About Paul
Paul M is an American born, New York-based Piano teacher, Vocal coach, Pianist, Composer and Artist. As an educator, Paul is part of The Suffolk Piano Teachers Forum, College Music Society and Music Teachers National. He has been an Adjunct-instructor at New York University (NYU). Paul also conducts master classes and seminars in The United states and South America. For the past few years, he has implemented classes in composition and music history in the coastal area of Ecuador and New York. His music studio in New York City is in high demand. He works with piano, composition and vocal performance students of all levels and styles, which include classical, jazz, blues, Tango, and Broadway. Paul also works with all different types of students such as those who want to learn for personal enjoyment or for professional reasons. He prepares h
is students for competitions, audition preparation and professional concerts. Each year his students have the opportunity to perform at the world-renowned Steinway Hall in New York City. This yearly student recital gives students the opportunity to perform in one of New York City’s most sought after recital Halls located in midtown Manhattan. In July of 2014 Paul became a Steinway Educational partner. In 2008, Paul received a Masters Degree in piano performance from New York University. In 2006, he received a Bachelor Degree of Music from Stony Brook University.
As a Pianist, In 2006 Paul was a prizewinner at the Music Club of Douglaston Piano Competition. For two consecutive years, Paul was awarded The Suffolk County Piano Forum Prize. XLNT Music recently wrote, “Paul is a fine pianist that performs with superb pianism and great sensitivity.”
 His recent public performances include Ecuador South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters NYC and The Staller Center. Paul has performed with The Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra and The New York University Symphony Orchestra. He has studied with well-known piano teachers including: Martin Canin, Morey Ritt, Tina Dahl, and Anita Gelber. In 2011 he released a record consisting of his performance of original compositions for solo piano that is available in bookstores and on iTunes.
As a composer Paul has composed music for the feature film Documentary Between the Shades, directed by Jill Salvino and premiered at the Soho International Film Festival in 2017. In 2014, Paul was the composer for the radio show Ackerman Associates Meets Dracula written and directed by Peter Stass. In 2014 he wrote the score for, Lies People Tell, a short film that premiered at the san pedro film festival. In 2011, he released his first solo record Succession of images, a song cycle for solo piano. In 2017, he released his second record Hope, a chamber music work recorded with clarinetist Thomas Piercy and Violinist Patrisa Tomassini. Recent public piano performances of his music include Ecuador in South America, Steinway Hall NYC, The United Nations, Spectrum NYC, Faust Harrison Hall, Saint Peters in NYC and The Staller Center in Stony Brook NY.

As an artist, Paul is known for creating large instillations, paintings and live performing art pieces. From 2014-2016, he was the artist in residence at Spectrum Gallery in NYC. In 2014, he completed the Elevator Time Machine, a large instillation made of elevator parts that responds to sound. He also wrote and produced a 20 minute live art piece called Static in Movement for piano and video. His acrylic on canvas works have also been presented at Spectrum NYC, The Art Bar, The Gallery at Logos and Ward-Nasse gallery.

I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

About Gregory
As a younger brother at the age of five, I began studying the piano because my older sister did. After my foundation in music strengthened I fell in love with the trumpet. At first, each note took time to develop and I enjoyed the challenge. The trumpet allowed me to travel all over the Southeast later in life and even to China with a 1940's Radio Show. I enjoyed many top-level bands the kindled my love and passion for good music. I want to share that kindling with my students in a nurturing and guiding situation, just like my teachers gave me.
I used to go to lessons and become so motivated and inspired that I thought I could change the world. I always knew that I would want to give back exactly that. As my performance opportunities grew into venues like Churchill Grounds, The Rialto, and The Variety Playhouse in Atlanta
and Radio City Music Hall, 54 Below, The Jazz Standard, Bowery Ballroom, Shapeshifter and Flushing Town Hall in New York, my fire for wanting to develop my teaching did also. I was always thinking back to what my old teachers gave me, inspiration. I then understood that inspiration is the key to success in life.

Lessons will be something the student looks forward to every week. We will work through common method books and learn material that the student has an interest in. For example, some students want to learn to play high notes, a popular song, improvise, or write their own songs. I am a laid back guy, but I do expect effort in the lessons and at home. I believe whatever you put into music is what you get out of it, and I will inspire and motivate the student to get as much out of the lessons as they can. Students will create, with my advisement, and update short term and long term goals every few months.

I have had several lessons so far with Gregory and as an experienced trumpet player can recommend him extremely highly.
I am getting back into the trumpet following a gap after playing for 10 years when I was at high school. Gregory has really helped getting my technique and sound going again, I have been really pleased with my improvement. He has a great demeanour and has been great fun to work with. He is also an excellent player, and is highly reliable and easy to schedule with.

Dan, a multi faceted musician, composer and educator active in the tri-state area since 1994. Dan's eclectic education, upbringing and fields of interest render him one of the unique voices in the dynamic field of current music education.
In an era where old boundaries are breaking and a growing musician needs to have expanded horizons, Dan stands out in the crowd.

Born and raised in Jerusalem, Dan received his musical education from the Rubin music academy in Jerusalem and the Manhattan School of music in NYC where he completed a Masters degree in classical composition and Jazz performance. Dan's playing and compositions were performed nationally and internationally, reviewed by the New York Times, The St Louis Post Dispatch and other publications.

Currently Dan is teaching composition, film scoring, theory and ear training at the

About Carolyn
Coming from a large extended family in Hawaii, I was surrounded by luau music, kachi-kachi dancing, Japanese bon dances, handsome local guys singing and playing their guitars and my aunties strumming their ukes and singing old songs. I reveled in walking alone in Nature or playing piano and singing in empty, stained-glassed churches - just wailing in the dark and colored light!

I studied: classical piano, organ, oboe, clarinet, violin, voice, and guitar. I started as a teenager to make a small living playing for various churches, choirs, weddings, and funerals. As a young adult, I sang in jazz trios and pop bands, and continued playing as a church organist/choir accompanist, and began teaching private piano lessons to students of all ages.

Upon arriving in New York City, I entered into a journey of playing at a Washington Heights g
ospel church, living in a building filled with musicians, studying Sanskrit and mantra chanting, and sound and light healing. And, I sang! And wrote my own songs.

By using traditional teaching methods and everything I've learned, I create meaningful experiences for students by:
- being patient, flexible and creative in approach
- using visual, aural, and tactile teaching tools

David is fantastic. He is very smart and his formal education in music shines through in his teachings. He teaches the proper foundational techniques which may be harder to adopt initially but without it, advancement to high level playing is much more difficult and time consuming. David's direct teaching style creates very efficient sessions and maximum progression. David has the right balance of formal music education to ensure proper technique, and his personal band side project to ensure that you are enjoying the process since that's what's most important.

About Jaylah
I am currently a student at Bloomfield College and will be graduating in May 2022 with a BS in Pre Med. I believe that my academic background, dedication, and flexibility make me eligible to adjust and work in different environments. While a student at Newark Tech High School, I had the opportunity to learn a number of valuable skills such as sound engineering, music theory, music appreciation, and some video production that will contribute my work ethic and meet dead lines without a problem. For the past four years I've teach music theory and piano to students ranging from ages five to 31. There's a joy in being able to help other expand their knowledge and learn a new skill. All of my students have always enjoyed class and look forward to our lessons where we laugh, learn, and enjoying playing piano!

I'm excited to be the tutor for any level; whether that is discovering the structures of your favorite songs, pushing your knowledge further in classical music, or exploring advanced contemporary theory!

I have a Bachelors degree in music composition and will be attending graduate school for a Masters in Music for composition this Fall. I have an extensive knowledge in theory and would also be willing to teach composition!

About Arindam
I was a middle school STEM teacher for two years, so for me patience is key! Everyone learns at a different pace and in different ways. My goal is to help you grow in any way that I can so that you are set up for success!

STEM:
I have a bachelors degree in Biochemistry, studied for and took the MCAT, and taught 6-7th grade math and science for two years. I have had many research opportunities and have applied my knowledge of biology and chemistry in various different experiences. Science and math can be very tricky, but their are tools to help you become more comfortable with the subjects you are struggling with.

Music:
I have a Bachelors degree in Music Composition and will be attending graduate school for composition in the fall. I am a contemporary composer with an extensive knowledge of music theory. I also have played trombon
e for 13 years in orchestras, bands, and chamber groups. I have experience with a wide variety of styles and techniques that encompass both Western and Eastern music.

Education is an incredible industry to be in; I have been lucky to have had many amazing teachers, mentors, and tutors help me in my life. Ultimately, I want to pay that back and help you since I now have the means to do so.

Arindam has been teaching my son Science and Math since he was 10 years old. Now 16 years old, my son considers Arindam his mentor in addition to a friend. He is an accomplished Bowdoin College graduate, middle school STEM teacher, and has been tutoring students in science and math since in high school. Despite all of his accomplishments, he teaches with humility and kindness.

While he sets a high quality standard, my husband and I have seen how he works with my son's preferred learning style so that he can achieve his best. He is very patient. Most importantly, my son not only vastly improved his grades, but also his confidence.

Arindam is a very punctual, polite, and professional young man. He genuinely regards every person without condescension and wants you to work toward being your best. Above all he’s a real person that has greatly impressed us. We highly recommend him as a tutor!
