I have been playing violin since the age of 6. One day I had to make the difficult decision choosing between violin and piano, because both instruments are very dear to me. I chose violin as my primary instrument for its lyrical qualities and closeness to human voice. At the age of 13 I won the Saint Petersburg Violin Competition and performed with the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic.
I am excited to share my love for this instrument with my students no matter what age they are. I see each person as an individual who has their own artistic voice and I will help you to further develop it.
I have won Gartoff International Violin Competition, Freiburg International Violin Competition, Dalhousie Solo Competition, Halifax Rose Bowl, Roosevelt Violin Competition and most recently competed in Schoenfeld International String Competition in Harbin, China, where my quartet placed 3rd. Recently I performed the Brahms Violin Concerto in the Symphony Centre downtown Chicago with Roosevelt ...

Ms. Chris is awesome. My son started taking lessons to see if he really liked the violin about 3 1/2 years ago and fell in love with the violin. I do believe he likes it simply because he has an AWESOME teacher. She pushes him when he needs to be pushed and encourages him to audition for performances. He has done a wonderful job and we highly recommend Ms. Chris Heins!"

I have never played a violin before, and she is walking me through the process with patience, clear instructions, different interesting and fun ways of explaining concepts, which make lessons flow easily. By the time the lesson ends, I can hardly notice that an hour has passed by.
It is a joy to have her as a teacher. I have had a few questions off schedule, and she has never failed to answer them promptly.
I look forward to every lesson I have with her to keep learning to play this beautiful and amazing instrument."

attempts to follow his instruction,..my only regret is i didn't find him sooner.I highly recommend him,...you will not be dissapointed"

When you’re first starting to look for a violin brand, it's important to find a compromise between affordability and good quality. It’s not always smart to buy the cheapest model available, as not only is this likely to produce a poor sound and hamper any incentive to practice or progress, but it's likely to lose a lot of value on the resale market - it's worth bearing in mind that student models will be resold at some later date, whether you're moving onto something better, or to another in …
