Tu Quyen is a wonderful teacher. She teaches you technique, musicality and theory. In a short period of time, I have been able to progress more than I have previously with other teachers. She is very understanding and sets achievable goals for you. I have been wanting to learn a Chopin piece for a very long time, and I am happy to say, I am slowly tackling the piece with her guidance. My schedule requests were able to be accommodated as well. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional teacher.

Tu Quyen was an absolutely amazing teacher. I've recently got back into piano after a 14-year hiatus and had to start from scratch. She understood and was able to accommodate & adjust my lessons accordingly. She is also one of the only teacher I've had that teaches me how important it is to connect with the piano and the songs as the pianist. Highly recommended!

Tu Quyen was excellent. She read the information I sent her on my experience and interests, and fine-tuned my lesson exactly to my taste and level.

For example, I mentioned at the beginning of the lesson that I would like to learn music theory to aid my practicing, and she incorporated it into the lesson immediately. She even gave examples using ballet, which I had mentioned in my bio.

Tu Quyen is kind and friendly, and her lessons are pleasant and productive.

I form individual curriculums for each of my students based on what they want to achieve, so their paths range from solely classical to pop and rock to original compositions. No matter what the goal, I strive to ensure that my students have a strong foundation so that they can always enjoy their acquired musical skills.

About Nicole
New York-based pianist Nicole Brancato is an award-winning and adventurous performer, composer/arranger, and teacher. Nicole is awesome. She adapts lessons to match your skill level, nurtures proper and useful technique (while pinpointing and discouraging bad habits early on), and encourages you the whole way through. She teaches with enthusiasm and knowledge above expectations, and gets you excited for the work, incorporating theory and composition into her lessons. Highly recommended.

About Elisabetta
Originally from Rome, Italy, Elisabetta immersed herself in musical and classical studies since an early age. Traveling with her family, she had the opportunity to experience the most prestigious music productions in Europe and the United States. The choice to be an active part of the music world as a professional was inevitable and only natural.
She attained a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and Music Teaching, from the Conservatory of Music Refice, Italy.
She developed a long career teaching music, providing music education instruction, encompassing practice of an instrument, history of music, and music theory. She taught classes with approximately twenty-five students, maintaining a sharp, consistent focus on correlating music to academics.
Through instrument instruction (piano, recorder, and key board) she was successful i
n developing skills in students such as discipline and concentration. The experience of practicing and producing beautiful music enhanced the self esteem of even the most difficult pupils, improving their achievements also in mathematics, science, language arts and other academic subjects.
While teaching, Elisabetta never stopped performing for various Cultural Associations in Solo Concerts and Chamber Music.
In New York for family and business reasons since 1999, Elisabetta continued her successful teaching career throughout these years, giving lessons to children and adults alike. Some of her students came from the Martha Graham School of Modern Dance, The Neighborhood Playhouse and Opera Singers.

My daughter adores Elisabetta, and with good reason. Elisabetta is an expert in the fine art of balancing warmth and gentleness with rigorous instruction and an insistence on the importance of technique.

My daughter has been playing piano for several years, and she wants to be treated as a mature tween, not a small child who must be praised for simply getting through a piece. On the other hand, she can also be hypersensitive and react badly to criticism; she will think someone is angry with her on the slightest provocation. In other words, she is a very tough customer! But somehow, miraculously, Elisabetta gets it perfectly right, and my daughter feels respected and encouraged.

I am extremely grateful to have found such a gracious and skilled instructor, and I'm very pleased with the progress my daughter is making.

My son has been practicing piano with Elisabetta for more than a year and the progress he has made during this period really made me happy and proud. My son not only learned the skills of piano but also gained the passion for music from Elisabetta, who demonstrated great professionalism in piano , as well as the zeal for music and the love for kids. She has a very organized approach to get kids interested in music, while not getting bored with basic skills. I start to realize (only after a year of my son's piano practice) how important it is to have a musician specialized in piano as a teacher for my son's continuous development of his piano skills. I am very glad that I have made a wise decision at the early stage. My son always looks towards to the piano lessons at Elisabetta's house and he can get very sad when we have to miss the lessons from time to time. It is still very surreal for me to watch a super active 7 year old boy sitting in front of the piano for hours or listen to the cds quietly for a long time recommended by Elisabetta. Both my son and I are very thankful to the great teacher.

I teach beginning piano to advanced levels. I also do audition preparation as well as performance prep.

I present my students of all levels and all ages in two recitals per year. A holiday recital, and a spring formal recital. Join us for our next performance!

Practice, Practice, Practice!

About Jennifer
I have a Master's degree in music. My purpose as a teacher is to utilize all of my skills and education to realize my students' goals. I strive to inspire students towards musical excellence! I do this with much positive reinforcement, dialogue and critical analysis. With adults and advanced students, I include self-evaluation and discussion with the student so that they can become involved in their own development and musicianship.

*** Lesson Details ***
Tailoring each lesson to the individual needs of my students, I use a multi-faceted approach that includes memory, sight reading, ear-training and theory. This way students quickly build their repertoire and confidence on their instrument. Sing-a-longs train the musical ear, clapping reinforces rhythmic training, and new, exciting music strengthens reading skills. We often pla
y together, or have mini concerts to display the finished product of students' labor and encourage them towards new musical heights!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Yamaha Grand Piano, Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar

*** Travel Equipment ***
Guitar and my jeep

*** Specialties ***
When teaching piano, because I specialize in classical, I emphasize sight-reading, theory and performance from the very first lesson. As soon as possible, I have student memorize pieces appropriate to their level. I begin each lesson with memory work, move into sight-reading and analysis of the new work, or exercise. This way a student has a multi-faceted approach to music they are learning, and once they have learned it, they are continually adding to their repertoire. I work this way because many students are overwhelmed at the beginning of the learning stage. Examining the theory behind the composition helps them understand it, and approach it with less apprehension. Also, having pieces they can play from memory every week reminds them of the finished product of their labor and encourages them towards the new work.

It was truly a pleasure meeting Concetta for my first ever violin lesson. It is difficult to learn anything at the age 40, specially a musical instrument, but she made it comfortable and easy to understand. Isaac is an excellent teacher and is highly recommended. His method is not centered on drills, music reading or repetition, but rather on getting an understanding of how the notes, chords work together. In so doing, the student gets a great understanding of theory and it opens the door to improvisation. In addition he's very patient with folks such as myself who don't come to class with a deep understanding of music theory.

Through studying piano through my intuitive and ear-based approach, anyone can become an excellent player as well as developing musicianship skills valuable for composition and making music with others.

About Drew
Aside from an extensive amount of personal and teaching experience in all of these subjects, I genuinely love connecting with students through music to help them reach their personal goals.
