About David

I am a bass player first, not a guitarist who also teaches bass. Students will learn technique, theory and groove from a teacher who understands that as bass players, we are in a unique position. Since bass is both a harmony and rhythm instrument we have the opportunity to develop into leaders in

David was very patient and thorough with the introductory lesson. He corrected some basic habits my son had and had him sounding better in 10 minutes.

He also had practical recommendations for daily practice.

I highly recommend David.

David went over basic music theory and rhythm with me, and corrected some technique issues. He explained things clearly and when we put some of it into practice in the final minutes I saw instant results. Absolutely excited to do my homework and for my next lesson.
Robert F.
As a beginning, self-taught bass player of four months, I wanted to find a teacher who could analyze and critique my playing. I scheduled five lessons with David over a time period of three months. David was instrumental in analyzing and critiquing bad techniques and habits I acquired. He very thoroughly emphasized proper fretting technique and finger positioning; exercises were given that helped me obtain full tonal quality and efficient fretboard navigation skills. We also reviewed basic theory, scale modes, rhythmic weight, pentatonics and arpeggios; seminal knowledge for the beginner.

A technical type player, David has excellent playing skills as well as a comprehensive knowledge of theory and its practical application. He is a good listener and showed a genuine interest in helping me achieve my goals. I definitely can see an improvement in my playing skills....playing more confidently and efficiently.

Highly recommended.......

Jennifer is great with my high-energy seven-year-old. She's very patient and she is able to make him engage. She also takes the skills he's learned in his music class in school, and builds his skills lessons around his abilities. Finally, she gives homework in a notebook that is clear and measurable, so he knows exactly what to do on his own throughout the week.

To play off what Chaz said, I'm a recovering trumpet player who initially tried my hand at the guitar about 5 years ago. Corey quickly figured out that my talent and background were better suited to the bass. There's been no turning back. Corey's a great teacher! He's always patient, he makes you work, and you enjoy the process. I'd give him more than 5 stars if I could!!

I have wanted to play Banjo for years. Ive taken a few lessons here and there and something seemed to always get in the way. I never got very far at all other than wasting time. I started my lessons with Take Lessons 3 weeks ago. Being a novus I was kinda weary about how long it was going to take me to learn just a basic song and was nervous about being too slow and yada yada yada. I was nervous. When my 1st lesson started with Eric I felt very comfortable. There was no rush and he explained how to correct every mistake I made. (a bunch) and now by my 3rd lesson I can actually play a SONG!! Its slow mind you but its a song! Eric gives me tips on how to practice correctly and gives me assignments for the week which I love. I can practice on my own terms through the week and then come into my lesson, show what I have learned, get great lessons on how to improve and then pick up new material for the coming week. I love it!! Its lessons in my own home, no gas, no crowds and Eric is awesome. I plan on getting more and more lessons fo sho!! Thanks Eric!!
Gary
Outstanding first session. Eric is patient and clear with explanations. He is able to help me feel motivated and confident with working towards my goals.
