*** Teaching Methods *** I foster a safe, relaxed and engaging environment to explore truthful human behavior on stage.
The objective is 'the truth' to which end there is no one technique. Actors are encouraged to find their own tools and to draw from elements of different practices to discover a technique that works best for them as individuals.
I studied the methods of Constantin Stanislavski for acting with Sergei Pomerov of the Moscow Circus Theater. I am classically trained as well.
I work primarily as a guide to help navigate the way and to interpret ‘the signs.' I teach the lesson in the moment and address the challenges of both the beginner and the experienced actor.
***Classical Work*** My basic approach to classical work focuses primarily on the connection of the breath with the feeling on the word.
This is the foundation on which you can then build. From the ‘words’ to the ‘thoughts’ to entire ‘passages’ of text, as you work and explore, the richness of the playwright’s words comes to life. Your own unique emotional life is allowed to come through the text and you are able to fully embody the role.
*** Teaching Levels and Focuses *** *Beginning Actors -Work With Classical Text. -Vocal Work. -"Moment to Moment" Work. -"Sense Memory" Work.
*Experienced Actors -In depth Classical Text Analysis. -Connecting to the Text. -Audition Technique -Monologue Coaching
***Professionals in the Corporate World*** -A basic understanding of how to present yourself as a speaker. -Address the root cause of your concerns in communicating. -Build a technique to craft a presentation to get the best response from a client or colleague.
I met with Nicholas before an audition. He is a wonderful teacher. He helped me already a great deal during that short hour, on how to approach the material, break it down in a way that will help my performance reach its full potential. I was able to deliver a truthful performance. I am looking forward to more sessions. Many thanks.

Nicholas has been FABULOUS! In a very short time, he's worked on my voice inflection and tones and presentation style. Most importantly, he's given me a framework to think about WHY I'm speaking and has encouraged me every step of the way!
Hi, there! My name is Elizabeth and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2012 and have loved helping my students get into esteemed education programs, succeed in competitions, ace auditions, and gain a sense of mastery over their voices. I went to Carthage College and earned a degree in Musical Theater in 2011, and Bowling Green State University for my Masters in Vocal Performance/Opera in 2015. I'm a friendly and open-minded person and I would describe my teaching style as efficient, creative, and fun. I've worked with students of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to achieve a multitude of different objectives. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
I’ve been taking lessons from Elizabeth for a few months now - I had done voice lessons growing up and am now starting to get back into singing. She has been very helpful, and I really feel like I’ve been improving quickly! She’s very knowledgeable about vocal technique and has been great about helping me strengthen my weak spots and break bad habits.

Elizabeth is a very nice and competent vocal trainer. She always encourages me to try new exercises that help me a lot to improve my singing skills. I also feel very comfortable taking classes with her, and I think that one of the basic things for me when it comes to learn how to sing, a nice atmosphere is necessary to grow faster. She is also helping me with my English pronunciation. I would definitely recommend her.

Elizabeth is an amazing tutor. She is very friendly and funny and makes you feel comfortable doing all kinds of exercise. She collaborated with me on what I wanted/needed to work on most. She helped me improve singing a song that I chose through many elaborated techniques. I learned a lot even though I only took two lessons (because I left the country after that).
Born and raised on Long Island, Carolyn began working professionally at 8 years old and has since appeared on stage, in national commercials, recorded voiceovers, and booked principal roles in both film and television. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2011 from the Boston Conservatory, where she majored in musical theater with an emphasis in directing. In her spare time, Carolyn has always loved working with people who have a passion for the arts. Whether it’s in a classroom, at a dance studio, or sitting at the piano, Carolyn has worn the many hats of acting coach, voice teacher, dance instructor, music theory tutor, piano teacher, and college audition coach to name a few. Getting cast in Broadway shows, winning first place in national dance competitions, receiving perfect scores on vocal/piano NYSSMA solos, and being accepted to
some of the most competitive college programs in the nation are just a few of her clients’ many accomplishments.
Today what's the first lesson for my two girls with Carolyn. All I can say but the lesson was absolutely amazing my girls came out extremely inspired with lots of exciting homework to do they couldn't wait to show me what they've learned and couldn't wait to start practicing Carolyn was everything we were hoping for and a lot more. I have no doubts that would have made the best choice who could possibly make. My girls can't wait for their next lesson.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏👏

Carolyn was very helpful! I’m looking forward to our next session.
I started dancing at the age of 3. I am well versed in Ballet, Modern and Jazz. I attended Joffrey San Antonio (2004) and Paul Taylor New York (2010) intensives.
While in high school I taught Ballet, Jazz, Pre-Pointe and Pointe classes to dancers age 3-14.
In 2011 I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy (which is the art or science of teaching).
Since moving to NYC 5 years ago I have been focused on performing with such dance companies as Exit 12 Dance Company (2011-2012) and Community Dance Project (2013-2014). While not dancing with specific companies I have choreographed and danced in two music videos.
I can't express my love for teaching enough! To know that I could help spark the passion of dance in a young person is extremely inspiring.
lude your area and availability in your messages!
I would prefer to teach students with professional or aerobic goals. Social dancing is not one of my subjects.

Hi! My name is Julia and I am a teacher and coach who graduated from The Juilliard School as well as The Maggie Flanagan Studio. I have taught at Rutgers University, The University of Hawaii as well as coached students in NYC and all around the country via online. I have been teaching since 2003 and coach students in middle school and up. I specialize in working with kids and young adults and their auditions for schools as well as professional auditions. I have a fun approach while also helping my students reach their goals in their work.
Julia is WONDERFUL coach. She helped me find fantastic monologues that were perfect for me. She guided me in a way that really showcased and reached the depths of my talents!! It made me stand out. She is very inspiring.

Julia is great! She is very sweet, nice and is a wonderful coach. Highly recommend!
My approach is both supportive and pragmatic, based on where each individual's skill set is right now and what your specific goals are. I've had the benefit of both formal instruction as well as a decade in the "school of hard knocks." Climbing up the ladder to earn my Equity Card on a Production Contact taught me a lot and I believe gave me a nuanced perspective as a performer.
Over 95% of my career is from attending open calls, including finding representation and my Broadway debut.
I continue to audition for film, television, and theatre, as well as perform in concerts and other venues. I write and produce my own work and am currently signed with Roth and Associates East.
A-mazing! She’s an awesome mentor! Her approach to singing is brilliant in the sense that she helps you explore yourself, your strengths and areas you could work on to improve. She helps you find and utilize your voice in a way that makes a unique artist. She digs in right to the foundation of singing (vocals) and performing. I am glad to have found her! And to add up, I never had a dull moment with her with her sense of humor and caring approach!

Rebecca is wonderful at helping my daughter learn better public speaking skills.

Rebecca immediately made my granddaughter comfortable. Rebecca is a sweet, charming woman who, I can see, works very well with both children and adults. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows how to make people feel good about themselves.
I started learning Flamenco guitar as a teenager, and this allowed me to experience what is necessary for a young mind to learn and grow in this beautiful art form. Its sounds and techniques captivated me and it is that very beauty what will surely keep you learning, regardless of your musical goals or ventures. Flamenco has a charm that is both exotic and sophisticated, and this is what I want to share with you. It is my desire to continue the Flamenco passion and life that allowed me to enjoy entertaining audiences as well as the perhaps more valuable moments of sharing joy with friends and family.
Jessie shows great skill and knowledge in her field. She takes great pride in fulfilling her job responsibilities. She delivers a very c
omfortable learning atmosphere, and she makes it very easy to learn. She is always; fun, friendly, respectful, positive and encouraging. She has great patience and understanding, it's been a privilege to learn from her and build my craft."
"Easy to work with and understood what I needed to work on almost immediately."
"All the classes are very fun. Mr. Larry is very patient and super helpful. I'm enjoying every minute of each class."
"Briana is just what I have needed. She is taking me into new areas to challenge me just as I need, to grow and develop, and become more confident as a dan
cer. Thank you, Briana!"
"She was very informative and very sweet with her honesty. Due to the background she has, her words are extremely dependable."
"AWESOME! I'm taking a beginner screenwriting course at my college but have only written two plays before and nothing for film. We went over the basics and
did sort of a writing boot camp. Now we're workshopping my final project for the semester and I couldn't be happier! Good sense of humor and patient advisor."
"Personable instructor who listens has great advice"
"Elizabeth is very attentive of your individual needs. I take her class when I feel I hit enough walls from the public classes I'm taking and need someone
experienced to guide me personally and answer all the confusions I have. She helped me find my proper hip move and body alignment for my pirouette and also helped me get started on pointe work. I'm now accessed and approved by the Joffery ballet school teacher to join its beginner pointe class, which I'm really excited about."
There's no single "right" way to learn ballet for beginners, but it's always helpful to approach the barre with a basic understanding of its style and positions. No matter what genre your dance instructor teaches, the following fundamentals will always be on the curriculum. From Italy's Cecchetti Method to the cross-genre techniques of contemporary American ballet, these basic positions keep dancers of every level in perfect form.
