Become comfortable with daily conversational Japanese. I also offer music lesson in Japanese.

About Asuka
I started my musical training as a pianist at YAMAHA institute at age 4 in Japan. I was selected to enter perfect pitch class. It was designated for students who have perfect pitch and potentials to be professional musicians.

I enjoyed playing piano and electric piano and won the 1st prize at Kitakantou Electric Piano Competition hosted by YAMAHA institute. Because of the intensive training, I have been accompanying my students' recitals and performance exams.

As much as I enjoyed playing piano, I discovered that I also love singing, so I started to take singing lessons and majored in vocal performance during my college days.

Since I have graduated, I have been performing opera professionally. My career highlights include roles as Cio-cio san(Madame Butterfly) with Snob Opera, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Fairy(Falstaff) with Sir B
ryn Terfel with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Liverpool, England, Dorinda(Orlando) with Cantanti Project, Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Opera Manhattan Studio, Frasquita (Carmen) with One World Symphony, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola) with Capitol Heights Opera, Alice (Le comte Ory) with West Side Opera Society, Adele (Die Fledermaus), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Myrrhine (Lysistrata) with Opera Avanti, Gilda (Rigoletto) with Académie Internationale d'Eté de Nice, and The First Spirit (Die Zauberflöte) with the Opera Company of Brooklyn.

My international credits include performances under the direction of Conductor Laurent Pillot at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Liverpool, England;the Académie Internationale d'Eté de Nice, France; the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program in Chianti,Italy; the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv, Israel where I was selected to sing for the Japanese Ambassador.

I made appearances as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Town Hall, and MOMA museum in New York City and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

As a versatile singer, I was presented as an aspiring opera singer on the website of Maybelline New York. Her voice was featured in short films for the Japanese technology company NEC. I appeared as a soprano soloist for the opera, Jazz and theater collaboration of "TAKE ABITE" by David Antonio Cruz. I also sings Broadway songs and continues her musical theater studies. She is an active recitalist and also performs Oratorio works.

I was also a finalist at the Opera Idol Competition at Lincoln Center in New York City, The Hariclea Darclée Voice Competition in Romania and the Mario Lanza and Elaine Malbin Vocal Competition in New York City. Ms. Uchida was selected as a vocal scholarship recipient at Savannah music festival.

My upcoming engagement includes singing the role of Gilda in Rigoletto and Oscar in Un ballo in maschera in 2018 in New York City.

Besides being an opera singer, I have been teaching piano and voice for 11 years. I would like to share my skills and experience with you. Since I perform often, I can coach you how to perform on stage in addition to building solid technique and languages. Also, I have taught various kinds of music, such as Rock, Broadway musicals, Pop music, so we can work on all kind of music.

I look forward to teaching you soon!

*** Lesson Details ***
My students can expect to improve their skills and start to enjoy music more as we work together.
I believe that learning music is fun and enjoyable. However you also need to be serious and focused.
I can demonstrate various and specific techniques, phrasing, and interpretation and will always coach on how to develop your skills. However, I feel it is important for students to think critically on their own and take the first try at solving a problem themselves. I cannot emphasize enough that primarily it is you who find the ways to improve. Leaning music is a collaboration between teachers and students. I hope that through my lessons, students will become more self-sufficient and confident as musicians.
Let me help you become a better musician.

I really love taking voice lessons with Asuka-sensei! It's a lot of fun, and I can tell that she listens very well because she immediately helps me with the areas I struggle with - whenever I come across them in the music. I really appreciate the way she coaches voice exercises, and I think they have immensely helped me get a better tone and sound. Even from the first lesson, I instantly heard a clear difference in my voice! She is seriously talented!!

今日は and welcome to learning Japanese, I have a bachelor's degree in Japanese language and culture from the Ohio State University, and I have tutored Japanese before and it really isn't as intimidating as it looks. I've learned through many ways and I have many many resources that I will gladly share with you so you can learn on your own, whether you're a beginner or advanced, I can direct you to how to become very fluent with all my knowledge and resources combined. Also as a bonus I will teach you some kanji calligraphy if interested as well.

About Moataz
I am a Freelance Graphic Designer living in Stamford, Connecticut. I love learning and teaching, like a lot. I teach languages, Lettering, branding, and the basics of Graphic design as well as the adobe programs that bring it to life.

My promise to you is that I will teach you everything I know in the time I'm given and provide you with all sorts of outside resources to get you on your way to fluency and proficiency.

I'll make sure to do my absolute best to get you speaking a new language from day one, learning a Design program immediately, or teaching you how to letter with the rules they don't teach you in school. And best of all, I'll even show you how to actually make money with all of these.

I have a very unique journey into learning where I experienced many places and got a fresh and different understanding to the many su
bjects that I teach. For example my knowledge of multiple languages and travel to different countries gave me an added knowledge of linguistics that I experienced first hand and confirmed in books, so now I know how languages work, and can relate a concept from one language to another even if the languages seem completely different.

My Design work has been very general so I've done a lot of different things before I specialized in hand lettering, so I've done it all from advertisements on billboards to website design and development, to copywriting, to branding from start to finish for companies big and small.

My love for lettering and Calligraphy emerged when I started getting more Logos for client work and my exploration of type wasn't the best answer most of the time so I would letter everything myself, and the rest is history.

I am really passionate about learning and even more passionate about sharing what I've learned. I am efficient, I know what works for different people since I taught in classrooms and tutored way before I knew about Takelessons, and I'm most proud of being praised as a very genuine person. A very common compliment I get is that I sincerely want my students to do well. And it makes me really happy every time someone says it, and I hope that one day you see that and tell me the same thing.

Feel free to find out more about me and ask me anything you want, and I really look forward to one day teach you something that will get you to achieve your goals! :)

Just so there are no surprises, I raise my prices very slightly every 3 months, next time it will go up is on March 3rd 2017. The reason for this is because I get better and more efficient at teaching as time goes by, so that hour that you get now is much more packed with value than the same hour last year or last month.

The Japanese language and everything about Japan has been a central part of my existence for most of my life. As I mastered Japanese I went through the same problems you will and that's why I can accelerate your learning speed. I know strategies and ways that helped me navigate this tricky language so you reach your goals fast. I am looking forward to working with you to achieve your goals!

About Aaron
Japanese and everything about Japan is my passion. I first started learning Japanese in high school and studied abroad in Japan through AFS for a year while living with a host family. While I was there I passed level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), a first for any AFS student at the time. I went on to attend the Japanese language school Yamasa in Aichi, Prefecture and then passed level 1 of the JLPT at age 20. Afterward, I attended Nanzan University where I graduated from the Business Management Department in 2009. Since graduating I have worked as a freelance translator and interpreter for 9 years.

Through my experiences learning Japanese and living in Japan I can answer any questions you may have about the language or culture. I enjoy teaching everyone from beginner's to those studying advanced Japanese to enter a
university or work in Japan. Unlike a native Japanese speaker, I am able to systematically explain grammar and other technical areas in a way that will make sense. You can then quickly utilize these techniques to accelerate your own learning.

Each lesson will be tailored to the specific area you would like to study and improve. If you would like to work on conversational Japanese for instance, I can teach you informal Japanese so you can have conversations with friends or dive deeper into a hobby you may have such as anime, J-pop or video games. Learning in a fun and relaxing atmosphere is important and will help you learn quicker and retain information.

Hey guys !! Whether you are a lover of Anime, Jpop or need to know Japanese for business or just to show your friends , you have reached the right person !! :) I have 15 years of experience when it comes to the Japanese Language. And I absolutely love it !! I can proudly say that I am proficient in the language. I can speak fluently , understand and write fluently in Furigana (Hiragana and Katakana) I've learned from courses, friends, programs, music, immersion, books etc, you name it I've done it and has had major success. I will teach in a fun and interactive way and we will build up from the fundamentals of words to complete sentences. You WILL be proficient and comfortable in Japanese in no time !

About Anthony
I have 12 years experience in teaching Japanese as a tutor. Occupation wise I am a Electrical Engineer Major, Entrepreneur, Author, Motivational Coach and Language Enthusiast. I am a firm believer that we really can do anything we put our minds too. My main focus and purpose is to HELP and add VALUE to as many lives as possible. I am solely interested in the progression and success of the student. It is my duty for me to teach you as much information on the Language in the most comprehensive way possible.

I'm originally from Long Island City, New York. I had a teacher of Japanese descent and she always brought her culture to the classroom. I was 10 years old, and I used to ask her questions about the way she would dress and her mannerisms and she would tell me anything I wanted to know. The culture is where it began for me, but the lang
uage is what took me on a whole different level of mentality and understanding.

I began learning the language at the age of 12 from a Japanese friend. At age 14 I learned from online courses and music, it was so intriguing to me that I began self study. At age 17 is when my listening skills began to kick in. I was understanding not only music but some Anime, this is when it really got fun lol. At age 20, is when I reached advance speaking proficiency and was able to understand LIVE dialoge from Natives. I am now 27. I am excited to teach and speak fluent japanese to you guys so you can hear it in it's native form.

So Anthony why should I choose you to be my teacher?

#1 I am literate in Japanese, I speak proper and perfect English so you will understand me lol.

#2 I will talk to you in a relatable way, so you will not feel like you're in a boring lecture, Japanese is an exciting language, so you do not need to feel like you're preached to.

#3 I will make this fun and interactive, keeping you engaged from beginning to end, wanting to know more. Most importantly I will give you as much information in the time given, so you can leave knowing your money is well spent.

#4 Lastly I can teach you formal and informal Japanese. I will give you all the key components to the Japanese Language without the fluff. In most language instruction there are key things to know mixed with fluff. This is what makes students lose interest or get confused. There will be no fluff in my class, everything that I teach you will be a key component to your language learning success.

So what are you waiting for ? Your success starts here !! Let's do this !! :)

Having attended American school on the weekdays and a total-immersion Japanese school on the weekends (and coming home to parents who only spoke Japanese), I was lucky enough to grow up completely bi-lingual. With over a decade of experience teaching in private and classroom settings, I make my lessons fun, high-energy, and tailor-made to each individual. Please feel free to send me a message, and let's learn some Japanese! Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!

About Laura
Hello! I am a NYC-based singer, pianist, actress, and animal-lover. Born and raised in Los Angeles, my artistic career began as a classical pianist, performing in venues across California, Japan, and Austria from a very young age. As a singer, I performed around the world with the Broadway tour of Avenue Q, and I've been seen in dozens of musical theatre and Shakespeare productions throughout the U.S. and even in Russia!

By combining my two passions of singing and playing piano, I served as Artist-in-Residence for California Musical Theatre Company, Sacramento Theatre Company, and the cell theatre in NY.

I've been teaching in NYC for over a decade, and my passion is to inspire the next generation of creative people of all ages.

When it comes to music, there is a quote that I love: "Every expert was once a beginner." This quote reflect
s my philosophy on pursuing the arts: that it's never too late to start and that no matter where you are in your musical journey, practice is the key to success. Mastering a skill requires discipline and dedication, and my goal is to help you find joy and inspiration along the way.

My lessons focus on building a strong foundation of technique, which gives you the freedom to explore your creativity and musicality; it is very important for me that my students strive not only for technical precision but also for musical artistry. Together, we will set a practice schedule that you can adhere to regularly, and I'll make sure to send you away with specific instructions each week on how to practice effectively.

With my fun, high-energy approach to teaching, you are guaranteed to enjoy the journey as you take significant steps toward becoming an expert. I'm looking forward to meeting you and getting started soon!

I met Laura at Harvard University when we were both doing our MFA degrees in acting. Since our program was not a Musical Theater one and I was not a singer, I started to take private lessons with her to compliment some of the training in singing we were getting there.

Laura is a fantastic singer and actor. She has an incredible ear as well as great knowledge and experience of what makes a singing performance pop. All this makes her an outstanding coach.

Even now after graduation, I am still training with her. Our focus now is on continuing the development of my singing voice. My goal is to reach a level where I have the skill and confidence to audition professionally for musicals, and I know I am in great hands.

Laura is a great music teacher! She was my voice teacher before she went to grad school and I learned a lot from her. Her approach to singing is wonderful (she doesn't only teach you how to sound good but also how to act through songs) and it's really important especially if you are pursuing musical theatre. Not only that, I had so much fun during her lessons! I highly recommend her to be your voice/music teacher! :)

My teaching style is flexible and I want to find learning methods that work best for you. Do you learn more when you talk a lot? Let's do a conversation class! Do you learn by memorizing rules? Let's dive into the mechanics of Japanese! I believe that the best way to learn a language is by being immersed in its culture and finding books, movies or music that will make you want to understand more about Japan. I promise to keep the lessons fun and fascinating!

About Alisa
Translation and language teaching has always been a strong interest of mine. Teaching a difficult language like Japanese and motivating students to keep up with learning can be a challenge, but one that I find rewarding and worthwhile. In terms of tutoring experience, I was a tutor and class assistant for the Oberlin College Japanese department during my undergraduate program and have continued private Japanese tutoring since graduating. I am a professional writer and translator in English and Japanese, with bylines in The Japan Times and other media outlets. An original article of mine published in The Japan Times is currently used for the Kansai Gaidai University entrance exam. I recently moved to New York City in order to pursue a master's degree at New York University in Media, Culture and Communication.

I grew up in Tokyo, Japan wit
h a Japanese father and an American mother, so I was raised to be completely bilingual in Japanese and English. I do Japanese copywriting and translation professionally, as well as quality checking translated scripts for film directors and screenwriters.
