I teach piano in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play a certain style like Funk, or Blues, or how to approach a classical sonata. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

Together we will find pieces that fit your brand and work through all steps of an audition from the slate to the way you should walk out of the room.
The only way you can fail is if you fail to prepare. Actors only have so much control about booking a role so thorough audition prep sets you apart.
I also focus on college audition prep with students who are graduating and taking that next step for their careers. We focus on building the best package of ourselves for college auditions. We will do mock interviews and auditions as time goes on to feel more comfortable in the actual setting.
I am a professional Actress and Stage Combatant. I have been acting for about 10 years now. I studied acting and stage combat at Texas State University. While I was there I did plenty of shows including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Mr. Burns, The Tempest, and A Dolls House. My Main focus

I've been a student of music for 17 years and love playing for others and teaching my students how to enjoy music. Most of my teaching experience has come from private lessons with individual students in their homes or mine but I have also really enjoyed being the string teacher for a public middle school and private preparatory school. Some of my students have been as young as 4 and as far advanced as their early 70s! Most of my teaching material comes from a classical standpoint but I make a point of incorporating music from different genres to maintain interest and motivation for each student. When I can spare time from teaching I enjoy playing for events and have had the wonderful experience of travelling overseas to bring music to others.

Beginning Piano students will be taught the basics in a fun but productive way. I will teach a strong foundation so a student can move forward with confidence. Lessons would be individualized to focus on areas that need the most guidance.
Students will learn the basics about rhythm, harmony, and melody and how they apply to piano. They will become fluent in the 12 basic keys to a degree where you can play simple songs in any of them.
I have been teaching since 2006 on a variety of topics. I graduated with an BA from the University of Wisconsin. My degree is in History with and emphasis on East Asian history. I've taught all age groups from age 2 up to retirees. My teaching experience includes one-on-one and group classes
