My name is Jennifer. I got my degree in vocal performance and minored in Jazz. I began voice lessons myself when I was eight. I am a mezzo soprano, and can teach both female and male voices. I have performed in several opera productions including but not limited to The Marriage of Figaro, Dido and Aeneus, Tenderland, and Hand of Bridge. I have worked and performed in masterworks by Brahms, Chopin, Mozart to name a few. I studied in French, English, Spanish, Italian, and German. I studied diction, ear training, piano, music history, pedagogy, and music theory. I have also performed with artists such as New York Voices, Bobby Mcferrin and Kurt Elling. I was blessed with many learning opportunities to grow in my passion and I would love to pass that knowledge and passion to anyone who wants to learn.
*** Lesson Details *** Lessons are de
signed around the needs of each student. The first lessons is always spent testing range, knowledge and abilities already known by the student. Then the student weighs in on what kind of music they would like to learn and what they hope to gain from the lessons. Theory and ear training are incorporated into the lessons. We work on breathing, technique and style. Generally we start with English or Italian. We work on vocal performance from a classical standpoint but Jazz and Broadway can also be taught if desired by the student. Scales and exercises are given each week to be worked on until the next lesson. A recording device is encouraged if the student cannot play the piano. Also, a voice note book to take notes during the lesson to be used during practice during the week.

I am currently pursuing my doctoral degree at the Eastman School of Music in vocal performance and literature. I believe in empowering my students so that they can sing in all styles of music that interest them with ease and freedom. Good singing is good singing and I am comfortable teaching classical, musical theater, pop, jazz, country etc. I like to set up my students with a strong foundation for singing so that they can practice efficiently and overcome vocal obstacles without my instruction.
Hello everyone, I am Michael - I am currently in school at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY pursuing my doctoral degree in vocal performance and literature. I have sung all over the world in operas, musicals and with professional choirs. I enjoy teaching all levels of singing and love to inspire my students to reach their full potential. Singing should be fun and it can become even more exciting when the fundamentals start to fall into place. I am a casual but professional teacher and like to tailor my teaching to each one of my students. I like to make singing a very concrete and sensation based learning experience so students can rely on more than just their ears to guide themselves. Good singing is good singing, period - any genre ,any style... it all stems from the basics and setting up a strong foundation on which t
o build the voice.
American baritone Michael most recently performed the role of Lieutenant Audebert in Silent Night by Kevin Puts with Buffalo Opera in New York. Other recent credits include: Sam in Trouble in Tahiti by Leonard Bernstein at the Aspen Opera Center, Marcello in La Boheme by Puccini in San Diego, CA and Tom in Gershiwin’s, Blue Monday with Opera de Tijuana in Mexico. Michael will return to the Aspen Opera Center this summer to sing Frederick Egerman in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. Most recently on the concert stage he was the baritone soloist for the Monteverdi Vespro della Beata Vergine at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop and Haydn’s Seasons with the Eastman Philharmonia in Rochester, NY. In 2016 Michael received the second-place award in the Palm Springs Opera Guild Rossini Competition adjudicated by the famous Rossini tenor, Rockwell Blake. Michael is currently pursuing a doctorate in music performance and literature at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where in 2019 will sing the title role in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
Great teacher - funny, patient and understanding. I look forward to more lessons with Michael in the future!

I started lessons with Michael having done both contemporary voice and years of choir. But prior to training with Michael, I'd never really been coached as to how to properly sing in a classical style. He's allowed me to find an entire element of my voice I didn't know I had and made it incredibly straightforward to progress. I now absolutely love singing in a way I didn't previously think I would.

Michael is knowledgeable, funny, and thoughtful. I am a wind instrumentalist, and Michael tailored voice lessons to discuss topics specifically related to my areas of experience. I would highly recommend Michael for voice lessons!

With my two Bachelor's degrees in Music Composition and Technology, I began tutoring students in piano, voice, and composition as it was part of my training. I also have experience writing and editing essays, books, and more for several independent clients. I have experience writing my own books as well. I have written two so far, but am getting ready to write a third. I am a copious editor and can catch grammatical and other errors with ease. This is why tutoring in English would be great for me. I thought I would add basic math for those school-aged children that are having a little trouble with it in their classes. Usually, I teach lessons in my home in Diamond Bar or online, but if the need arises, I could surely work out coming to the students' homes for one-on-one tutoring help. With me, most students click after a few lessons and
understand what they couldn't in the classroom. I help the students by teaching in innovative ways that will catch their attention more than standard teaching methods. Students should consider me for I can make learning fun and never a chore!

Techniques include straight vowel singing (no words) to test how long to hold notes, using color to help people sight read, using improvisational techniques in order to play jazz, rock, classical and many other styles of music. I use what they student has under his or her belt as a starting point to see what lessons we could start them on. I also assist with online lessons to make transportation a thing of the past. If you've got a webcam or Skype, I can do long-distance lessons with you! So, I am here to help!

Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I will teach students ear training, and proper breathing and vocal technique as well as to read music and understand music theory if the interest exists. I tailor my approach to the needs of each students individual needs and goals. I can help any student to sing with more freedom,
confidence, and expression!
Some of the musical styles I regularly teach: Rock, Alternative, Pop, Musical Theatre, Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soul, R&B, Classical.

Hello dear students! My name is Artem and I have been playing violin since I was 4 years old and am a freelance musician, composer and pedagogue. I am passionate about teaching because I believe education and willingness to learn is an extremely important factor for personal development and success. I was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Russia and underwent intensive training in voice, violin, composition and piano. After winning the Frieburg Intenational Violin Competition in 2010, I was offered a full scholarship to study music at Dalhousie University at the age of sixteen. After moving to Canada I went through a 9-month intensive english learning program, so I know first hand how difficult it can be to learn a new language. This experience helped me understand the struggles that any ESL student goes through and discover new way
s to teach Russian and English to others. I am excited to get to know you and share my knowledge with you!
Not only is Artem a world class violinist but also a very nice person who will make you look forward to the next lesson.

Artem is an excellent teacher. He provides the perfect balance of explanations, demonstrations and expectations for at-home practice. Thank you so much!
I believe that singing is about so much. It is a way to express yourself, it is a way to gain confidence, and it is a wonderful discipline. I want to help you find YOUR voice. It would be so much fun to get to work with you on anything you might need: sightreading, Choral solos and music, your favorite pop of country song! Anything that interest you!
I am an opera singer and voice teacher. I received my bachelors in vocal performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where I taught secondary lessons through the conservatory. I have performed all over the United States and in England. I am currently studying at The Eastman School of Music as a master's student. After graduation from Oberlin, I began my private studio in Texas. My weekly lessons numbered around 60. Over the last 4 years, I have taught students with a variety of interests and goals. It is important to me to find the one thing that excites my students, be that a certain song or style, or maybe how to be more comfortable singing in their church choir. In lessons, not only do we work on vocal technique, we focus on what makes their voice unique, special, and all their own. Students will always have a new building block t
o practice each week. My intention is to inspire my students to have a discerning ear and to appreciate all that goes into making a voice work. My students have been accepted to major college voice programs, as well as participated in competitions and summer programs around the United States.
"It was an excellent lesson. She is very professional and well prepared. She was able to accompany on piano and spoke Italian fluently, which was super hel
pful for the music. Can't wait for the next one!"
"I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Amber and working with her today. I was immediately put at ease - Amber made me feel welcome, accepted and was incredibly he
lpful to me today, as I am auditioning on Sunday to sing as a soloist at my church! I have great exercises to strengthen my diaphragm, and she gave really good instruction regarding how to get the correct sound for each voice range. I am looking forward to meeting with her again, and continuing my studies under Amber."
"After three lessons, we have found Kristen to be very encouraging and supporting. She speaks to our 13-year-old daughter’s personal needs for improvement.
"Excellent instructor, very professional. Highly recommended."
"Joanne was so professional, and yet she made me feel at ease right away. It was a nice balance. What a great teacher!"
"I first asked Sven in 2011 to help me find and fix problems with my singing. My technique, performance practice, enjoyment of singing keep improving. I ch
oose more and more difficult repertoire as time goes by, trying to get us both into trouble. So far, so good!"
"I had never taken voice lessons or sung in my life. I just wanted to try singing. Vandi is so easy to work with. I had so much fun taking voice lessons
with her that I joined my school choir the next semester."
"I always thought my voice was a lost cause, but Michael was able to bring out the best in my voice. He has taught me many ways to sing with clarity and pr
oper form, and every lesson was a great experience."
"We had a very good first lesson. I had an online class so the only drawback is that there is a little limitation when trying to focus on head and neck pla
cement specific to voice coaching with the distance learning. However Margo was Great! I'm looking forward to our next session."
