I specialize in MFA/BA acting school auditions. Standing in front of a panel of strangers and opening yourself up in a monologue is not exactly a joy ride. I have techniques that will make it possible to relax and even enjoy your pieces in the sterile setting of the audition room.

My lessons are a combination of voice, movement (Alexander technique), and text work. Being fully free to play, means your voice and body are fully free. I give technique work that will relax and loosen you within the lesson itself, and within the audition so that on the day you are grounded, level, and ready.

I recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, and I remember the stress, the excitement, and the process of auditioning well. I would love to pass on techniques that I learned at RADA that help to not only be calm, but also to enjoy each audition.

If you have any questions for me, I would be happy to chat with you over a tea/coffee before booking your first ...

My 9 yr. old daughter received singing lessons with Rachel. Rachel was SO wonderful, patient, and creative with every session with her. She was constantly coming up with different ways to keep her engaged and was always reassuring her to increase her confidence. She gave great constructive feedback on how my daughter was doing and what she can work on to improve. I give her 5 stars! Thanks so much, Rachel!

Overall, very impressed. She is direct and doesn't tell you something you want to hear. Her evaluation process is well rounded and planned. She puts together a great curriculum to know what to expect in the coming lessons. Very easy going person and makes you feel completely comfortable at the initial lessons.

Voice Acting is a very specialized part of the industry, because your voice is all you have to rely on, and every little sound, breath and thought counts! In these sessions we’ll go over how voice acting differs from on-camera acting, creating and sustaining characters and voices for animation or video games, the nuances of narration and audio books and general voice and microphone techniques. I’ll also give you tips on how to improve your vocal control and take care of your voice for optimal performance.

I’m so happy to have discovered Hunter. I was struggling so much when I first reached out to her, but very hesitant about talking to someone about my problems because I am so private and felt a little embarrassed that I couldn’t figure this out by myself, but she made it so easy. Hunter is really positive and intuitive and knows just the right questions to ask but without asking too much. She helped me get to the core of the issue and got to what I needed without ever feeling uncomfortable. Now, we’ve talked so much, it’s almost like talking to a close friend, but with no judgement and actually getting useful answers.

I started out just doing a few sessions because I was so nervous and wasn’t sure if this was going to work, but seriously, I’d say book 10 - you won’t regret it! We kept finding new levels and I almost can’t believe how much better I feel and how much my life has changed. I definitely recommend Hunter. She will help you change your life!
DeShawn
Hunter is such a fun, knowledgeable and supportive, coach! I read some other reviews before hiring her, saying that she really cares about you getting the part, and it’s so true! She has lots of valuable insights for uncovering your character and great technical advice for shooting. I book all of my self-tapes with her - we coach first and then she reads with me and is my scene partner while we record. I have booked 2 guest stars in the last 3 months since I started working with her. Highly recommend!
Mohan
Very good and detail oriented teacher. She can pick up the slightest little mistakes in the way you pronounce things and the way you speak and tell you how to correct them on the spot. Now I know how to move my mouth differently to make different sounds for the same word. Have been doing session twice a week for 4 months and my accent is completely gone! I thought it was going to take years. So happy and glad I met Hunter! Easy to work with and very encouraging.

David is very knowledgeable and gave my daughter such great advice and direction to work with. He broke down each line of her scene and the motivation behind it and took the extra time with her to make sure she understood everything and was delivering it naturally and effectively. He even spent extra time with her and didn’t finish the lesson until she fully got everything down. Very professional, fun, friendly and genuine. We’re so grateful we found him and she and I both look forward to her next lesson with him! We very highly recommend him!!

I remember being blown away after my very first lesson with Fawn. I learned more in that one lesson than I ever did in 6 months with my other vocal teacher here in NY. ONE LESSON! I thought it would slow down from there, but it hasn't! Every lesson I leave a bit better, a bit stronger, more knowledgable and it is exciting now to be a vocalist! I realize before all those years with other teachers I was a novelist. NOW I AM A BONAFIDE VOCALIST! I was also skeptical of online vs in person lessons, but Fawn doesn't skip a beat! I can't wait to continue growing on this journey with Fawn.

Introduction to Voice Acting: Books & Resources to Check Out

When it comes to the performing arts, voice acting attracts some of the most fiercely dedicated enthusiasts, despite the relative anonymity compared to acting on stage or on screen. In the old days, radio dramas were the most common inspiration for aspiring voice actors. Today, it’s animation. The key component of voice acting, even more than secrecy and seclusion, is versatility. An in-demand voice actor may be called upon to provide the pipes for a cartoon rabbit in a kid's show on Friday, …
