My son takes piano from Amber and I cannot say enough on how talented she is. She has so much patience and cares about her students. He responds well to her and is learning so quickly! She challenges him to continue to grow but does it in a way that is fun for a child his age. We think she is great!

As an experienced trombonist, I understand the needs of students and I can cater to their goals and aspirations. Lessons with me will be focused on what the student needs to get to the level of playing they desire. In the first few weeks or so, you will develop a decent sound, articulations, and be able to read music clearly as well as have a solid beginning understanding of music theory. If you're interested, feel free to message!

About Samuel
I am a trombonist studying music performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), and I graduated from the selective high school program at UNCSA with a diploma in trombone. I am currently a trombonist with the Mediterranean Opera Studio in Caltagirone, Sicily and will be a part of their 2017 season in July. At UNCSA I have had the incredible opportunity to play with many other accomplished musicians, as well as study with many fantastic trombone players around the world. Alongside playing tenor and bass trombone with the UNCSA Symphony Orchestra, UNCSA Wind Ensemble, and award winning UNCSA Jazz Band, I freelance throughout the year around Winston-Salem, NC playing gigs and brass quintet reach-out concerts for elementary and middle school students. Trombone is a significant part of my life and I encourage any s
tudent who loves to play to continue to play trombone whether they want to freelance, play in an orchestra, or simply make the trombone an important part of a rewarding musical life.

Where should I start?

I tried out a few teachers that I found throughout the Tulsa area. Saied's, Tulsa Guitar Shop, even all the way down in Bixby. But from the VERY FIRST lesson, I immediately knew it was a good fit with Ron. I only knew a few chords and felt embarrassed to show the "lack" of what I knew about guitar, but he was able to meet me right where I was at and help me to progress immediately.

After a year of lessons, I can play many different songs and I am still learning new things.

Ron is great. He gives my son input and definitely knows a lot about the Trombone. My son was having trouble learning one of the songs in band class, so Ron recorded a video of himself playing the song and sent it to me!! I couldn't believe how willing he is to go above and beyond to help my son succeed.

First off - Ron is incredibly patient. I think that's kind of essential to be a good teacher, but it definitely doesn't go unnoticed.

Presentable and Professional
As small as it is, I actually really appreciate the little details that he puts into making the experience great. Not only does he do a phenomenal job teaching, I immediately noticed the beautiful flowers and investments he puts into keeping his yard presentable. Again, I know it's small and kind of irrelevant to teaching.. but in my opinion, it's important.

Lastly, his home studio is so cute. He always has snacks and gum for me or my daughter. He even has a water dispenser for cold water. I really appreciate the thought he puts into making me and my daughter feel right at home.

I have been playing and teaching tuba (and low brass in general) for 25 years, through all genres and levels, and have a degree in Tuba Performance from the University of Florida. My lessons blend technique, theory, musicality, and performance, but at the heart of it all is a love for music in the student that drives everything.

About Jonathan
I am a tubist, pianist, composer, arranger, cellist, and recording artist, but my passion is tuba (well, really all low brass, but tuba the most). I have studied with some great teachers, including Dr. Gail Robertson, and hold a degree in Tuba Performance from the University of Florida.

I teach all levels and ages, middle school and up, in tuba, euphonium, trombone, and piano. For lessons I like to focus on technique, theory, musicality, and performance to provide the student the best education possible. At the heart of teaching though is a love and appreciation of music and the instrument in the student, which I aim to foster as best I can. I am versed in many genres of low brass music, and my favorite is Wind Ensemble pieces
