About Eric
I'm lead vocalist, lead guitarist & songwriter for a well-known touring rock band with a worldwide fan base and over 3 million youtube views. I graduated from New York University with Bachelor's of Music in Jazz guitar & trained with some of the most well-known and respected vocal coaches in the world. I'm currently teaching around 50 lessons a week to students ranging in ability from beginner to professional. My versatility, experience and formal training helps me to make the learning experience easy, stress free and fun.

I play in 3 active bands (gigging regularly) & produce/cowrite with a number of artists for their own projects. I spent much of the past 15 years touring, writing and recording with my bands and with internationally known artists/celebrities. My songs have been licensed for national/international TV (E!, MTV, VH1, Ox
ygen, TBS and more), commercials for Coca-Cola, Samsung and in video games.

In 2015, I signed a major label publishing deal with Fieldhouse Music/BMG played throughout Europe (and taught online lessons while away). Since 2016, I have released 3 singles and 2 EPs, for my own projects. I am currently endorsed by PRS guitars, Elixir Strings, & Godin Guitars/Bass Guitars.

I teach my clients in my creative and comfortable home teaching studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I work with Vocalists/Singers, guitarists/bassists, pianists & songwriters/producers/composers in a wide age range, assorted skill levels with a variety of musical goals.

Some of the musical styles I regularly teach: Rock, Indie Rock, Alternative Rock, Metal, Hard Rock, Punk, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Blues, Funk, Soul, Classical, Folk.

I'm highly experienced as an online (Skype, Facetime and G+) instructor, teaching online lessons worldwide for the past 4 years to students who reside locally, nationally and even internationally.

I love to teach guitar because I feel it is an outlet for kids that may not always be interested in piano or voice. It's a beautiful instrument that you can play your entire life.

About Ruthie
My name is Ruthie and I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2007 with a Bachelors of Music Education degree with an emphasis in voice. Through my collegiate experiences, I had the privilege of participating in a Concert Choir, Barbershop/A Capella Ensembles, Vocal Jazz Ensembles and Performance in Solo Voice. The jazz program at UNC is one of the finest in the United States, and to be selected as a member of one of the vocal jazz ensembles was an honor in itself. From these experiences I have gained knowledge about the importance of vocal performance and music advocacy. I accepted a position as a general music teacher in Colorado in the fall of 2007 and then worked part time for a school in Laguna Niguel, CA until June of 2012. I recently moved from California to Minnesota and am trying to get my music student cli
entele established. I love to sing all different styles and I'd love to help you find your style and help discover your passions.

My passion for music started for me as a young child. I grew up in a musically inclined family, and was inspired and motivated by family members to use my gifts and talents to educate students about the world of music. My immense love for children, coupled with my educational experiences and my passion for music qualify me as a fun and exciting teacher.

I am huge lover of Barbershop/Sweet Adeline music and I recently competed in the International Young Women in Harmony Quartet Contest in Nashville, TN. My quartet, Vogue, won the competition. The Young Women in Harmony contest is for girls 25 years old and younger. I recently sang with a quartet called, Dolce. We competed in two International Competitions in Denver and Hawaii and placed 10th and 15th in the world. I was also a member of the International Gold Medalist Chorus, Harborlites, which is comprised of 180 female singers.

"Music isn't just learning notes and playing them, You learn notes to play to the music of your soul." - Katie Greenwood

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons will be educational and fun. I want to find your passions and interests and from there I will create lesson plans to enhance your learning experience in your specified concentration. Voice lessons will start with vocal warm ups and exercises and then we will proceed to work on vocal techniques and preferred repertoire. During the lessons we will create goals and work on those goals so you become a successful musician.

I am a very patient and caring teacher and I am able to create the lessons to your style and needs. Music is fun and I want to make it that way for you!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a full keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
I studied music education in college with a vocal emphasis. I am classically trained but studied jazz as well. I also am a member of an internationally ranked barbershop chorus and quartet. I specialize in singing bass and lead in barbershop.

Guitar students start with five subjects.

1) Technique is concerned with the development of the physical mechanics involved in playing the instrument.

2) Scales are a part of basic music vocabulary and building blocks of the musical language.

3) Chords are also basic vocabulary of the musical language.

4) Note reading is not required for every student. It really depends on the students' goals. However, I strongly encourage everyone learn to read musical notation, (more than tablature). Literacy in reading music is analogous to literacy in reading in our English language. Can you imagine how much smaller our world would be if we couldn't read?

5) Songs utilize the skills and concepts of all the previously mentioned subjects and are the goal of studying music. The student chooses what songs they want to play, guided by my suggestions; Jazz, rock, blues, country, bluegrass, R &B - "How deep is the ocean, how high is the sky?"

A beginning student will practice all

About Phillip
I teach music. The guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele just happen to be the particular instruments I choose. Music as a language, discipline, and art, is the goal. I've been teaching, performing, studying, composing, for some thirty years. I've studied and gigged in the classical, jazz, rock, blues, R & B, and country idioms. I've taught composition and improvisation to instruments other than guitar, (vocalists, fiddle, sax, piano, trumpet) I've taught all ages and levels. I currently pursue a doctorate of music in guitar at university. Students learn many things when studying with me. They learn physically how to play a particular instrument while learning music as its own language. Students learn how to learn, learn self-discipline, and access their musical expression, all potential life changing experiences. I am happy and
excited to announce I am available for on-line lessons, and will now be able to work with students from all over the world, regardless of distance or location!

*** Lesson Details ***
I am laid back, but at the same time very goal directed. I like to do technique and/or vocabulary, note reading, and songs every lesson. After six months students are able to to 'jam', (improvise over chord changes such as the blues). They are well on their way to becoming literate, probably a third way through the first book. They probably can play a half dozen songs well, and are starting to strum (comp) chord progressions in a musically rhythmic way. They may even have played in a couple concerts by then.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Office studio w/ guitar, bass, amps, and seating for parents, computer with skype capability.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I bring my guitar and writing tools, extra picks, extra paper etc. Students provide their own instrument, method book, staff paper, notebook paper. Hopefully they have a music stand and their own guitar picks and other items relevant for the study of their instrument.

*** Specialties ***
Classical, jazz, rock, blues, country, bluegrass, theory/composition, improvisation

Everyone loves the guitar. For beginners I recommend starting on an acoustic. For more advanced or serious players it's fine to go with an electric. I recommend to all my students to develop a sense of their own playing style. No matter what level your playing is at, it'll help you stand out. You don't necessarily have to be a country guitarist or a metal guitarist. You can be influenced by any genre. It will help you be a more diverse player. I teach all styles of guitar including rock, pop, metal, country, blues, etc.

About Jason
I provide private music lessons for guitar, bass, saxophone, music theory and songwriting. I have been teaching for over seven years. I combine my passion for teaching and music business expertise to help students achieve their goals. There are many lesson options available including at my studio in Bristol CT, online or at your location. I work with all of my students and parents to create customized teaching plans based on students learning styles, interests and goals. I am available to students outside of lesson time 7 days a week. I provide performance, writing, purchase and music recommendations and take an active interest in each of my students learning. Lesson times are exactly as stated. I allow extra time in between students so as to ensure no overlaps and everyone gets their allotted time.

I try to develop versatility and wel
l rounded musicians no matter the skill or age level. Each student attends lessons for different reasons.Students are encouraged to explore all genres of music and I believe in exposing them to a wide variety of styles and methods. I also encourage students, if interested to write original material. There are no restrictions when it comes to music and I incorporate both old school and contemporary methods into my teaching. Students will learn first hand how what they are learning applies to the real world, including song performance from their favorite artists. I strongly encourage all students to develop an individual personal sense of style when it comes to music performance.

Steve is a natural teacher. He is very methodical and demanding but also knows how to intrigue a newbie. He was able to engage my 9 year old daughter and at the same time he kept her challenged. She has learned so much in just 5 lessons. Most importantly, she now has the confidence and desire to attempt to develop her newly acquired skills on her own.

I adapt to the personality and learning style of each individual student. Every student learns differently. I do not teach out of music books. My approach seeks to combine music theory with intuitive musical ear training so that a student can be self-sufficient, eventually being able to combine knowledge with technical skill to play music by ear in real-world situations. The aim is to free the creative mind to enable natural, spontaneous expression.

About Dan
I am not one of the lucky few who was born with inherent musical talent. I've had to work hard for my knowledge and ability and I believe that this gives me an edge over teachers who are naturally musical. I once struggled to learn even the basics of music. This enables me to personally identify & understand the struggles that a developing student faces. Many teachers born with musical talent fail to be good guides through the musical wilderness because sometimes they simply cannot relate to a student's struggle. I've been teaching for six years. For four of those years I taught guitar at Aleoop, a musical enrichment program at the Brookside & Hillside elementary schools in Allendale. I work best with younger students. I've found that because of my age young students find me more relatable than my older counterparts. My aim as a teacher i
s to empower my students with the gifts of self-expression and confidence. My focus is on artistic enrichment, enjoyment and technical proficiency.

I love teaching guitar! I am very patient and understanding of the beginner guitar student. Everyone learns at their own pace. I have been playing and teaching electric and acoustic guitar for over 25 years. My method gives a beginner guitar player a great foundation to build from. It is important to keep the learning experience fun and exciting. The first several lessons are laid out to master basics and peppered with tips and tricks to speed up technical ability. The student will be equipped to tackle many different styles of music. Plus we start working on those songs you want to play as soon as possible! Rock, Blues, Country, Folk, Christian Rock, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock..you name it, we can work on it.

About John
I have been playing and teaching acoustic and electric guitar for over 25 years and enjoy teaching all levels of experience from Beginner rhythm guitar to Lead Guitar and Theory. I also enjoy playing and teaching all genres of music! I played professionally for 20 years in several working Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative, Country, and Blues based bands.

I started many years ago teaching with my kids. I then started teaching friends who asked me to teach them. I had several friends tell me I should be a "real" guitar teacher because of my patience and passion. I then realized how rewarding it was to share my knowledge with others and see them grow as players and music lovers. The guitar has brought me so much joy over the years, I like to share that with others.

I have many reviews from past customers. References upon request.
