Several years tutoring and teaching several math areas and education in mathematics

About Kevin
I have had a fairly diverse musical background, including playing with bands and orchestras, as well as participating in choral groups and opera. I have a master's degree in music performance for wind conducting, and a bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis on piano performance.

I have taught private lessons for several years now and I love every moment with my students! I have a real passion for sharing my knowledge and experience with others, both failures and successes. I believe everyone has creative potential, and I believe music is a real universal art form that anyone can tap into if they want. Above all, making and creating music should also be fun!

*** Lesson Details ***
I try to keep my lessons professional but comfortable too. I don't yell at students for messing up or anything like that. I usually have an agenda b
ut am willing to adjust and compromise if the situation dictates. If you don't have a curriculum in mind, I like Alfred's piano courses, but will do my best to find one that fits you as a student best. My initial goals are to make sure the basics of reading music and performing are set so that no matter what musical avenue you want to pursue, you will be successful. I do specialize in classical music but enjoy creating and playing in other genres as well.

I now also offer lessons online, as well as tutoring in most math areas!

***CANCELLATION POLICY***
I kindly ask for 24 hour notice whenever possible if a lesson is going to be missed. Generally speaking, if I don't hear from a student and their lesson time passes I will mark the lesson as missed, but I am also usually more than willing to make up the lesson at a later time.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a piano keyboard at my home.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I would expect students to have their own instruments as needed, as well as music paper, pencils, etc. I may be able to provide some of those materials on occasion as well as some books/recordings, but will by and large expect students to purchase those for themselves.

*** Specialties ***
I am much more familiar with classical styles and Broadway. My music writing style tends to be somewhere between neo-classical and avant-garde.

She is currently pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in Music Education(Instrumental) at Rowan University with the mindset of having a performance and education masters. About Professor (Kair) R.

I teach mathematics from a graphics, as well as real world perspective. Students learn to understand the underlying elements of a concept and then use that understanding to solve both numerical and verbal problems. I prefer to facilitate instruction basic mathematics. If one has the foundation, then everything else is apricots and sprinkles math wise. I prefer to assist students who need help understanding basic algebra and basic geometry. I am not averse to working with elementary level mathematics for pre-secondary level students. I have worked with pre-schoolers to college freshman in need of assistance with College Algebra. That is where math fun lies for me-- in helping to set the groundwork.

About Professor (Kair)
I love to teach and especially love to teach math and writing. I like to focus on mathematics, which to me is like writing, because students sometimes think that if they are good at one (for example, writing) then they cannot be good at the other. I am here to tell you that you can understand and be good at both. I teach both. My writing (as well as literature and speech communication students) learn from me and get to think mathematically while my math students get to think like writers (everything is planned and is a process). It may sound complicated or strange, but it really is not. Math is pure fun! Math is about patterns, and colours, and music, and shapes, and just about everything that makes ideas come to life! Like my writing students embark upon a journey toward being successful in an area in which they may not have had much suc
cess in the past. So, I say to all who wish to work with me: Hold your breath. Exhale with a smile. Dive into the world of math and math sense!

I'm an experienced math teacher of 5 years and I love helping others to discover the excitement and beauty of math! I believe that everyone has the ability to do math, and I work to tailor my lessons to each student's unique way of thinking. Most of my teaching experience has been with students who do not naturally gravitate towards mathematical thinking. I enjoy finding ways to translate math concepts into various forms so that students can understand them more easily. Sometimes that means drawing a picture or using a metaphor - I keep exploring with my students until we have found the solution together. My goal is to give my students confidence and tools to be able to master math on their own.

About Clare
I teach both math and sewing/quilting because these are the two things I am most passionate about and enjoy doing! Math and sewing are not a usual combination, but for me the combination of interests make sense. Both math and sewing involve combinations of pattern and form, and there are visual and procedural elements to solving math problems and completing a sewing project. While I don't expect that many of my students will be interested in both subjects, I am excited to be able to offer both and pursue both of my interests!

I have a background in both math and teaching, with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and masters degree in education. I've worked in education, data analysis, and teaching, but I most enjoy working one-on-one with students through tutoring. I work to help students realize how much they already know and
give them confidence for mastering new math skills.

I also have 20 years of experience in sewing and quilting many different projects both for myself and others. I'm excited to share my love of sewing with my students and empower others to create unique clothing, quilts, or home decor.

About Amy D.

My philosophy in teaching math is unique in that I focus on explaining concepts by breaking them down to be as simple as possible, but not simpler. In other words, I break down ideas into pieces that are easy to explain and understand, and in a way that is simple and straightforward. I believe that is a strength that I have as a teacher, and I enjoy seeing my students learn how to break things down in the same way!

About Amy
Hello!

My name is Amy. I am a math teacher with experience as a civil engineer. I love working with students one-on-one, because that is when I see the most growth! I have over 7 years of private tutoring experience, and enjoy learning new ways to explain concepts to my students.

If you are in need of a math tutor, message me and let me know! We can set up a time to meet locally, at a library or coffee shop, and discuss your needs. Online is always great too.

Best Regards,
