I have been teaching Italian for 5 years now, I have traveled to Italy numerous times spending time with Italian-only speaking families and I enjoy talking about almost anything Italian. If you are looking for lessons and you are just beginning or have been speaking for some time I would love to help you improve your knowledge of the language to become a fluent speaker.

About Christopher
Hello! Hola! Benvenuto! My name is Christopher S. and I am a classical guitarist, composer, polyglot, and experienced language and music teacher.

I am a recent graduate with a Doctorate of Music Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. I also graduated with my M.M. fro the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. There I studied with the world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk who is a direct student of the legendary guitarist Andres Segovia.

Currently, I work part-time teaching 12 students guitar at the University of South Carolina, in Columbia. I also teach ukulele, Spanish, Italian, and English to a variety of students online. I have also just completed my debut album titled, "Anima - The Music of Spain and Italy for the Guitar." This album is a tribute and memorial to an amazing journey I had traveling and living
in Europe for 3 years.

After I graduated from my undergraduate degree, I realized that in order to better my skills as a musician and become the guitar teacher I wanted to be I had to travel abroad. I moved to Seville, Spain where for three years I studied the art of classical and flamenco guitar.

I studied with an internationally known Spanish guitarist named Francisco Bernier at the Conservatory in Seville. During this time I was also teaching English as a second language to high school and middle school students. From traveling and spending so much time in Europe, I also developed and studied my love of languages and I became fluent in Spanish and Italian.

The experienced was an experience of a lifetime and I made many friends working and living abroad that to this day, I still keep in contact with.

If you are interested in having lessons with me, please contact me and we can begin learning the art of making beautiful music or learning the beautiful languages of the Mediterranean! "Hasta pronto!" "A presto!" and "Speak to you soon!"

Ciao! Sono Lorena! I am a native Italian speaker. I am from Treviso, a beautiful town located near Venice. I would like to help you learn this beautiful language in a fun way. Tell me your goals and I can tailor the class according to them. Maybe you want to learn some basic words to get around Italy for an upcoming holiday or perhaps you study it years ago and you would like to improve it. Maybe you want to learn some words and phrases to impress your date. Or perhaps you like a particular Italian song and you would like to understand the meaning and learn how to sing it!

About Lorena
Ciao! I am a native Italian living in the USA for several years now.
My background is in foreign languages and I love traveling and meeting new people. I studied English and French in Italy before spending two years in England working and studying to perfectionate English where I also learned conversational Spanish.
Once in the USA I started working in the information technology field for a company that had a branch in Italy. I had to assist, translate and teach different materials in Italian and I also did some freelancing tutoring.
I have three children and I also speak and teach Italian to them only. It has been fun to see them being comfortable in speaking Italian when we go to Italy. I try to travel to Italy at least once a year.

My other passion is cooking and baking. I was lucky that I grow up with both my parents
as excellent cooks. We had a vegetable garden, fruit trees and livestocks so most of the ingredients were fresh. I started cooking a lot when I moved to USA as I missed the Italian dishes very much and I realized my only connection to my country was via the food.

I also have a love for fashion! Growing up in Italy means being surrounded by beauty everywhere.. the marvelous architecture and art, the language and music, the beautiful landscapes, the fruits of nature and the fashion! I believe because of this most Italians develop a sense of style. When I moved here I realized how much harder was to find unique clothes and accessories so I enjoy the challenge to put together outfits with what I have available.

Lorna was great baking with my 12 year old grandson. He was awaiting hip surgery so the class was a great distraction for him and the end product a beautiful chocolate cake to take home was a fun reward.
Lorna was very well prepared, had all the ingredients and tools laid out, let my grandson do much of the work measuring, mixing etc and even had baked a similar cake the night before so there would be a cool cake to frost and decorate.
His review: it was great.

After you have experienced a cooking lesson with Lorena you will feel like you have visited Venice Italy.
Her birth place. Lorena will share simple, healthy recipes you will use for a lifetime. I learned so much from her and I'm already a glorified chef. Her signature dishes with all the Venetian secrets can be revealed in her kitchen or yours. She's a very good listener and will adapt to what your family likes to eat. I will continue my lessons after the New Year... wanting to pare wine with the food . Another hidden talent .thank you Lorena

Speak beautiful, authentic Italian, and enjoy every moment of the learning process! I enjoy helping and inspiring students of all ages. As both a certified teacher and private tutor, I offer highly individualized, fun and engaging lessons to meet your personal goals, interests and learning styles. I use a variety of materials, including conversational dialogues, practical role-plays, music, videos, cartoons, and more. I hold a B.A., M.A. and Doctorate in Modern Languages and specialize in language instruction. We always infuse culture into each language lesson, and you will see I cater to your specific interests or future travel plans. I have been told my passion for Italian language and culture is contagious. If you would like a patient, personable, knowledgeable, creative and fun-loving teacher who can quickly figure out how you learn best and what motivates you - look no further!

About Sabrina
Buon giorno, I'm Sabrina. I hold a B.A., M.A. and Doctorate in Modern Languages (in Italian and French), and specialize in language instruction. I have spent the past 20+ years working with students of all ages, as both a classroom teacher and a private tutor, and offer highly individualized and engaging lessons to meet your personal goals, interests and above all, learning styles. I provide extensive feedback and encouraging guidance to help students continue to succeed independently.

I love sharing my knowledge of and passion for the Italian language and culture with others. I infuse a variety of cultural topics into each language lesson, depending on your personal interests and/or travel plans. You will certainly find my passion contagious! But I realize learning a language isn't easy for everyone, and it can be quite intimidating to
feel confident while speaking. That's why you need a teacher who can figure out what works for you, how you learn, and what motivates you. Everyone can speak beautiful Italian, and engage in conversations for business or pleasure, but it takes a knowledgeable instructor to help get you there efficiently. I can quickly assess and pinpoint your strengths to design activities that help you precisely where and how you need it, and have plenty of effective tricks up my sleeve.

I lived and worked in Italy for about 10 years, in educational tourism, and since moving back to the US I have taught Italian at both the High School and University/College levels for about 4 years each, as well as Community and Continuing Adult Education classes for the past 6 years, and I have training in AP exam prep. Although I have native-fluency, I have myself been a student of foreign languages, and know the struggles that come along with this exciting adventure. I know how to help you get past those hurdles, and have fun along the way.

To learn more about me, my lessons, or to ask me any questions, do not hesitate to send me a message and I will respond within a few hours. I look forward to hearing from you. A presto! (Talk to you soon.)

I studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a year where I lived with a host family. I obtained a minor in Italian Studies where I took a wide range of courses related to Italian language and culture. I tutored university level students that were beginners and intermediate level students.

About Jorge
I’m a French Graduate Teaching Associate and a Portuguese Graduate Assistant at SDSU. I will obtain my MA in French spring 2020. Then, I plan to continue my studies at UC Berkley where I want to obtain a PhD in Romance Languages and Linguistics. I obtained a BA in French, a BA in Linguistics, a minor in Italian Studies and a TESL certificate from SDSD back in spring of 2018.

I have learned several languages that I would consider myself a language aficionado. I understand the time and dedication that it takes to learn a foreign language specially when you don’t get the daily exposure to the language and culture. Therefore I consider myself a patient person that wants the best for his students regardless of the language they are learning. What matters is the satisfaction of the student in obtaining their language goal.

My goal is t
o obtain my PhD and teach French, and Italian language and linguistics.

About Pedro
I am an Opera Singer, currently based in the NYC area. I finished my undergrad in vocal performance at Universidad Central in Bogotá, Colombia and Master’s degree in music performance at the University of Denver.

The learning process is very different from one person to the other and this applies to languages, indeed. However, no matter what your pace is and what your goals are in a subject, my goal will always be making sure that you are learning something new every time, and of course, that you reach your goals in the process. Your process is personal and my job is to take the best from you.

Respect singing, I believe every person has a unique instrument, and no matter how easier or harder it could be for some people, anyone can develop his/her own instrument to the fullest!
