I have practiced and studied calligraphy since 1991. I taught beginning to intermediate pointed pen script at the International Association of Master Penman annual convention in Louisville in 2017. My experience includes teaching at Sycamore Adult Education and the Greater Cincinnati Calligraphers Guild. I enjoy teaching and have a wealth of information and tips to pass on. Nothing beats having an experienced instructor to guide your hand in this beautiful art. Each letter has a secret and I can't keep a secret.

I have been a professional calligrapher for 7 years and have been teaching calligraphy for 5 years. During that time, I have provided services for over 250 weddings and special events.
Not only will you build a strong foundation for your calligraphy skills through our lessons together, but we can also discuss how to start and grow your own calligraphy business in advanced lessons.
In the beginner lessons, will go over the very basics, including supplies, dipping the pen in ink, pressure and flow, and basic letter forms. We will keep things as simple as possible as you learn to hold and maneuver the calligraphy pen.
In continued and more advanced lessons, we will add to your existing knowledge and skill level by working on different calligraphy styles, mediums, and supplies together.
With every one on one session together, the lessons will be catered to your skill level and your specific area of interest as these will change as you continue to practice on your own. I'm excited to ...

I provide instructional direction using templates and thin paper. I recommend dual brush markers made by Tomboy.

It is expected that the following tools are used:

Tomboy Dual Brush pens

Flat surface ie. Masonite board, wooden board or plastic sheet.

Stratford tracing paper.

Masking tape

Educated in Europe, I was always inspired by my teachers and travels to continue honing my artistic skills. With practice, anybody can develop their own style, and I believe it's my duty to pass on the knowledge that was instilled in me as a young artist.
Expression of one's soul in art may be sometimes stronger than words, something that psychologists have proven for years.
Practicing calligraphy is very rewarding in time but the most important tool is knowing the cursive letters of the alphabet. Or learning them with me.

I can teach you how to make money with Calligraphy and Hand Lettering.

I start out with nomenclature, then I go into the basics of composition, flourishes, tracking, and anatomy. Then I get into skeletal stroke order for Serif, Sans Serif and Script (focusing on whichever one the student wants), and I provide more in depth training in each specific style of interest.

I also can teach you hand lettering which is different from Calligraphy in that the rules are much looser and it is very stylized, and is a lot more fun.
