Thank you for taking the time to view my profile- I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals. I'm excited to announce that I'm now available to teach via Online if you're outside of my teaching radius or are seeking a more convenient alternative.
I'm a professional guitarist with a background in jazz, heavy metal, blues, classical, and bossa nova. In 2006 I graduated from the Berklee College of Music and am lead guitarist for the Atlanta band Axis of Empires.
Whether you are a beginning guitarist or a seasoned professional, I can expand and enhance your playing in any direction you choose. I look forward to getting to know you as a student and learning about what course of study will bring out not only your understanding of music but a musical style that is unique to you.
Having a long time love of all music I hav
e always enjoyed discussing music and educating others on its many aspects. As such I began teaching during summers home from Berklee and found that it was something I had a great deal of talent for. Now, with seven years of teaching experience behind me, I look forward to bringing my skills and insights to students of all ages and bring not only ability on the guitar but a greater love of music to a fresh crop of open minds!!
In addition to guitar, I am also qualified to teach voice, public speaking, dramatic acting, and all aspects of music theory, the latter of which I incorporate into all of my music lessons.
A FEW THINGS TO BE AWARE OF:
1. I am able to take lessons in your home or over Skype. I am no longer accepting lessons in my home.
2. Please only pick one teacher. I don't know why people do this but on more than one occasion I've had students come to me and say "I'm doing lessons with you and this other guy. I figure I can learn different things from both of you." You only need one teacher- if that's not me, I understand.
3. I will NOT remove you as a client on Takelessons so that I can take money under the table from you directly. Sometimes clients will say "the lessons on Takelessons are expensive- is there any way I can just pay you directly?" No, you may not. The amount you are paying is MY specified fee from which Takelessons takes a commission so paying me directly would not save you money. Furthermore, I have a binding agreement with Takelessons not to do this. If you press me on this matter I will discontinue your lessons altogether.
4. Similarly, if you are coming to my profile on Takelessons do not contact me on Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media attempting to circumvent Takelessons. Please book through Takelessons and I will be happy to address any questions you may have.
*** Lesson Details *** Although I follow a specific lesson plan, its important to customize that to each student's skill level and specific needs. Thus, I will spend the first lesson evaluating where the student is in terms of overall musical awareness, existing skill on the instrument, and long term interest.
By the end of the first month, my beginning students will be able to perform basic chromatic and major scales, name the notes on the instrument, and have command of a few basic chords. With these core concepts and regular, committed practice, they will be able to learn and perform songs in a wide variety of styles after 3 to 6 months have passed.
My more advanced students will have a lesson plan customized to their specific goals and desires. In 3 to 6 months with such a student I will have them well on the path to accomplishing their long term goals, whether those be playing, composition, harmonic awareness, understanding of theory, or all of the above.
*** Studio Equipment *** dedicated music room; cables/amps; electric & acoustic guitars; keyboard
*** Travel Equipment *** Electric or acoustic guitar as needed.
*** Specialties *** Having graduated from the Berklee College of Music, I follow their approach in educating the student. In this regard I teach music theory along with the physical act of playing the guitar, which serves to not only enrich the experience for the student but demonstrate how what they are learning is applied to music on the whole.
I am fluent in many genres and specialize in rock, jazz, the blues, and various fusion genres. Because music functions off of the same principles regardless of genre, I can take whatever style the student might best appreciate and structure my lesson plan around it.
Jordan is very knowledgeable and a good teacher. You can find good guitar players that will show you how to play guitar, but Jordan is much more than that and can instruct even veteran players on how to improve their play.

Great Instruction for all levels
I am in my mid-thirties and have never had any formal musical instruction until I started taking lessons with Jordan a few months ago. I was a little nervous about starting the lessons, but Jordan made me very comfortable right away. You definitely can tell he knows music inside and out. He is also very helpful about incorporating just enough music theory into each lesson, so I can expand my knowledge of theory, but not so much that I get overwhelmed. I would definitely recommend Jordan to anyone looking for a great vocal or guitar instructor.
Hello everyone, I am Michael - I am currently in school at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY pursuing my doctoral degree in vocal performance and literature. I have sung all over the world in operas, musicals and with professional choirs. I enjoy teaching all levels of singing and love to inspire my students to reach their full potential. Singing should be fun and it can become even more exciting when the fundamentals start to fall into place. I am a casual but professional teacher and like to tailor my teaching to each one of my students. I like to make singing a very concrete and sensation based learning experience so students can rely on more than just their ears to guide themselves. Good singing is good singing, period - any genre ,any style... it all stems from the basics and setting up a strong foundation on which t
o build the voice.
American baritone Michael most recently performed the role of Lieutenant Audebert in Silent Night by Kevin Puts with Buffalo Opera in New York. Other recent credits include: Sam in Trouble in Tahiti by Leonard Bernstein at the Aspen Opera Center, Marcello in La Boheme by Puccini in San Diego, CA and Tom in Gershiwin’s, Blue Monday with Opera de Tijuana in Mexico. Michael will return to the Aspen Opera Center this summer to sing Frederick Egerman in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. Most recently on the concert stage he was the baritone soloist for the Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Vergine at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop and Haydn’s Seasons with the Eastman Philharmonia in Rochester, NY. In 2016 Michael received the second-place award in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Rossini Competition adjudicated by the famous Rossini tenor, Rockwell Blake. Michael is currently pursuing a doctorate in music performance and literature at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where in 2019 will sing the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Great teacher - funny, patient and understanding. I look forward to more lessons with Michael in the future!

I started lessons with Michael having done both contemporary voice and years of choir. But prior to training with Michael, I'd never really been coached as to how to properly sing in a classical style. He's allowed me to find an entire element of my voice I didn't know I had and made it incredibly straightforward to progress. I now absolutely love singing in a way I didn't previously think I would.

Michael is knowledgeable, funny, and thoughtful. I am a wind instrumentalist, and Michael tailored voice lessons to discuss topics specifically related to my areas of experience. I would highly recommend Michael for voice lessons!
Tamika was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a 2004 alum from The School for the Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) with a dual diploma in Creative Writing and Drama. Likewise, she is the youngest of three, and a first generation college graduate in her family from The Ohio State University. She received her B.A. in Communication Analysis and Practices and a double minor in Theater and Fashion Retail.
As a Theater minor she was a part of the following productions: Wine in the Wilderness and A Song for Coretta. She joined the Cincinnati Black Theater Company family in October 2012 and has had the privilege to be in Black Nativity, The Delaney Sisters and Shakin da Mess Outta Misery. Currently, she is working on a project that she hopes to be released by the beginning of 2016. Also, she is a member of many arts organization
in Cincinnati such as Elementz Youth Hip Hop Center, Bad Girl Ventures women entrepreneurship, Dress for Success and AmeriCorps to name a few.
This was my first time modeling in a show, and my overall experience was great. Tamika provided great feedback regarding walking, using modeling stance, posing, and how to have fun and interact with the audience. She chose awesome people to walk for her in the show, and we all got along really well. Tamika communicated professionally and respectfully to her models. She also provided all of the clothing for the show which was great because I did not have to come out of pocket to get additional clothing. I would suggest that she get an assistant to help her on the day of the show.

I loved working with Tamika always giving feedback and positive energy and pushing me to go further. The photoshoot was phenomenal i loved the locations and the scenery. I loved my wardrobe and had so much fun walking the runway. Tamika gives top notch coaching and i highly recommend her to anyone whether you’re just getting started or you want to sharpen your skills.

I'm a classical violinist, a loving single mother, and a independent business owner for life, health and accident insurance through AFLAC from New York. I am a very accomplished musician performing in many venues and events such as the Long Island String Festival, NYC All County Music Festivals, Valley stream District 13 Music Festival, NY All State Concert, NYSMMA Music competitions, and yes even Carnegie Hall with the NY Metropolitan Youth Principle Orchestra 1st Violin. Ive learned that nothing of value in life comes without blood sweat and tears but it is worth it.
The things I love most in life are my son and providing for our family. On week days, you'll usually find me prospecting potential clients to help with their benefits for employees in any type of weather, for my independent business through AFLAC. On the weekends I like
to take my son with my dogs (sometimes) to the park, museums, and church or teach him the various wonders of life.
Whether the focus of a session is on building a stellar repertoire of audition pieces, working on a difficult role, getting deeper into the language of Shakespeare, or song-as-monologue work for musical theater actors, my approach to private coaching is centered around meeting the needs of the client. My goal is to help you reach yours through the development of technique, confidence, and helpful tools you can use to further cultivate your talent outside of our sessions.
I had my first lesson with Emily yesterday and I loved it! She was easy to talk to and super nice. She also had great tips to give me and helped me a lot and it has only been one day. I really like the way she teaches and I would highly recommend her.

Emily is professional, fun and engaging. Our daughter looks forward to her time with her each week. We love her!
I work as a tutor and mentor in many of those fields for years. It was and is a side business, but I always enjoyed teaching. I am looking forward to move on with you and / or your kids. Have a great day, Marcel
Update 02/10/15: Takelessons is a great way to teach and a fantastic and easy way to learn for students. I currently have 3 students per week, with several hours. I really enjoy it, either online via Skype or Facetime or Live at the students place. Hit me up and let's move something together.
I learned a lot from Marcel and liked his vision of how to redo the garden. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we discussed how to improve it. He pulled out his iPad and made several garden sketches that were helpful. The original garden was cluttered with overlapping plants and we decided to remove several of them and re-"orchestrate" the remaining ones. (We only bought new plants if they were needed to realize the new garden vision.) He is also a very hard worker, helping me (physically) transplant and add plants as required. For example, we transplanted a 100+ (?) pound Sago palm across the front yard. I would never have done that on my own (too heavy for me) but together we did it! Highly recommended. Bill

Excellent teacher. We took a 20'x2' section of "dirt" in the back, redid the soil, transplanted a rose in that section, added two other new roses and a bunch of ground cover. Looks great! Recommended.

I did not actually take any lessons with him, but his schedule did not reflect what showed as available in Takelessons. He had a very bad attitude and would not actually schedule the lesson after several exchanges.
Hello! As someone who's worked professionally as an actor for over 17 years, I know first-hand how difficult it can be to find a coach you're comfortable with or who understands your particular process. No two actors are alike and what may work for one, may not work for another.
Meisner's technique was the one that has resonated deepest with me. The 2-year conservatory I graduated from taught his methods with a strong emphasis in the original precepts of Stanislavsky. However, before that I spent years studying Lee Strasberg, Uta Hagan, Boleslavsky and Michael Chekhov's methods. You could indeed say I've tried it all. I worked like a dog over a bone while studying and I know I'll never truly be done, which is also unbelievably exciting to me.
While my training is more theater-based, my experience is mainly in film + television. I
started working as a teenager and haven't stopped. My experience has also ranged from big budget movies (The Final Destination) to grittier, independent fare (Sugar Mountain). I have been the lead of every film I've done, save for one, which happened to be directed by my brilliant acting teacher, and I have worked with some of the most respected actors in the industry (Beau Bridges, Aidan Quinn, Jason Momoa, Rainn Wilson to name a few). I have had recurring guest stars on TV shows (Teen Wolf) and one episode arcs on others (The Librarians, Beauty and the Beast, Major Crimes). I also produce, write + direct my own films.
I love acting so much and I love people who are dedicated to becoming the best actors they can be. I have such a reverence for this art form, but recognize the importance of being irreverent while searching for a higher truth in a moment. I truly look forward to working + playing together to help you become a more truthful, confident actor!
Haley is absolutely fantastic! I look forward to our each session !
September 21, 2017
Haley is exactly what I need. Experience, easy to talk and answer questions. I have been an instructor for many years in the Music biz, but being a student now with Haley as my instructor seems a great pleasure. I feel I will learn much from her easy going approach. I look forward to many more lessons... Dino Maddalone

I worked with Haley multiple times as I was preparing a role and the insight she offered me really helped take my preparation to the next level. She worked with me until I felt completely confident and the work we did definitely paid off. I got great reviews and my director and other actors even commented on how advanced my work had become.
Jeff has performed lead roles with the Mississippi Opera, Belmont University Opera Theater, and was selected in 2018 to perform an American Premier in Nashville, TN of a South Korean Work accompanied by choir and orchestra. In 2014, Jeff was granted the opportunity to study at the Juilliard School through private instruction and later studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with performance emphasis in voice and piano. Jeff currently works with students from beginner to advanced levels in voice and piano. He specializes in jazz, musical theater, and classical styles of singing and is happy to cater needs to the individual student.
My kids adore Jeff! He does the most for his students and it really shows in their progress. Couldn’t recommend a better teacher.

I’ve learned so much from Jeff! He is an amazing singer/pianist. I’ve been through many teachers and Jeff is the one I have so much progress with!

My family moved to the U.S. from France 1 year ago. Mr. Jeff is able to conduct lessons for my children in French with no barrier. He is professional and my children remind me at the beginning of week for their weekend lesson days away. It is a highlight.
"I`ve been taking Shakespearean acting lesson with Michael for a month now and I am very satisfied with him and his method. Although, I have much of prior
acting experience, I was quite unfamiliar with Shakespeare´s plays, lofty language and his metaphors, Michael helped me get to the essence of it very quickly.
He´s a very reliable and effective acting teacher. He`s also punctual, always arrives on time with a plan of what we are hoping to achieve in each lesson. His clear and structured method of teaching enables steady progression. I definitely recommend him."
"Shauna is an amazing, transformational teacher. She has knowledge of a range of performance genres, styles and techniques, and is an extremely supportive

"I met Alicia through a school for modeling and acting, my daughter had just started classes there, I had previously submit her application for a short fil
m audition, not affiliated with the school. I was nervous when contacted for the audition, knowing she has no experience, I mentioned her audition to Alicia and my fear, she was so excited for my daughter and was willing to work with her as her acting coach, my daughter not only got the part, I was told her audition was awesome. Alicia coached my daughter only twice before her actual location shoot day, I received so many compliments from the film director and camera crew how well my daughter played her role like a pro, thanks to Alicia. I recommend Alicia to a friend of mine in need of an acting coach for her 5yr old son, she is excited so is her son, he enjoys every minute with his coach. Alicia is the best and will bring out the best in her students."
"Instructor is personable and a competent communicator knowledgeable in her craft. Lessons have been so enjoyable I regret when their completion arrives,
and eagerly look forward to each next meeting!"
"Tom broke down the fundamentals for me in a way that I wasn’t getting from other teachers, and I came away from his lessons with a deeper and more intuiti
ve understanding of the basics. I will definitely study more with him in the future. Highly recommended!"
"Bill prepared for the lesson in advance. He is supportive but provides important critiques. Knowledge, experience, warmth!"
"My 7 year old daughter is having a great time with improv classes with Jessie. We've attended 5 classes so far and Jessie is always professional, always
prepared with a fun plan of games and exercises. We highly recommend her!"
Stars like Meryl Streep and Al Pacino make it look easy, but if you want to become a professional actor, don't expect to rely on talent alone. Even if you're a natural performer who can cry on command and memorize lines, you'll need to learn the following fundamental drama techniques to really master the art of acting.
1. Vocal Dynamics
Your lines are just words until you deliver them, but unless your voice is well-trained, they'll still fall flat or sound forced. In order to accurately port …
