For kids aged 6-10, a rhythm workshop that can be tailored for one on one teaching, and will develop a playful familiarity with rhythm and music!
Because familiarity with music is actively sought (for itself and as an introduction to art in general), the manufacturing of small devices used as personal percussion instruments should also be part of the workshop. In order to do so, small objects will be needed. Among them small glass jars, cardboard tubes, rice and/or different beans, and discarded keys and key rings.
The workshop is sure to develop many aspects that will positively affect the future life of the participants, whether they choose to pursue music or not.
Concentration, internalization of and familiarization with abstraction, mental and physical coordination and control, and art appreciation all converge to improve positive thinking and self confidence.
I was born in Caen, Normandy, France. I studied drums and percussion and obtained a unanimous first-prize at the Seine Saint-Denis drums competition. I also attended workshops under the direction of great drummers such as Max ROACH, Clifford JARVIS and Jack DeJOHNETTE. I performed in virtual
He was very flexible with adjusting to my varying schedule.
My son, Liam, eally enjoys his drum lessons with Renaud. He comes home excited about what he has learned and goes straight to his drums to show us. Renaud is teaching him the fundamentals, as well as challenging him with new rhythms. Liam's ability to read and write music has improved, as well as his speed. We are very pleased.

Ear training is an essential skill for all musicians. I teach music as a language, using the same methods and books employed at conservatories. Students will develop their "ear" with a real understanding of music theory, rhythm, pitch accuracy, tonal memory, and sight reading. I teach fixed and moveable Do solfege, and will tailor my curriculum to meet the learning methods and goals of my students. I have had students go from not being able to match pitch to being accepted to choral groups on merit of sight reading abilities.

I took bass lessons with Jeff in my formative years as a musician (as did many of my friends). He is the perfect teacher: Highly skilled, informative, patient, friendly, challenging and a lot of fun!
Jeff was more than willing to teach me things I wanted to know but more importantly, he set me straight on developing good technique, note and chord chart reading, understanding theory, ear training and improvising. He also turned me on to tons of great life changing music that was not yet on my young radar! He is a walking encyclopedia of musical knowledge.
Lastly, he has remained a friend throughout my whole life. I've even had the honor of playing many gigs with him, something I would have never imagined as a young beginner!
From beginners to advanced students, Jeff is your man.
Thank you for everything, Master Stetson!"
All in all excellent!!!"
