I have been a professional singer for most of my adult life. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge with students as they discover ways towards self-expression through the voice.

About Amy
I have been a voice, acting, and teacher of creative arts for over 25 years. My background includes ten years of classical training with Maestro Julio Berrocal, as well as vocal training through the Feldekrais approach with Marcy Lindhiemer. In acting I have studied with renowned Stanislavsky scholar Sonia Moore and Master acting teacher of the Strasberg Method, Marcia Haufrecht. I received a B.A. For comparative literature and creative writing at the State University of New York at Purchase and I am currently studying for a masters in social work at Walden University.
I believe, within all of us, Is the ability to express something distinctive and original. I work to help the student discover their individual and unique voice, weather it be through singing, acting or writing. I share with my students tools to gain the ability and con
fidence to achieve their goals. I empathize deeply with the challenges students may face when pursuing a life in the creative and performing arts, having worked professionally in those arena's for most of my adult life. I believe, it is the teachers job to respect each students individual process of learning.
My students have gone on to become recording artists, Broadway performers, movie actors, blues and cabaret artists and published writers.

*** Lesson Details ***
Voice
I am an empathetic teacher, sensitive to the students individual process of learning. My singing lessons usually start with breathing and relaxation exercises. Vocal exercise come next, then when the student is fully warmed up, we will begin to work on songs. It is important that the student be part of the process of picking material since the more they personally respond to the material the more apt they are to be engaged in their lessons and the more quickly they will learn. After three to six months they will understand the fundamentals of breathing and relaxation and its importance to proper vocal training. They will have begun the process of extending their range and will understand the principles of performance in song.
Acting
As an acting teacher and coach, I tailor my classes to the needs of each student. I utilize improvisatory and sensory techniques to help unleash spontaneity. I also encourage the students to use their personal experiences as a way to access a full range of emotions. I enjoy working with the student on script analysis, so as to discover the underlying motivations of the character the student is working on.
Creative and Lyric Writing
I use prompts as a way to get the student writing. Often, I will ask the student to write for stretches of time without editing themselves. It is important to unleash imagination before beginning the process of editing. Many times it is the unexpected that is the must compelling.

*** Travel Equipment ***

Dan is a fantastic teacher. If you are looking for singing lessons you'll be hard pressed to find a better teacher.

When we started I thought that some people just can't sing and that I was one of those people. Not only did I not know how to sing, I had no idea how to *learn* to sing. Dan was super patient and I felt like he figured how I needed to learn just as much as what I needed to learn.

Singing is a life long journey, and I still have a long way to go, but the difference in my confidence and ability since working with Dan is like night and day. I recommend Dan highly.

From beginners to singers that want to improve parts of their voice.

Learn proper breathing and control.

Learn to sing in pitch better and strength conditioning.

Learn how to get over stage fright and singing in front of people.

About Paul
***My goal as a teacher***

I try to teach what the students are interested in and make it fun and interesting so that they learn the lessons and their favorite songs. Every student is different and needs to be taught in a way that makes learning easy and fun for them.

I have a passion for all people and all ages and am blessed to be able to teach from the very young, (ages 2-5 Toddlermusik lessons) to teens and adults.....all the way to senior citizens. I've had many older students all the way up to a 93 year old gentleman who is taking singing lessons and asked me to put music to his lyrics. We have recorded over 50 songs together.

***Background***

I started playing trumpet in 5th grade and knew that music was for me. I also liked playing with drums and piano also because they seemed exciting. I've competed in WSMA (Wi
sconsin School Music Assoc.) for many years which taught me a lot about performing for judges, being relaxed, and the importance of preparation.

I started playing the guitar and bass guitar when I was 13 and have never stopped practicing and performing since. I also have done a lot of writing, recording, producing, and have a Pro Tools Studio for students to use.

***College and Teaching***

I began teaching music lessons in college and enjoyed it very much. I received my B.A. in Music from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point. There I was very much involved with guitar, piano, voice, trumpet, and being in bands and writing music. After receiving my B.A. I also took 3 years of Education classes at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I write, produce, and perform my music along with performing with bands around the Midwest.

***Life in Music***

After receiving my B.A. in Music, I continued teaching and opened up my home studio. After a year and a half I had enough students that I was able to quit my factory job and teach music full time. I've been teaching, performing, and writing music ever since.

***Performing and more***

I have been on stage performing music since I was 11. In school band, marching band, competing in music competitions, and in bands touring the Midwest.

I have recorded many CDs with bands and on my own. My most ambitious project was a CD of my original music called, "Girls". I've performed my music and promoted it by being interviewed on Milwaukee radio stations along with internet music sites such as CD Baby. It is very exciting talking on live radio about my music and my passion. It is also even more exciting, and scary, playing my music live on the radio, lol.

***Instruments Taught***

I have been teaching for over 2 decades. Students take lessons for:
* guitar (electric / acoustic)
* piano
* voice
* drums
* trumpet
* saxophone
* harmonica
* music theory / ear training
* studio recording / songwriting

I also give kindermusik lessons to 2-5 year old all the way up to senior citizens 70-93. I play parties, concerts, and Nursing Home performances.

I am experienced as an online (Skype) instructor, and I have taught online lessons worldwide. I've witnessed great results from my online students (both national and international).

I hope I can help you with all of your musical goals and get you going in a positive musical direction.

I meet Paul about three months ago, While not a complete beginner, I had tried to teach myself thru out the years and picked up a lot of bad habits. Paul helped me to see and fix my habits. Paul is a very qualified teacher, of many instruments, drums, keyboards, guitar, and others. I'm 59 years old, Paul doesn't mind my age, doesn't treat me like I'm too old to learn new stuff. And is more than willing to see me thru complete guitar instruction. Thanks Paul...

We work to cultivate your singing voice so you can let the song of your heart shine forth with power and passion. During lessons, we work through vocal warm-ups, vocal exercises and a song of your choice (any style is great). It is most helpful to have a backing track of your song during the lesson. I teach solid vocal technique to help students find and develop their unique sound and maintain a strong and healthy singing voice for years.

About Angela
I have a passion for life, good health, and expressing my joy and hopefulness through music. I enjoy helping others become their best version of themselves.

I have been a singing since childhood, taking lessons from many wonderful teachers who have provided me with a powerful tool kit of knowledge and techniques to enable me to help you find your voice of strength and power.

I believe in well-rounded health and have found yoga, with the combined focus on breath, body, and mind, to be a foundation for feeling and being my best. I would be honored to have you join me on the journey.

I emphasize a vocal technique rooted in the classical tradition, because it provides an excellent foundation for any style the student is interested in singing.

I have had significant formal musical training, as well as years of experience working as a singer and teacher. I have performed and taught in a variety of styles, including opera, classical, pop, folk, and musical theater.

Learning to use proper breath support, resonance, and clarity of tone are all important aspects of singing, regardless of the style being sung. I typically use individually tailored vocal exercises to teach technical details at the beginning of the lesson. We also work on specific repertoire choices aimed at improving those newfound technical skills.

About Ana
Hey there! The first thing I want to tell you about studying with me is that my highest priority is making it fun. I’ve found that cultivating the student’s genuine interest and enjoyment of the music learning process is the biggest contributor to progress.

In the first lesson, communication is very important to me. I want to find out what you love about music, so that we can build skills which directly contribute to your musical passions. My approach with a new student involves discussing what they are hoping to get out of taking lessons. Together, we come up with a series of goals that we will work towards achieving during our sessions. I believe in tailoring the lesson to each individual student- there is no one size fits all method to learning!

I welcome students of all skill levels and ages, including complete beginners!

As a singer, I often hear people from all walks of life lament about their inability to carry a tune and how they wish they had been born with the ability to sing. I believe that everybody has a voice worth sharing and cultivating: the first step in that journey is to find the right voice teacher.

I frequently work with students interested in developing a technique suitable for pop music and musical theater (techniques like belting), as well as students looking to begin or further their training as classically trained singers.

My teaching philosophy utilizes classically informed techniques and methodologies in order to get students to where they want to be: whether you want to sing opera, musical theater, or pop, I will help you to find and nurture your unique voice in a supportive and safe environment.

I work with students of all ages and levels. Please feel free to contact me in order to set up a trial lesson.
