About Marsha
The Recital was fabulous- thanks for all your work.

Goals: Since I am also a Life Coach, we really focus on how to accomplish our hopes and desires. We begin by weekly, then monthly and even a yearly goal.

Each week we also focus on something in my STUDENT PAL - mnemonic. Another is TECHNIQUE. Technique is the ability to have proper position, wrist-lifts and finger curve as well as Theoretic knowledge and application.

I started giving out lickable gold stars, you know, the old-fashioned kind? They are for those students who mark their lesson sheet and come prepared... They really seem to enjoy that, and I adore the nostalgia!

It is a great week when students are nearly all prepared and ready for their lessons. This makes both Coach and student more effective and the time together more enjoyable.

Perhaps you are reading
this with both a little excitement and a little concern. Finding the right person for your or your student can be intimidating. A short introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy which can assist you make an informed decision. If we are a good fit, lessons and learning progress more joyfully.

I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven. I have since taught the students of former students! How fun is that?

Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Teaching at the Young Artists Conservatory of Music; Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years has been a delight.

I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons, which we revisit monthly. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them/you to accomplish the goals set, working with music that delights and educates.

You want the best teacher, who offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's own "voice" (whether playing or singing) so that they can be free to create their own style.

*** Lesson Details ***
In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano can learn how to create and write their own music in time, choose their own pieces to work on, and have a say in their classical and performance goals.

We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills, complete with awards and trophies.

What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.

Learning the piano ought to be a JOY. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.

*** Travel Equipment ***
No travel.

*** Specialties ***
Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I can easily adapt to your favourite if that is your desire. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.

I am a professional Saxophone, Clarinet, and Flute player. I have been composing my own music for video games and short films, and working as a mixing engineer for a couple years now, just really exploring many different aspects of music. I have a degree from Utah Valley University in Commercial Music, and spent most of that degree on the performance aspect of music.

My Saxophone students can expect some of the fun and some of the practical. We will be working on articulation, tone production, intonation, breathing, different forms of vibrato and many other aspects of control over the saxophone while learning songs that you as the student want to learn.

I have been taking piano lessons for 15 years, and turning around and teaching the techniques and abilities to my students have been really fun! We work on the fundamentals, but we
focus on learning cool songs and do things that few other instruments can do.

I have a lot of fun with music theory. I try to be practical in what students need to know, but can teach much more. I have a jazz background and can teach jazz theory, including comping and improvisation.

Hello! Let me start by thanking you for your interest in private horn lessons! They are a great way to express yourself or make band class at school even more fun by staying ahead of the curve.

I started my career at Florida State University and majored in both Music Education and Horn Performance. During my four years at Florida State I performed at two international horn conferences, a regional and national College Band Directors Association convention, and competed at two southeastern horn workshops. While in Tallahassee, I won the 2nd horn position with the Tallahassee Symphony and section horn with the Sinfonia Gulf Coast. I also received numerous honors including the Big Arts Classical Music Scholarship and runner up for the Florida State Young Artist Concerto Competition. After graduating in 2017 I was awarded the graduate bras
s quintet fellowship at The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where I continue to grow as musician under the guidance of world-renown hornist and pedagogue Denise Tryon.

During my performance career I spent my spare time teaching students! From 2014 to now I have taught many private students some of which have performed with honor ensembles. I also taught in the Florida Public School system in 2018 as a brass clinician and orchestra director. It is extremely important for a teacher to have both playing and instructional experience which is a quality I take pride in.

Chris was a great teacher and help to our daughter. He was also very flexible with our schedule and often helped us move the time to fit perfectly...on Sunday no less! Within a short time both her band leader and us could hear the difference in her performance. Super nice nice guy too and that’s coming from a Gators fan (if you follow college football you will understand this). Best of luck up there Chris!

I am not your classically trained guitar player, I learned how to play guitar through online videos and playing/jamming with as many people as possible. This was tough because I couldn't ask questions or receive encouragement throughout the process. Now I want YOU to be able to learn from my mistakes and jump through the ranks of guitar much more quickly and efficiently than I did. I've learned in the music industry you HAVE to stand out, so we will focus on what kind of music you love and I'll help you harness what makes you unique. At the end of the day, however, I cannot practice for you. The students I work with must have a strong passion for music and be ready to put in the hard work it takes to kickstart your playing to the next level.

A little about me: I've been a touring musician in Nashville, TN for almost 10 years. I'v
e performed in just about every venue around town- from the gritty honky-tonks to the iconic stages of The Grand Ole' Opry and the Ryman Auditorium. I play guitar, sing, piano, harmonica, and write songs. My experience and networks within this industry will help you achieve YOUR musical success.

As a passionate musician, I strive to find the gifts in all of my students by instilling a good relationship that fosters musical growth. Teaching piano and voice has been the most rewarding and integral part of my professional career.
A graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, I was actively involved as a music major as I gained my bachelor of science in music education. I performed as a member of the Celebration show choir as well as the University Chorale. My piano training began at the age of six and continues today. I now enjoy singing with my church choir, and singing as a soloist at my church.
One thing that has been important to me as I raised my children is that they were exposed to music and developed a true love of it. As young adults, we now enjoy as a family singing and playing instruments together to share our gi

I have been a professional musician and teacher for over 20 years. I have a Bachelor's in Music Composition and a Master's in Elementary Education.

My teaching style is centered around teaching music through creative exploration. In my years as a teacher, I've run across many different teachers & students who all have varying teaching/learning styles. The one constant is that good teachers adapt their learning style to fit the student's learning style. A student cannot and should not adapt their learning style to fit a teacher's teaching style.

For anyone who has taken one or two lessons and quit, the question is not whether music lessons were right for you, but whether the teacher was right for you. I can get as formal or informal as you'd like, but would never sit a 5 year old down and insist that they only sight read standard
notation and work on finger exercises.

I have experience teaching children and adults from 5 to 95. I'd be more than happy to provide references!

First, let me start with the fact that I never write reviews. In this case I will make an exception. As a mother of two, I barely have time to go grocery shopping, let alone learn guitar. My husband bought me a guitar for Christmas and I got Michael’s name from an old high school friend who said he’s no longer in our area, but does online lessons. I’ve been able to schedule a lesson once a week online at 9:30 PM when the kids are asleep. I love the convenience, but even more, I’m so happy to have Michael to teach me at my level and on my terms. You rock!

Mike is truly a great teacher because he actually cares about his students’ progress and enjoyment level. My son got a guitar for Christmas and took lessons at our local music store for about a month and quit because he said it was boring. He loves music, so he continued on his own for a couple years u til her decided to pursue it more seriously. Mike was referred through a family friend and Matthew couldn’t be happier with him. He can’t wait to practice now!!
