Private Blues Guitar Teacher
An experienced guitar player of 13 years. Especially good with beginners including both very young and older students. It's never too early or late to start playing! Will cater a specific personal lesson plan to your desires to make sure we move at YOUR best pace. We'll build a solid foundation so that you can learn how to teach yourself and continue to grow and love music long after these lessons. We can get you up and running with your favorite tunes or start delving into the musical theory side of things. I make sure that our lessons are fun but also challenging and I make sure we spend some time learning how to build finger strength, how to improvise, and (most importantly) how to play with other musicians!

I guarantee that within 4 lessons, we will be playing full songs together. I am an experienced teacher of 5 years. I teach guitar, piano, and ukulele. I began my teaching career at Guitar Center in Dallas, successfully teaching over 30 students weekly. All students are encouraged to be the best musicians they can. I have a strong growth mentality that gives students the motivation to learn. Students are then given tools to succeed. I have formulated my own teaching style to make learning music easier. I am comfortable teaching all ages and levels of knowledge. Lessons are tailored to the goals of each student. Together, we will be building an understanding of note reading, technique, music theory, ear training, and sight reading. You will learn, but we will have fun.
About Michael
Michael is very extroverted and laid back. All of his students have been very comfortable as he uses encouragement to drive the interest in learning an instrument. I learned music theory, jazz standards, improvisation, fingerstyle techniques, how to play and sing at the same time, and how to write and record my own songs. He inspired me to take on piano as a second instrument, initially through him but eventually through classically trained instructor.
What started as basic guitar lessons for a potential hobby turned into my tiny apartment becoming cluttered with musical instruments and audio recording equipment. For this I only have Eric to thank."

Are you Looking for a dedicated Musican, one who loves the craft, will instill that passion into you, then I’d recommend Paul.. the raw skills Paul taught me, reading music, playing scales, learning songs, and stepping out of the closet and playing live has been awesomely executed.. Paul is family now.. I’d recommend him absolutely... give him a try, I think you’ll enjoy music more than ever at the hands of Paul.."

I was self-teaching for about a year before I came to Ahmad. It worked out just fine. I learned something. But I started to get confused at a point where I don't know how to move forward. I like a very specific group of guitarist (mostly Japanese fingerstyle players). And I wanted to learn how to master songs from those guitarist. And there is no such website or book that would teach me how to do that. Most of the guitar books or websites either give out general informations or put all information together as a mess.
Finally I decided to find a teacher. I found the lesson with Ahmad pretty effective. He is an experienced teacher who knows what you need to learn in order to achieve your goal. He has plenty of handouts that really helps me practice. The most important thing I learned from him is the big picture of guitar learning. For example, I learned the connection between scales and chords, why/how to improvise with these, how to go from there to other relevant things, etc.
When I look back over a year, I realize I have wasted some much time and effort trying to teach myself and wish it could have similar outcome as having a good teacher. Studying with Ahmad saves me so much time and effort (because it's actually easier!)"
