I want people to enjoy learning music and learn in a way that suits them the best. I understand that there are many different teaching styles, and based on what my student wants to achieve and how much they are willing to learn, I will adapt to their wants and needs. I also play the piano and the violin.

My favorite aspect of teaching is seeing each student progress! I started teaching at the age of 11 when my younger siblings began playing music, and I have coached chamber young chamber ensembles since I was 13. I customize each lesson, including style and teaching techniques, for each student. My goals are my student's goals. I'd love to hear from you!

I began playing violin at age 2 1/2. I started the viola in 2011/2012 and am currently pursuing a BM at The Juilliard School, studying with Misha Amory. I am a recipient of the Juilliard, C.V. Pedro is an excellent teacher. He's able to blend the technical aspects of playing with the artistry of the instrument. I've already learned a great deal from him in only five lessons.

I'm an adult student, but you can feel a comfort and relaxed atmosphere in the immediate presence of Pedro. This is such an important factor in learning an instrument. This feeling would serve to greatly help and child right on through adult learning. Good Job!

I strive to craft lessons which will give my students a wide base of skills on the violin, although we will be foremost concerned with having excellent technique and a great sound. Beyond that, I can teach you note reading, theory, composition/arranging, and improvisation. If you are interested in learning something other than classical violin, I also have extensive experience in bluegrass, old-time, and jazz fiddle, and can help you develop a unique voice on your instrument. Shoot me a message today to see if we'd be a good fit!

About Kyle

I am a professional violinist, violist, guitarist, pianist, composer, and educator. In addition to recording and touring with my own bands, I regularly arrange and record strings for artists and producers in a wide range of styles, from underground rappers to indie rock bands to grammy winning pop

I have worked with Martina at the Round Top Festival Institute in Texas. Her extensive technical training and a thorough understanding of musical styles is evident. She is a wonderful player who is equipped with the expertise needed to facilitate the growth of developing musicians. All students will benefit from her thoughtful approach to violin/viola playing."

"Kendra is an amazing viola teacher. Since this was my first online lesson ever, I was skeptical at first. However, Kendra's kindness and positive attitude assured me that I had made the right decision. She covers many aspects of both the technical parts of handling the viola, as well as perfecting intonation and handling a wide variety of styles of music. She also is attentive to specific needs, and accomodates for different paths depending on individual goals. Thanks for all you do for me Kendra!"

"We LOVE Susanna!
My son decided to play the viola, out of the blue (not for school, just for his own sake), so we went to TakeLessons to find him a teacher.
Susanna is so patient, and supportive. He has steadily increased his knowledge and abilities with her guidance.
My son always finishes his lesson and says, that was a really good lesson! Music to my mama ears!
We highly recommend Susanna!"
