Lana is very nice and professional my daughter was very happy to learn from her:)
Jessica
A few years ago, I moved from Ohio to Florida and was concerned about finding a new piano teacher. To my disappointment, after trying two teachers, I was still left looking for a better one. That's when I had the pleasure of meeting Lana. Lana has reinforced my knowledge of music theory, challenged my technical skills, and most importantly improved my overall ability to play. Through Lana's various teaching techniques and exercises, I have never played better and or had more enthusiasm to keep learning!

Music arrangement is the house that is built from the foundation of a melody or chord. It is an important part of the structure of a piece and if someone can understand how different instruments and sounds have meaning, they can have a clearer understanding of how arrangement works. With this class, as with many of my other classes, I stress the importance of listening. The technical information will always be there to study, but only by hearing different arrangements and analyzing them (just as we do books and language) can we make the most of our creative abilities.

I am a professional pianist/keyboardist, songwriter, and recording artist. I graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Arts in Music & Technology and am pursuing my MFA as a Performer-Composer at CalArts in Valencia, CA. With my diverse background in both the technical

Great first class! Very patient with my son.
Manas
I've been a self-taught keyboard player for about 1-1.5 years and was able to play few of my favorite songs decently well. So naturally after I signed up for his class I was curious about how this will be able to take my abilities to the next level, especially in COVID times as I originally signed up for in-person class!

4-5 months in, I can confidently say that I'm loving him as my keyboard instructor! He personally encouraged me to practice using the music that I love, while blending it with his teaching to exactly point out on how one needs to approach these things. He's been really flexible in terms of scheduling during this time and that has also allowed me to come to class when I'm at 100%.

I don't know if my keyboard abilities are next level compared to when I started (it has improved), but I'm certainly enjoying this process!

"Excellent lesson. Only 30 minutes but by the end I was playing simple improvisations (on the piano) over a blues-pattern bass. I didn't believe I had it in me ("improvisation") but he definitely brought it out! He accompanied me on his guitar and we alternated playing the melody\bass on the piano\guitar several times. Quite a trip and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to my next lesson."

Mastering the Art of Zen Guitar

Billy Joel once said “I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everybody loves music.” Today, we encourage you to think about why you play the guitar.  Dreams of shredding on stage with Steve Vai aside, most musicians would cite the emotional connection to music as a big motivator. Guitar practice, after all, is like a form of meditation; think about it: there's a reason …
