Electric bass has been an obsession of mine for many years. It was my first instrument, and it is certainly one of my favorites.

It is my philosophy that learning and playing an instrument should be an enjoyable experience, and it is my goal to spark a love of music in all my students. I will have you playing in no time, and will also teach you the theory behind music that is so essential for any musician to understand.

About Sean

Hello! My name is Sean H, and I am very passionate about helping my students accomplish their musical goals. I have been teaching for over six years and also have extensive experience as a performer. I have received several musical awards, including the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award and ha

Sean was really on the spot with us. I am a beginning strings instructor, and my son didn't want to take lessons from anyone but me. Not only did Sean win me over with his pedagogy, but he won my son over as well.

I've been playing and performing on Bass for nearly twenty years. I play a multitude of different styles and genres, including rock, country, r&b, jazz, blues, metal, funk, motown, and many others.

My teaching approach is relatively simple; I work to empower you to approach and play your own instrument through rhythm, moderate music theory, as well as fretboard theory and picking/plucking styles. I also like to do practical application studies, i.e., using songs you're interested in learning to apply new techniques.

Most importantly, we progress at your pace and yours alone. If you're a beginner and want to learn to play like Victor Wooten, or just want to strengthen your chart reading abilities, those are a few of the things I am available to teach.

About Tyler

Hi, I'm Tyler! Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, I am the son of a band director. That being said, I have literally been involved in music since I was an infant! I played trombone, bass trombone, and bass guitar all the way through high school, and went to New Mexico State University where I

I feel like I learned a lot in an hour and he really helped me find an anchor point that I can go back to if I am stuck on a note. I realized that he went over every proven method that I learned throughout my experiences from elementary school to highschool and then added on to them by explaining how these methods help. He even showed me methods usually taught to college musicians.

The reason I always believed in private lessons is because no matter how few or how many you take, the learning process gets expedited immensely.

I definitely would recommend this teacher for learning a brass instrument.

Mr. Sylvester is one of the greatest. He is not just an amazing guitarist, but he is also very kind. He treats people with so much respect. He speaks to me and my mom so nicely. He is very patient. He has a deep knowledge of music and knows how to get the most out of even the least talented people (like me!). He doesn't ever get mad if you make a mistake or forget to bring your music notes. We were so lucky to find Mr. Sylvester.

Mark is a talented musician who plays and teaches multiple stringed instruments. His lessons are always informative and supportive. They are driven by the student’s interest, so anything you want o learn— styles of music, how to do a particular technique, music theory— you can bring to class. And every now and then he organizes a recital— terrifying but great practice!

"We were so lucky to have been referred to Tommy. Our middle school son wanted to branch out from playing the upright/classic bass, to electric bass and acoustic guitar. Tommy worked with our son for nearly 2 years. Tommy was always reliable, always prompt, always polite and 100% committed to the music and to our son's personal progress & improvement. He was always flexible, upbeat and easy to work with...with the patience of a saint...esp. for the parent who knows nothing about guitar. A huge talent!"

"Tommy is a unique teacher in that he knows his craft very well and he also wants to teach it. He has tremendous empathy and patience and I grew as a musician under his leadership.
Tommy taught me bass for about a year and in that time I learned more about my bass and amps, how to play better and read and interpret music better, how to play better with others and even music theory (especially as it relates to bass playing).
And I thought I was just going to get bass lessons!!"

"There are musicians who teach on the side, but Calvin is not only a talented musician, but has a real talent for teaching as well. He tailor-made the lessons towards the skills I wanted to develop. He knows how to direct the student to just the right practice method to improve on a particular skill. Calvin is patient, positive, and encouraging, and takes the time to explain anything the student does not understand. Overall, Calvin is a great music teacher who truly cares about his students learning their instrument. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Calvin to anyone."
