As a theorist, piano came natural from a guitar playing background after taking the interval structure of a common chord and incorporating both the left and right hand to explore the same techniques. I do best with requests and start from whatever level my student is coming from. I do everything from Beginning songs to Classical, Rock and modern Pop or Country.

About Jason
TakeLessons.com Instructor since 2005, Jason M. is now available for online lessons worldwide featuring multiple-camera angles and a share screen experience leaving no stone un-turned!

Jason has been playing guitar for over 15 years and teaching music since 1996. Although trained in standard teaching methods, he has developed his own method of teaching to positively enhance the student€™s strength, dexterity, ear-training, memorization and techniques. His goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician.

This year Jason was also the Music Director at the National Guitar Workshop Day Jams Rock Music Day Camp where students ages 7-15 came out to form bands, record original material and master their craft. He also taught beginning to advanced guitar/ vocals/ performance and songwri
ting as hosted a recording clinic at the end of each day.

Jason has host student showcases/charity benefits where his students were able to get on stage and show off their new talent and perform with other musicians. It wasn't mandatory though, if you were just looking to come out and support there was no pressure other than to come out and have fun.

Jason has been transcribing for guitar and bass since the age of 18 and since then has become a master of the craft including both 5 line staff and tablature, hand-crafted exercises and deconstructions to better enhance the students learning. Artists and genres that Jason has experience with range from Classic Rock, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Pierce the Veil, Paramore, All Time Low, Demi Lava to, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, The White Stripes, Green Day, Old Crow Medicine Show, Taylor Swift, Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars, Rob Zombie, John 5, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Van Morrison, the Beatles, AC/DC, ZZ-Top, Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Sublime, Aerosmith, At the Drive In, Type O Negative, the Black Keys, the Pixies, the Toadies, Black Sabbath, Jason Mraz, Lady GaGa, John Mayer and Journey.

Jason attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage where his degree is in Music and Business. He is constantly continuing his education with music theory courses as well as private guitar instruction. He attends guitar workshops and seminars by artists such as John5 and Kerry King who are known as some of the worlds finest guitar players. He reviews every day from a wide range of over 1000 sources working to become a better musician and instructor.

Another nice feature that you might enjoy from one on one sessions with Jason is learning the ability to craft and record your own songs using state of the art technology that caters to your own unique personality. There are no limits!

Jason teaches all experience levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced as well as artists that are signed to labels.

Local news outlet Fox 5 did a segment with one of his students who overcame issues with ADD and depression as a result of taking guitar lessons.

His students advance quickly, some have released albums, been in Guitar World Magazine as well as its online companion and won awards for their music websites.

We feel that we totally lucked out with finding Jason who is a complete gem! He showed up on time and quickly inspired my son with the drawing lessons by having him draw Superheroes! So my son is having a great time with Jason who has a great way of giving feedback and steering Cody using a balance of instructions and positive feedback. Cody is definitely enjoying his lessons and I am seeing real progress. I feel like I did the right thing investing in these lessons and giving Cody a great summer with a wonderful instructor. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Jason for being so great at what you do!

I can help beginning students on piano learn the basics and coach intermediate students on building their skills.

About Thomas
Thomas J. W. is an active music teacher, composer, adjudicator, and clinician in the greater Philadelphia area. He has over fifteen years experience as a concert band director, marching band director, jazz improvisation instructor, choral director, private instructor, and marching drill writer. His directing career has included small rural band programs, small metro programs, large high-achieving suburban programs, and non-profit youth bands. In addition to his band compositions, he also has over forty unpublished vocal arrangements to his credit, most written for use with collegiate men's a cappella groups. Thomas taught over 600 online and local private music lessons in 2016.

Thomas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University. He holds a teaching certificate in the states of Pennsylvania
and New Jersey and has taught at the secondary level in both states. In addition to both instrumental and choral ensembles at Penn State, Thomas was a student leader in the Penn State Blue Band and a member of the brass section of the Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps in 1993 and 1994. He served as an Associate Director of the Warren Junior Military Band of Youngstown, Ohio from 1995 to 2005. He also served as a visual staff member for the renowned North Penn Marching Knights of Lansdale, PA for one season in 2004.

He is a current adjudicator with Drum Corps International and Cavalcade of Bands. He is a member of MENC, PMEA, NJMEA, ASCAP, CASA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and the National Band Association. He appeared in the Marquis Who's Who Among American Educators in 2004 and 2005, an honor rarely bestowed upon teachers, as students who appear in the Who's Who Among American High School Students must nominate them. He currently is a music teacher at the Center for Performing and Fine Arts of the PA Leadership Charter School in West Chester, PA and resides in Downingtown, PA with his wife and two sons.

Thomas will happily work with students on the autism spectrum or students with ADD.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons are tailored to the needs and interests of each student. If a student is involved in school music ensembles, we will work with their lesson books from school in addition to material outside of the books, including SmartMusic, Noteflight, and teacher-created materials. We will focus on building proper tone production and individual technique - something that often is difficult to learn in a large ensemble setting.

I am capable of starting a beginner student on any band instrument including percussion, any classical string instrument (violin, viola, cello, string bass), and piano. I can begin a student on drum set and work with them through their first method book, but I would then recommend they find a specialized drum set teacher after a period of six to twelve months.

For advanced students, I work from selected conservatory etude books on developing advanced skills and can work with students on audition pieces for honors bands/orchestras or college auditions.

My lessons are a half-hour once a week, with the option of working for 45 minutes or 60 minutes.

*** Specialties ***
music, band, orchestra, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, violin, viola, cello, string bass, piano, Percussion

Thomas is honestly an amazing musician and teacher. He was really patient with me. Despite having to deal with major timezone differences (as I live in Myanmar), he took the time to figure it out. Also, he helped me figure out the stuff it took me months to figure out. He also really knows what he's doing. I learned so much in that hour of practice. 10/10 would recommend him.

I have been playing piano as a secondary instrument for 15 years, and I love sharing my knowledge with others. Music is a passion and a learned talent that requires repetition and patience. I can help guide you toward whatever your music goals are, whether you want to play professionally, in a band, or just at home in your spare time.

In just a few lessons you will learn the basic keys on the piano and correct finger positions. As we go on you will be able to play scales and chords. Finally you will learn how to read music and play all of your favorite songs. I start with the legendary John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano, Alfred's Piano Book, and A Dozen a Day Piano Book for kids. I teach classical, jazz, blues, and other styles of music. Both kids and adults are welcome. Take that next step in becoming a better pianist, and let's have some fun!

Thank you

About Lonze
Hello, my name Is Lonze. I can't wait to meet you and start fun, professional, and rewarding private lessons. I have been teaching for 7 years and I absolutely love it. Every lesson is as rewarding for me as I hope it is for my students. Observing the progression of my students is one of the most fulfilling parts of teaching for me.

I began playing the Saxophone in elementary school, going on to play at Cass Technical High School. From there I went on to Knoxville College Of Music, studying classical and jazz improvisation. I have played with the All State Symphonic Band at the Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan, and First Chair Alto Saxophonist with Ben Pruitt and Friends at Bakers Keyboard Lounge. I've played with several bands throughout the years performing classical, many forms of jazz, and blues music. I currently perform in vario
us venues around the Metro Phoenix area.

I am a very easy going and enthusiastic person that will bring those qualities to every lesson with my students. I have extensive experience working with kids, specifically in the music department of the Rosedale Community Center, in Detroit.

Regardless of skill level, I will teach the basics and progress at the rate the student learns the material. I look forward to helping all my students reach their goals, whether it's in their school band, just for their friends and family, or even for those who want to pursue becoming a professional musician.

I look forward to hearing for you!!

I have been learning how to play the tenor saxophone with Lonze for seven months. I had never picked up the sax before, so I was truly starting from zero. I have enjoyed working with Lonze because he emphasizes the importance of on fundementals like practicing long tones, scales, tounguing and rythm. I have also been learning from him how to read music. When I am faced with a note I cannot seem to hit, he is able to provide specific guidence and advice on how to work one's embochure and throat in order that, through practice, I can work towards improving. The same aplies to finger positioning, as he has provided me with specific advice on how to position my fingers for best fluidity between notes. He has been very encouraging during this process, which keeps me motivated to continue. I look forward to continued learning under his tutelage.

I'm re-learning the piano with David and he has changed my relationship to music for the better. After only a few lessons with David I've gotten a greater understanding of music theory than I had in my few years of early piano training. He is patient and flexible with his style of teaching. If it's taking me awhile to understand a concept he's good at explaining it more clearly. I definitely recommend him for learning the piano!

David is a highly skilled multi-instrumentalist and producer. I was introduced when he recorded an EP for my band and since then, we've spent many an evening talking about performing, recording, teaching and making music. He is kind, patient and extremely knowledgable about his craft. I always learn something new, interesting and immediately applicable to my playing when I work with him. I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of his students and they have always been exceptionally professional and prepared. I highly recommend David for lessons in whatever discipline you request - the crossover knowledge from all of his experiences will be invaluable to you.
