Don was wonderful with our son Brett, who enjoyed his first lesson immensely. We are definitely in this for the long haul with Don! He was very patient and very attentive to Brett.

Had a great first lesson with Don. I believe I will progress nicely under his tutelage. Already have a lot to work on.

Years ago I took Guitar Lessons at a local music store ( a very prominent one) as a raw beginner and quickly became frustrated with my lack of progress. Although my teacher was a great player and "very hot" to look at I soon began to feel like I was merely his "practice dummy."... I'd play the chords he showed me, endlessly,... while he seemed to be just practicing his solo playing. ... I then tried On-Line Lessons from various sites which were actually even less helpful and soon just lost interest completely.
A friend of mine said she had taken lessons from a Don DeBold for about 5 years before going off to college and highly recommended him.
I've now been taking lessons from Don for almost 2 years and having a blast ! I've learned how to play along with most of my favorite songs (mainly Blues and Rock) and now I'm learning to play Solo Guitar that needs no accompaniment !
Unlike my first teacher, during many lessons Don barely plays or even has his Strat on his lap because he's busy concentrating on what I'm doing !
He's a stickler yet lots of fun at the same time> I super recommend him as a Guitar and Music Teacher !!! Aneiah J.

About Richard

I have studied, performed and taught music for over 30 years. Accordion was my first instrument at age 7 which was a great introduction to the keyboard, melody and harmony. That was followed by guitar and other stringed instruments (Banjo, Ukulele) as well as drums. I studied with great teachers

Jonathan is truly outstanding. I was fortunate enough to meet him and begin working on guitar again with him in person when he lived in Virginia. He was so helpful I have continued lessons online and I continue to feel the quality and what I'm getting out of the lessons is as good as when we were able to be in the same room. The best thing I can probably say is that I have really enjoyed learning from such an accomplished musician while never feeling intimidated or thinking, "he must think I really stink at this!" He's very supportive and will make you a better player...whatever that means to you.

Flamenco Guitar:
A style of playing that uses a classical guitar which has nylon strings instead of steel strings. The techniques are a bit different, but all the same knowledge of learning a basic guitar are incorporated. The student would learn the basic of tuning, finger techniques/placement, notes, strumming, picking, reading, and playing songs. Advanced students would learn theory and soloing.

Karen is an incredibly skillful teacher. She is very passionate about music and it easy to be comfortable with her. She shares her training and knowledge very clearly. The vocal exercises seem very unique and holistic for body and voice health. She is very encouraging, caring, and soul-uplifting. I feel like I have a new connection with my voice and all that is connected to using it... as an instrument and the journey is only just starting. 45 minutes went by so fast. I am looking forward to my next lessons.

I thought I wanted to take viola lessons. Then I read her website and I realized that she might be able to help me get my voice back! I thought there was no hope ever. She has been extremely generous with her time, and I haven't seen her yet, but I'm not buying the viola I was planning on buying. I play cello, and piano still, but I am going to see if she can help me with my voice. She sounds incredible. I never dreamed that I could even have HOPE like this!

"My son Robert has been taking guitar lessons with Diego for over a year now. Lessons were taking place at Diego's premises until we moved back to our country. Robert totally refused to work, or even consider the possibility to work with any other teacher besides Diego. Ever since our return, Robert has been taking his weekly lessons over Skype.

Diego is professional, talented, deligent, patient, caring, well prepared, well knowledged, knows how to prepare and challenge his students and most importantly, puts his students interests first.

There are no words I can use to explain the joy my son has when he takes his lessons and when he finishes and performs one of Diego's flamenco pieces, nor can I explain his anxiety when waiting for his lesson to begin. Diego is truly a great teacher and mentor to his students and I strongly recommend him to be the guitar teacher of choice."

"First lesson: Was/am having difficulty with a particular rasqueado technique. Diego “dissected” my motion indicating proper methods for better finger placement and hand positioning.
Accompanying this was a video of our lesson for my reference and an informative blog note pertaining to the art of practice.
Throughout all Diego had a courteous manner, was receptive of my questions and gave me notes by email about what we had discussed along with practice suggestions. Look forward to continuing with him.

"I've taken about 10 flamenco (and some bossa nova) guitar lessons with Guilherme so far. I had taken flamenco lessons in the past with other instructors, but this is the first time I've actually made progress. He's done a great job of creating a lesson plan and teaching a very technical style, while keeping it fun and exciting. I really look forward to my lessons every week, which is a credit to Guilherme's ability to balance method with fun. If you're at all interested in latin styles or jazz, I very highly recommend Guilherme!"

"I had a wonderful experience studying flamenco guitar with Edward and would highly recommend him to anyone. I came to Edward with a very specific problem of trying to learn the rasgueado technique in Flamenco. After spending the better part of a year attempting to learn via Youtube videos, etc., but to no real avail, I knew it was time to find a one-on-one teacher. Edward was experienced, patient, a great communicator, and made me feel comfortable during the lessons. He very thoroughly taught the technique and chose songs for me to practice that would help me to slowly build this ability. When I mentioned a particular song that I was interested in learning, he spent hours in his off time doing a transcription of it for me. A great guy and a great teacher!"
