When you have a love of teaching, you have a seemingly endless resource of patience. This is because what the student sees as "patient" is really just a small step in the educational process. It is a fraction of time just before a correction. When you have something new to teach, whether it is a new technique, or a correction of something being done improperly, and you know exactly how to break it down so it is understandable and accomplishable, you know it is always a short matter of time before the student gets it. And by short, I mean a matter
I respect others and what they feel and have to say. I treat others as I would want to be treated and lessons are always a pleasure to my students, because it is a pleasure for me to teach them.
I have been playing for over 26 years. I have played with a multitude of local orchestras and bands and have done countless studio recording sessions and live shows. All of this experience comes through in my teaching either directly (when it comes time for you to perform) or incrementally.
When you are learning, there is a vast sea of information. Not all of that knowledge is equal in importance. It is incredibly important to be able to distinguish what is important and what is not very important. All of my real-life experience, and continuing experience reveals itself in the form of ensuring my students know what is truly important.
Lest you get the idea that I am a wishy-washy, undemanding teacher, I can assure you this is not the case. Lessons are fun, but that is because they are productive. You will walk away being able to do something, and that requires hard work, and practice.

HOW FAST CAN I EXPECT RESULTS?
Some students who were musicians previously leave the first lesson being able to play their first song. Most students however, who have never played an instrument before, can expect to be comfortable bowing (a huge part of the process - half the sound!) within the first few weeks, and will then move on to learning songs. We will be learning sheet music as well, on a very, very easy gradient. After the first couple months, I expect you to tell me which song it is you might like to learn most so that we can start working on it.
I rent out violins of all sizes.

Both voice and piano lessons are based on a foundation of healthy technique while incorporating musicianship skills and encouraging the student to develop their own creativity. While my focus as a performer is opera and other classical music, I am experienced in teaching Broadway/musical theater, pop, rock, R&B, folk, and other styles and genres. I encourage my students to explore new styles and apply good technique to any style they may choose to sing or play.

As a member of both NATS (National Association for Teachers of Singing) and ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) I am constantly working to improve my teaching skills by keeping up with the latest pedagogical research. I love sharing new tips and techniques with my students!
I strive to create a lesson environment that is open and honest, where my students are never afraid to ask questions or try something new. I am always happy to explain concepts in a different way and I encourage improvisation and creativity in addition to healthy technique and strong musicianship.

Kate holds a dual degree in Jazz Performance and Music Education from the Eastman School of Music. Kate has also studied independently with a host of great drummers, improvisers, and composers, including Dan Weiss, Tim Berne, Tony Malaby, Marc Ducret, Miles Okazaki, and John Riley.
Kate has enjoyed teaching drum lessons independently for 10 years and has taught at the NYSMF summer jazz program and several schools.

In 2013 EMI Classics released my first solo album „Tadeusz - piano”, which includes works by Scarlatti, Schumann, Liszt, Prokofiev and virtuoso transcriptions by Vladimir Horowitz. The album received excellent reviews from critics: „Whoever likes great piano music and virtuosity will not be disappointed after listening to Tadeusz. A splendid debut!” (Stanislaw Dybowski), „His future career of a virtuoso is certain, the instrument sounds beautiful in his hands, in a rounded tone, the lightness and proficiency of difficult parts inspires jealousy, not only recognition.” (Kacper Miklaszewski).
My discography includes solo album „Tadeusz - piano” recorded for EMI classisc, „Harmony of he Struggle” which includes a world premiere recording of Piano Concerto by Marcin Błażewicz, who dedicated the work to Tadeusz and his recent album „Eugeniusz Morawski Songs” with complete songs by Eugeniusz Morawski, recorded with mezzosoprano Agnieszka Rehlis. The album received a nomination for Fryderyk 2015 - award of the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry.
As teacher, Stephanie has taught all ages in music. She was a music teacher at a private elementary school in Miami and a professor at Barry University in Miami Shores. Stephanie also specializes in helping in competition training, helping many students place in the top music schools.
As a performer, Stephanie performs in opera and concert performances across the United States. This season, Stephanie debuted with the Klezmer Orchestra singing Hodel in their production of Fiddler on the Roof, was a soloist at Barry University in Rossini’s Stabat Mater, and will be performing
Featured roles in past seasons have included the Miami Summer Music festival, where she participated in the Wagner Institute concert, and as Elizabeth Proctor in the new opera production of The Crucible. The Palm Beach Arts Paper noted that she “sang impressively, handling the music with confidence and flair.” She also sang the title role in Pinocchio at Cedar Rapids Opera, as well as Flora in La Traviata, Carmen in Carmen, Giulietta in Les contes d’Hoffmann, Meg in Mark Adamo’s Little Women, Mrs. Herring in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring and the Nurse in Michael Torke’s Strawberry Fields.
Stephanie placed 3rd nationally in the New York Lyric Opera Competition, where she made her Carnegie Hall debut. She was the winner of the Miami-Dade artist access grant award, and the Concerto Competition at New World School of the Arts. Stephanie has also placed in the semi-finals of the Florida Grand Opera/Young Patroness of the Arts competition, and the Palm Beach Opera Competition. She has participated in distinguished opera programs such as the Miami Music Festival, International Vocal Arts Institute, Opera Academy of California, and the Manhattan School of Music Summer Festival.

I have been a faculty member at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City for over 15 years. I've been fortunate to teach Private voice lessons there as well as Ear Training, Vocal Performance, Vocal Musicianship, and Senior Seminar.
As a touring jazz vocalist I have performed all over the world, from Japan to Egypt, Germany, Mexico, USA and Canada. Most of my touring happens in Europe. While there I teach online lessons only.
I enjoy going deep into vocal technique with my students, exploring what it is that holds them back from reaching that next level, releasing fear and physical tension, balancing and strengthening the voice. Vocal improvisation is another subject I love, be it free improv or specific jazz scat singing over chord changes. Helping vocalists of all levels become better singers and deepen their musicianship skills is a big and wonderful part of what I get to do.
