I believe EVERYONE should have the opportunity to learn music, especially children, in a fun and enjoyable way! As someone who grew up around music (my mother is a music teacher!) I wish to give that chance to others.
I started playing the piano at around the age of four, and helped out as a substitute teacher at my mother's music school back in Singapore while in High School. I left shortly after to pursue music at Berklee College of Music, where I graduated summa cum laude in August 2013 with a Bachelor's of Music in Piano Performance and Contemporary Writing and Production!
My students range from as 3.5 years old, to the grandmother of a couple of my students. I wo
Everyone is different - and I personally take the time and effort to develop and customize my lessons and materials for each student. I'll push you (a little!), to make you realize just how much you can do!
Music is an all-rounded experience. Not only can I offer you a chance to learn how to play different styles of piano, from jazz to pop to classical, but I can also teach you how to write your own songs, arrange them, and perhaps (if you like) record them!

I am a highly qualified NYC-based Russian and English language teacher with a degree in linguistics/teaching and more than five years of experience. During the years of my teaching practice, I have developed several teaching methods, which I use in my classes. Together we will establish clear objectives for our lessons and will work on your grammar proficiency, listening and speaking skills, and accent neutrality.
I am a strict teacher :) Seriously. You have a goal and I am here to help you get there, whether it is to be able to negotiate with your business partners, speak to your family members or
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here using the "Ask a question" button. If you have already decided that you need to speak Russian or English, do not postpone it for another day, month or year. Click the green button and let's do it.
I am looking forward to starting our language journey!
P.S. You can see me in action on my YouTube channel "Anna Cher: Russian from the Heart": https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3r_jGuhcb7D48Vh0pakNcA
Some technical aspects:
- All materials are provided and included into the price of a lesson
- Recommended frequency of lessons: minimum of 2 times per week (duration of each lesson – 1-1.5h). Learning a language is like going to the gym: to get the muscles, you have to practice regularly.
- If you would like to have a class at a specific time and it is not available in my calendar, please send me a message. I may be able to change some things around and accommodate your request.
- I try to be flexible and modify my schedule based on your needs. But please be considerate and let me know 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel a class.

I've worked with middle, high school and college students on developing the reading, writing and research skills needed for success in many academic areas. I've worked with second language learners on speaking, reading, and writing.
Preparing for essay tests is one of my areas of expertise, but my teaching philosophy is less about preparing for a particular test than it is about developing strategies that work for a broad number of tests and in real life situations.
I love working with adults and younger people on developing storytelling techniques, and public spe
Whatever type of writing you need to work on, it would be my honor and privilege to work with you.

Once I moved to New York I participated in an internship at Victor de Souza Company and I was quickly hired for the position of Production Manager and began assisting Mr. De Souza in executing and coordinating fashion shows.
As an artist and designer I feel more inclined towards education than working in the fashion industry. I feel great joy teaching and this would be a wonderf
Sometimes I have been approached by people who, although they do not want to pursue a career in fashion or art, want advice on how customize their image. I can help you to express your individuality and embrace your freedom.
As a designer I have also collaborated producing the costume designs for plays like: "Post-Plástica", Museo del Barrio, NY (2012) and "Schwanze-Beast", Vermont Performance Lab, Vermont (2015).
In 2015 I released the film-documentary, "Normal Is Good (I like America and America likes me)" at Gene Siskel Film Center, Chicago. "All the things she says" is my most recent solo exhibition at Galería de la Biblioteca Pública Rubén Martínez Villena, Havana, Cuba (2017). I was selected as part of 2017 NYFA Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program for Performing and Literary Arts, New York Foundations for the Arts, NY, US.
My knowledge of art and design and my international perspective, are elements that enrich my approach to education.

My teaching philosophy is to provide a comprehensive music instruction that is not only about notes and rhythm, but also about connecting performance with theory, technique, collaboration, self-reflection and creativity from an early age. One of the key elements to reinforce the work that I do with my students is to help them notice the possibilities within a piece, which is when the student determines what the piece is “telling them”, what it “looks like”, how could it be improved, and what other instruments they are “hearing.”

Are you studying Arabic or want to practice your Arabic with a native speaker? Let me help you!
I am a native Arabic Speaker ( Egyptian) and am available to help you practice and correct you and give you pointers.
Arabic can be tricky because a lot of schools teach the classical Arabic which NO one uses - the Egyptian Dialect is the one that everyone understands because of Egypt's very popular and established media and entertainment industry + its renowned scholars.
I will help teach you the practical Arabic that you can practically use and I will do it in an easy and straightforward way! Guaranteed:)
I am flexible with my time - just email me in advance and book sessions of 4, 8 or 12 a month - if you require more - no problem!
Have a great day!

In English, we have onomatopoeias like "cock-a-doodle-doo" for the sound a rooster makes, or "crunch" for the act of crushing things. Onomatopoeias are quite common in many, if not all languages. We tend to notice them most in comics as sound effects: zippers "zip" and light switches "click." They're fun to say and they certainly aren't hard to learn. … Read More
