*** Lesson Details ***
Not only am I a trained singer, I am also an actor. I understand what it is to communicate and show emotion while singing. Before you can do this, you must also learn healthy singing technique. I will help blend the two.

The first half of each lesson will be dedicated to vocal exercises with the second half to songs I recommend or from your own repertoire. My recommendations may be from a different style of music than you are accustomed to, but I will be working towards helping you sing the style you want to sing.

Every voice is different. As a teacher I want to make sure that my students understand and are comfortable with what they are feeling and hearing. While I am an easy going person, I work very hard to help students find the right path to healthy vocal production.

*** Travel Equipment ***
n/a student must have piano in home for use by the teacher

*** Specialties ***

***please note: I have 3 cats. They do not come into the studio, but if you have allergies, this is possibly a problem.

Great Teacher

Phyllis is the best singing teacher I have ever had. She is completely knowledgeable about technique and personalizes each class for her students. Phyllis is so sweet, and believes that there is a singing voice inside of all of us. Since I have started taking lessons with her, my range has expanded and not only that, I have gained new knowledge about sheet music that I had never heard before. I would highly recommend choosing her as your teacher.

I do have cats at my home studio- be aware if you are concerned with allergies!

My first priority is making the student feel comfortable, we will move only as fast as the student wants to move.

We will start by setting some goals- what the student is hoping to get out of voice lessons. I will keep your goals in mind when teaching.

Learning how to sing can be a slow process. Expect 3-6 months of studying to notice large improvements-however, the more consistently you practice, the more consistent your progress.

Students will be asked to fin

d or purchase their own music (average of $10-$30).

About Elizabeth

Elizabeth is a professional piano teacher and has taught piano/keyboard lessons for 20 years to children ages 5 and up and to adults of all ages. She is a graduate of Columbia College and has a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Arts Administration. She started playing piano at age 7 and had many years of formal classic and pop piano lessons. She's taught piano at a music studio for over 13 years and had a waiting list. She has been an accompanist for several groups including various college and high school choral groups and vocalists.

Liz loves teaching all ages whether children or adults. She loves teaching beginners/newbies and watching them progress and find creative expression through music. She wants to inspire and bring out each student's best in a fun, positive, supportive, and patient atmosphere. She hopes to help bring st

udents the love and joy of playing the piano that she has always had .
Lessons are online from the comfort of your own home.

Please email teacher for other lesson time availability if needed.

Teaching Style
I tailor lessons to meet each individual's needs and learning styles/abilities. I use method books along with popular music methods and let the student pick music they like to go along with it. Lessons include harmonization, ear training, transposing, improvisation, and multi-sensory learning. I believe in positive encouragement, patience and a supportive environment to help build student's confidence as they learn.
Also, I specialize in helping students that are especially nervous about taking lessons. The studio I taught at often recommended me for students that were afraid, more sensitive or shy with lessons.
I believe teachers should always be learning as well. I study, research, attend seminars and look for new ways and methods to improve lessons and grow as a teacher.
Would love to help bring the joy of making your own music in the moment to you!

The piano is a wonderful instrument of which I plan to master very soon with Elizabeth's great help. I recommend anyone interested in learning to play the piano to take lessons from Elizabeth. Many Thanks!

About Angela

Angela Solis is a violin and viola teacher with more that 12 years of experience. She started her music studies in Spain, where she finished her Bachelor Degree in music in 2004 and where most of her performance and teaching experience was forged between the classical, contemporary and regional styles. Her experience in performance includes playing in several orchestras, ensembles, recording studios and as the lead singer and founder of her band “Costellas”.

Her teaching experience was also broadened when she decided to attend multiple Suzuki and Rolland method workshops in Spain and set off traveling around Asia, where Angela also worked as a Violin and Viola teacher and came in contact with the ABSRM system.

One of her greatest professional achievements was to obtain the Viola teacher position in the state music system in Spain. It

is a hard process that can take years and where one has to prove a high level in performance, teaching skills and instrument related knowledge. Angela got the 6th highest score in the test that year of 2008.

Being an instrument teacher is not easy, and teaching a string instrument is really hard during the first stages. Angela invested lots of time and effort promoting both instruments and motivating the scarce students she first got so they could thrive. Some of them pursue today successful music careers and the number of Viola and violin teachers in the school she started doubled in 3 years.

Nowadays, Angela lives in San Francisco, where she moved around 2 years ago, got married, and have some private students while taking private lessons herself from a teacher of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She is also learning composition and Music production and practices chamber music whenever she has the chance.

About Xavier

I am a professional pianist, piano teacher, vocal coach and organist. I am originally from Puerto Rico, were I got my Bachelors in Music Performance with a specialization in piano from the Conservatory of Music in P.R. and have two Masters of Music from Eastern Michigan University, in Piano Perfomance, and The University of Michigan, in Collaborative Piano.

My philosophy has always been to ask the student what he/she wants to accomplish with their piano studies and then come up with a plan to accomplish this. Pair that with my teachings of proper technique and becoming a well rounded musician which includes: sheet music reading, music theory, sight reading, ear training and playing from the heart and you have the perfect formula for success. But the secret ingredient is always the effort that you put in to get better, without that yo

u will not get better.

As a pianist I do a lot of freelance work with singers and instrumentalists. Working with them for their concerts/recitals, competitions and recordings. I work also with middle/high school students as the choir accompanist for the Bowling Green City Schools in Ohio. I perform my organist duties at Olivet Lutheran Church in Sylvania, OH.

I have a small private studio that I teach from home and looking to expand it with online lessons and with you. I look forward to working with you and helping you accomplish your musical goals whether that is in classical or any other genre, I am here for you.

I'm a 50+ adult who took years of lessons as a kid and am now returning to piano. Xavier is patient, pleasant, selects appropriate music, works on both technique as well as musicality, and is great fun.

Mr Suarez has been teaching my 9 year old for just over 2 months. My son was excited about piano before we started, but now he loves it even more. He practices every single day without being told. Mr Suarez is patient, kind and teaches supportively with humor. He pushes just enough to make my son want to be better, without making him feel bad about his performance, should he be struggling. I highly recommend Mr. Suarez.

Bgcheck Background Checked

About Josh

Short version:

I grew up in Florida, where I spent my time water gardening, woodcarving, playing the violin, and slaying giant sea monsters in the Gulf of Mexico. I’ve composed film scores, arranged string quartets, and recorded/produced everything from rock bands to madrigalian choirs. I played 1st chair violin in the Tampa Bay Symphony and have a degree in classical violin with a focus in composition from the University of Miami, where I worked on both violin and classical piano before moving to Austin, Texas to continue conquering the planet with cool noises.

Longer version:

I am a performing, recording, and teaching violinist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Classical Violin Performance With An Emphasis On Music Composition and Technology. I am a songwriter, composer, pianist, and singer as well, with a background in: acro yoga, b

odywork, a handstand study, and a curiosity in speed learning, body awareness, mental agility, flow, and expression. This allows me to take a more holistic view of playing music. My experience gives me the belief that music can be used as a tool to develop the mind and body through awareness and strategy, not just chance.

My understanding of music has affected the way I perceive the world, and the way I move through it. I enjoy sharing that with my students.

I teach a lot of skills and instruments. My greatest joys are teaching the violin, and music production.

The violin is an instrument that is incredibly simple conceptually and, when played, provides an infinite opportunity for variation. The process of learning involves stripping that infinite variety into a set of simple ideas that are learned, ingrained, and, eventually, the variety is reintroduced and creative ability begins to show itself in a usable form. Using the violin as a fun and rewarding method of self expression, and a tool for sharpening the mind and the body provides a powerful combination that, when approached with regular practice, can provide a depth of benefit far beyond possessing a new skill.

Music production is a huge part of music, a bigger part of the future of music. And every great musician is a producer in one sense or another. To me, production is seeing the big picture. To decide what you want the hear, to imagine a sound, an arrangement, a complete track or album, and to bring it into the world complete with all the precision and happy accidents that go along with that process, that is music production. I particularly enjoy teaching electronic music production through Pro Tools, Ableton Live (what I use the most personally), or Fruity Loops. I'm comfortable with most modern software relating to music. And I will guide you through the process of learning effects, recording techniques, sound design, songwriting, composing, arranging, and mixing, to create the music that reflects your imagination.

I’ve had the privilege of taking some minor violin lessons as well as some piano lessons from Josh, and even had the pleasure of having him on my 3rd album as a collaborator. As an instructor, he was able to explain these new musical instrument endeavors for me, and remind me of the the thrill of overcoming a hurdle when it comes to composing and teaching yourself. I’ve been playing guitar for about 17 years now, so that hurdle was many years ago. I highly recommend Josh for instruction at all age and experience levels.

About Leanne

You can call me Ms. L or Ms. Y, but I am a highschool senior and I simply love passing on what I have experienced to those around me. Since I am a little young I hope we'd get well together. I have been playing the piano for a decade and will continue to take my own private lessons and teach you what I have learned from them.

I am able to give my students the warmup’s and pieces for whatever level they are currently in and will improve on.

"Great Voice Teacher!

I really enjoy my voice lessons with JoAnn. She is a great teacher! I've been taking voice lessons with JoAnn for a few years now an
d am so happy with how I sound and feel while singing. I started out as a complete beginner with quite a bit of tension in my body and have progressed along nicely these past few years.

JoAnn is extremely knowledgeable about music and really enjoys sharing that knowledge with her students. She is passionate about music and teaching. JoAnn is patient and really makes an effort communicate effectively with her students. I’ve always appreciate her enthusiasm and the effort she puts into planning my lessons.

JoAnn also has a lovely music studio. It is comfortable, private, light, and airy with a nice view of her backyard. Her music studio is quiet and I never have trouble hearing her, myself, or the keyboard."

"I have been taking guitar lessons with Ahmad for at least five years now and have become not only a much more knowledgeable guitar player, but also a more
confident one. My favorite thing about lessons with Ahmad is how he teaches in a multifaceted way while also catering to your musical interests. You are never simply learning songs - you are also learning how to read music and the theory behind the music you are learning. I would highly recommend Ahmad to any beginner or even an intermediate to advanced musician - Ahmad is immensely talented and you will never leave his lessons without learning something new! He is far and away the best guitar teacher I have ever worked with!"

I will continue to provide feedback here when I see fit. But 5 stars based on first impressions. Great guy. Great skills. Great articulation of concepts and extremely knowledgeable. Extremely."

"Jenny does a great job!

I have little background in music, but with others playing instruments in my home, I decided to learn the piano. I knew Jenny gav

She has been exceptionally patient and understanding; I don't always get to practice as much as I would like due to other commitments. Jenny has shared techniques and her years of wisdom to help me progress. I have been working with Jenny for about 8 months and am pleased with the progress I am making. I highly recommend her!"
