I learned to play traditional Irish music during my guitar studies at UCF. I also learned to play bodhran and tin whistle, both of which I"m happy to teach to the novice player.

Experienced Music teacher of 8 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of their instrument and theory skills. I specialize in all styles. Typically, I use a variety of method books to pick from to meet the needs of the students. I also have many tools available to use during lessons.
My students have gone on to NYSSMA and on to college auditions successfully!

You will learn to play the simplest Melody from Mary had a Little Lamb two a complex jig like Irish washerwoman. My goal is to get you to play with any other accompaniment instrument so you can travel and jam in any setting.

Often looked at as an instrument for children, the tin whistle is actually a wonderful fun instrument to play! Whether a jig, reel, hornpipe or slow-air, the tin whistle fits into any Celtic ensemble! I can teach you the basics, and when you're ready we can learn more complex tunes and traditional Irish ornamentation as well!

Tin whistle is a wonderful instrument, with rich cultural ties to Ireland. I studied abroad in Ireland to learn Irish music. I've had 2 very adept whistle teachers who imparted great technique and great love for the instrument. With tin whistle lessons, I focus on fingering, breath control, ornaments, style, and phrasing. I teach tunes, and encourage students to play along to recordings or with friends.
