I am a professional percussionist. I have been teaching private lessons since 2010 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home or in my home studio, and online.I have helped my students to learn how to read music, obtain good hand posture, develop their technique and musicality.
I received Bachelors of Music in Percussion performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University in 2015. Currently, I'm pursuing Masters Degree in Percussion Performance at the DePaul School of Music. I look forward to helping my new students achieve their goals.
Beginner students will learn how to read music, how to properly hold drum sticks, learn basic strokes, drumming techniques, beginning rudiments.
Intermediate and advanced students will learn how to improve their playing technique and virtuosity. They will also learn how to approach a specific piece of music; how to become expressive and creative with their skills.

In these lessons our focus is mainly on hand drumming, teaching the student techniques and styles for various styles of hand drums from around the world including; Cajon, Bongos, Congas, Djembe, etc...

- Develop good time keeping skills by playing with a metronome or click track or all ready recorded music
- Study basic hand strokes specific to the student’s type of drum
- Learn proper hand position
- Gain knowledge of the origins and history of various types of hand drums
- Play and read rhythms specific to the student’s type of drum
- Learn the proper way to hold and position drums

I have a B.M. and M.M. from Manhattan School of Music and have 10+ years of private teaching experience. I’ve taught percussion classes at public, private, and charter schools and also have conducted jazz masterclasses at various universities around the country. My students have been regularly chosen for prestigious ensembles such as Jazz at Lincoln Center’s student ensembles, Manhattan School of Music pre-college and summer camp, and Columbia University’s jazz ensembles.

I can teach you advanced drumming techniques on a drum set. How to keep time, rudiments, reading drum notation, and how to let loose. Double Bass not a problem.
