Our 8 year old son had his first Guitar lesson with Dee this past weekend, and she was amazing. She wasted no time getting down to brass tacks with our son, showing him the various parts of the guitar, how to hold it and within minutes he knew two chords. She was able to keep our kiddo engaged, offered great praise and positive feedback/reinforcement and kept him on task for the entire 45 minute lesson. We could not be happier and cannot wait to see what he learns during his next lessons with her!

Hi, I'm Glenn. Thank you for viewing my profile. I've been teaching students for over 20 years, playing all styles and levels of music, from day-one beginners to seasoned pros seeking to sharpen their playing skills. I teach both traditional notation and tablature, writing my own teaching methods in both formats. I can transcribe any song or solo for you, and can arrange the music to fit your particular level of skill.

I earned a B.A. in Music Composition and an A.A. in music theory, and have worked as a professional musician since graduation. I play in a variety of bands that cover rock, jazz, surf, oldies, and country, and also write and arrange music for those bands as well as writing my own music that can be heard on my own YouTube channel.

The first song I learned to play was "Pipeline." I own and play several acoustic an
d electric guitars, as well as ukuleles, mandolins, bass guitars, and lap steel guitars. I'm personable and patient, and my lessons include songs, techniques, and instruction for improving your musical skills. I look forward to meeting you and having fun learning and playing music together.

About Melody
First I want to thank you for looking at my profile.
You can read about me below.

If you have any questions please email me through Take Lessons. Please make sure you are serious and still want to have fun! Remember Learning can be fun.
Seniors don’t be afraid you want to learn I can do it!!
I have been with take lessons for over 6 years. They are an awesome company to work with.

About me:

I will be teaching on using Face Time or Whats App seems to be the best way to get the job done! Online classes will be for guitar and theory only.

The subjects I teach are on my profile. Please remember Acoustic Guitar and Guitar are the same thing .

Even though it says my travel is 15 miles max. There will be a travel fee place on your lesson tuition.
Once we firm down a time and day I stick to that! It becomes inconvenient when I’m rearrang
ing my schedule to accommodate you. So please be sure of what days you might like to do. And keep it the same every week. You will be charged for no show, last minute cancellations. My time is as important as yours thanks!

Now just coming from Florida to the country!!!! Woah for me.

I started music at age 5. My parents were both professional musicians. My father was a professional jazz piano player and my mother a classical guitarist. So it is in the blood. I play a few instruments but my favorite guitar and piano. I went to Nassau Community College for Drama/Music.
I toured in theater groups and also was in a few bands while living in NY. I could not make up my mind so I did both. I love both So. Florida here I come in 1991. Since I was new to the area I starting performing regular basis and became well known in the music community.I also went on a song writing spree. I was also able to do dinner theater in between the music. I met some people, music teachers from going to the open mics. They encouraged me to go out and start teaching and do what I was supposed to do. How it happened ? I placed one small ad, got a call and from there it grew into over 80 students.I just was referred to everyone it was a chain reaction.
In between teaching I was also in a duo and made time for the touring, local gigs, etc....released 6 CD's.
I was very busy that I decided to open up my own music school to handle the over flow of students. I had my business for 9 years.
Mom and Pop store!
I produced a lot of talent from there. Songwriters with published songs, singers with contracts, bands the guitarist in the now defunct band Hey Monday with Cassidy Pope. Students that were in American Idol- featuring Emily Booke 2 years in a row top twenty then top ten..
America's Got Talent featuring Amy Profaci, Cassidy Pope.
Played for Bruce Springsteen in RPB with Odd Man Out, Teen Punk Band since disbanded. Had them out and playing gigs at age 14 the youngest oldest 16 at CBGB's. In NYC. They were on the Regis and Kelly show. Students that started with me at age 5 and stayed for years. A lot are off to college or done with school grown up sort of. When they bump into me and say hey Ms. Mel I'll never forget you teaching me music lessons or do you remember that or I loved that band class you did. You changed my whole life.
I really appreciate it and I did make a difference in their lives.
I also write for TV and Film and have over 30 professionally published songs. Songs playing on commercials, TV and overseas in England. They seem to love it over there a lot of fan mail.

Ok this is as follows.
*** Lesson Details ***
Cancellations : 24 hour notice. Make up lessons are at my discretion.
61 key keyboard are ok for piano lessons.
You must have a piano for vocal lessons if I come to your home. You must have a guitar 🎸 for guitar lessons. I do not supply any instruments or lesson books. You are required to contact me once booked and find out what you will need.

How long will it take to learn depends on YOU!!!!

Practice is the answer not a question. You must be prepared to work to do the work. If you do not understand it we will do it until you get it.
My Adult students this goes for you too.
It is important that you practice. So I recommend cutting down on video games and TV.
I suggest no TV or Video games especially before the lessons are about to start. Very distracting for the kids.
I expect you to be practiced and ready to go when I get there. If you want to be a rock star that's what it takes, discipline.
Its great when a parent can sit in while I'm teaching your child. Remember I am teaching you as well.
You will be helping your child practice during the week until the next lesson.
For the guitar there will be complaints of hurting finger tips.
I cannot do anything about that it comes with guitar playing.
For the like piano, the fingers will not hurt.

After 3 to 6 months for the older student I expect all 6 strings to be complete and chords and strumming on guitar and learning songs of your choice.
Piano - Sight Reading and being able to play with 2 hands in the key of "C" with ease.
This will only happen with practice, And learning songs of your choice if you choose to.

Small ones as much time as they need depends upon how long it takes for them to learn it and how much time mom can help practice.

*** Studio Equipment **
Right up Piano,
Small 15 Watt Amp

**Supplies:
I do not supply instruments for any student. Parents you are
expected to purchase a 61 key keyboard of your choice and finances.Same goes for guitar. We will figure out the size you or your child needs. You must purchase your own books. I use Bastiens Primer A red book, Bastiens A Pink Book, along with these books they also have a theory book , performance book and technic book. Bk 1,2,3 also have a series of book 📚 to work with.

Guitar 🎸 I like to use Fast Track Bk 1 w/o CD. Then again they are becoming obsolete

I am an experienced Classical Guitar teacher of 30 years. My students have gone on to play professionally, have their songs on iTunes and teach at the college level. Available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons to build strong technique from the ground up. I taught Classical at the College level for over 20 years and would like to put that experience to work for you! I typically use the Shearer, Noad and the Royal College of Music Series method books to get beginners and intermediate students started. I use several app which help make your learning experience more enjoyable. Looking forward to working with you.

About Eric
Hi,

Welcome to my TL's profile!

If you're looking at this site, you're already on your way to becoming an AWESOME musician! Whether this is your first attempt at music lessons or you've been playing for a while and trying to improve your skills, I'm EXCITED about working with you. I am a professional music educator and performer that has a passion for music and teaching. I will gear each lesson to fit your musical interests and playing level, while I encourage and motivate. My goal is to use proven teaching methods and a supportive learning environment to help you realize your musical potential, as well as having FUN while doing it.

Here's some background about myself, to help you decide if I'm a good fit as your new instructor.

I come from a family of musicians. Began guitar lessons at age five as the Beatles were in
vading the American music scene. I grew up in New Jersey, performing in rock bands until becoming interested in classical guitar. With New York City only a short bus ride away, I spent as much time as possible in the city, studying guitar with Russian born Classical Guitarist, Dr. Alexander Bellow, and Jazz Legend "Bucky" Pizzarelli. During this time, I attended recitals of such notables as Andre Segovia, Julian Bream and John Williams. Being immersed in this musical scene inspired me to make music my life.

Earned a degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, where I studied under the direction of guitar pedagogue, Richard Provost. While at Hartt and shortly after, I performed in numerous Master Classes for internationally acclaimed artists such as Manuel Barrueco, Christopher Parkening, Oscar Ghiglia, Michael Lorimer, and Carlos Barbosa-Lima.

I have taught guitar at the college level for over twenty years teaching on the music faculties of University of Central Florida, Rollins College, Stetson University, Bethune Cookman College, Florida Southern College, and St. Leo College. I taught private guitar lessons, class guitar, and guitar ensemble

I have appeared hundreds times at Disney and Sea World as well as other venues around Central Florida. My experience includes performing solo and in small groups. I have also performed with rock groups, stage bands, folk groups, classical ensembles, jazz combos, Broadway shows, operas, as well as solo recitals, and concerto appearances.

Throughout the years I have had many unique experiences while performing. One of my favorites being the opportunity to play the MASH theme song for Alan Alda as well as other stars in attendance at a cast party for the TV show, Win, Lose or Draw at EPCOT Center.

Although I enjoy performing, I considers teaching music to be highly gratifying. The importance of giving students a good foundation with the proper technique and performance skills cannot be underestimated. When a student can play a song from beginning to end with style and confidence you know you've given them a gift that will offer them enjoyment for the rest of their lives.

I would highly recommend Eric at House of Music for guitar lessons. I am after a certain style of guitar music using finger picking to play for my special needs son. I have learned that not all teachers are familiar with this style. Thankfully, Eric is great at it. He is also teaching me how to read music and not just play the chords or tab which is something I had overlooked. I am thankful he has been able to work with me and my unique set of circumstances and help me reach my goals.

Eric Lesko taught my son Brian guitar 18 years ago when Brian was a teenager. My son got to a point that he didn't want to practice and we were thinking about giving up the lessons. However, Eric got Brian playing whatever kind of music my son was interested in and he continued taking for a few years thereafter, completely enjoying it. When I decided to take up the guitar around eight years ago, Eric was the first and only instructor I thought of. Besides being very capable musically, he is willing to move in any direction that you want in order to keep you interested and helping you achieve your goals. He always has suggestions on ways to approach a particular piece in order to make playing fun and not frustrating. He is also well-versed in the use of technology to make playing a continuum as you gain skills, making a huge difference in being able to get more out of practice. Finally, he is conveniently located in a new facility in downtown Oviedo and he is very flexible with lesson days and times. Eric's greatest asset is that he wants the student to enjoy playing as much as he does!

We are very pleased!

My 8-year-old daughter started taking guitar lessons with Chris about a year ago. Chris has made learning music a fun, yet effective, process. Our daughter is learning how to read music, play the notes across all of the strings / fret board, and build chords (and not just how to read guitar tabs). We have not had to encourage our daughter to practice - she loves to play. She even played for her music class at school!

Chris is prompt and professional with his communication.

We hope your experience will be as good as ours has been!

I have been playing guitar for over a decade and have tons of performance experience gigging in a local rock band. Combine that with a curriculum that starts with fundamentals and expands quickly into playing your favorite songs and you have a great start to beginning or expanding your guitar playing abilities.

About ryan
Hi, my name is Ryan and I would love to teach you how to play guitar. I've been playing for over 10 years and have been gigging for a little less than that in my band. Over the years I have gained a lot of experience performing on stage and teaching to people of all ages. If you want to shred, jam, or rock out then look no further. I okay all styles of music and pride myself in building a fun and educational curriculum based solely on you or others who have had similar interests as you. This means if you have a question about guitar or music in general, 9 times out of 10 I can answer it. The remaining tenth is either a well kept secret, or something that is left to be found. So if you're ready to start your journey or just need a guide to help you on your way, let's go!

Ryan was great! He's obviously a talented guitarist and he is very laid back and makes you feel comfortable. He shows you in detail what you need to do to become a better guitar player. My ONLY advice, and the reason he doesn't get 5 stars, is I think he should have more visual aids with his lessons. For example, write down the different scales or transcribe the first several measures of a song. Then, one has something to refer back to when you are practicing and invariably get stuck. Other than that, I would highly recommend Ryan as a guitar teacher!

I have two goals for my classical students
1. To play more beautifully
2. To have fun! That's what music is all about!
This course will teach beginners basic sitting position/technique, skills such as arpeggios/scales/chords, and basic sheet music knowledge.
As you progress we will be talking about different eras of classical music from the renaissance to modern styles.
My goal as your teacher is to have you playing from day 1! Lets learn to make music together!

About Zachary
Hello there! I am currently a junior in college studying nursing, but also pursuing classical and Flamenco guitar during my spare time. Please do not be discouraged by me being only 20 years old; I may be young, but I am experienced. I went to a well known performing arts high school in Florida where I helped start their classical guitar program. I was the first guitar major to graduate from the school, and the first to specialize in flamenco guitar. My job after starting the program was to assist my teacher with her new students, which was a class of over 40 high school students (all of them trying different genres of music). I still teach a couple of those students, and some of them have gone on to receive recognition and awards in music.

You do not need to be a virtuoso to play these styles of music! My goal is to have you playing
from day 1! We will also focus on material you want to learn, while combining material any guitarist needs to learn. First lessons involve basic chords which will guarantee your early success on the guitar! Other topics include how to hold the guitar, strumming, finger picking basics, and how to produce specific sounds. If you are experienced with guitar, allow me to help with any musicality or performance issues you may have.

As a teacher I like to make phrasing of music one of my main focuses. I want you to really tell a story with all of the music you are making, even if it is just an exercise!

I hope to make your musical journey an enjoyable one that will last you a lifetime! I'm looking forward to working with you! Please let me know if you have any questions at all, whether its more about me, what other things go into my lessons, or if you want to know more about what the guitar can offer you!

"Music should reflect the poetry and emotions of life"
-Juan Martin (flamenco guitarist)

“The beauty of the guitar lies in its soft and persuasive voice and its beauty cannot be equaled by any other instrument.”
-Andres Segovia (classical guitarist)
