I've been teaching and performing professionally for over 15 years. I have my BA in music and business. I have had some amazing experiences along the way. *** Lesson Details ***
I'm a laid back teacher but you will definitely learn
a lot. I just believe if it starts to not be fun, what's the point? Music isn't just about perfect theory and note placement it's about enjoyment. That's why I tailor make every lesson specifically based on my student's goals. I have students that like a more traditional approach so I use standard method books with them. I also have students that want to learn how to play by ear so we use a less traditional method and I teach them chord structures and how to move around easily on their instrument. My favorite thing to teach is vocal lessons but I love teaching piano and guitar also.

The In-Studio lessons are taught on an upright piano or acoustic/electric guitar. Student should bring own guitar. No pets. Waiting room out front for parents.

The art of Music Performance is a complex array of intertwining elements. Each of these is present at all times, but must simultaneously disappear into the fabric of a performance. In these lessons we will work on vocal technique and the crafting of the voice. From there we will begin to develop stage performance technique and interpretation of vocal text through the voice and body so that you can begin to express yourself freely and without vocal entanglements.

I am a native of Evansville, IN and a recent graduate of LSU where I performed the roles of il Conte from Le Nozze di Figaro, Nick Shadow from The Rakes Progress, Taddeo from l’italiana in Algeri, Sweeney Todd from Sweeney Todd, and Manfred in Jake Heggie’s Farewell Auschwitz from his triptych Out of Darkness.

Outside the university’s walls, I performed several roles and concerts with Opéra Louisiane including Samuel from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance and Peter from Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel. Most recently, I was an apprentice with Sarasota Opera for their Fall season and a Des Moines Metro Opera Apprentice Artist for the past two summers.

I'll be honest with you when my dad told me he signed me up for singing lessons I was shocked, annoyed, and flabbergasted. I'm one of those kids who can be picky sometimes. I play travel soccer baseball and basketball. The first practice I was nervous and afraid of what the instructor could be but when we showed up and we met him I knew he would be a great instructor. He was funny, smart, he cared about making me better and not just leaving me on my own he was amazing. I figured before I started lessons that I could stop after a couple of weeks. But after meeting Alex And his passion to make me better i find my self happy and excited for practice every time. With my schedule its so unpredictable but Alex handles it like a pro. I will text him and ask him if this time works even if we plan on a different time. U know what he says everytime??? I'll be there. He is great communication wise. If I have something I will text him, he will text right back and have a solution to the problem every time. He is a great instructor who cares and is nice cool funny and fantastic all around.

After childhood lessons, and BA and MA degrees from Minnesota and Iowa, I worked for private conservatories in Los Angeles, while teaching and playing for church events and celebrations. In that real-world school, I learned the music that the world loves.

I use that knowledge to fire my students' imaginations. If Bach or Mozart motivates them, we set goals to learn the Toccata in D minor or the Turkish Rondo. These are realistic goals!
Maybe you would like to study Easter hymns for church, as one student did recently. Perhaps you would like to perform Beethoven's Tempest in front of sixty people at a nice recital hall.

All my students can expect an experience focused on their musical goals, with lesson plans geared to twenty minut
es of daily practice. Set the bar as high as you want! My students all choose to have a lesson every week except for scheduled breaks, under the recurring lesson plan. This helps them to make quick progress.
My studio has a big grand, and a digital piano. The neighborhood is quiet.
Come with confidence, to a studio licensed in Albuquerque for twenty years. I have passed TakeLessons and Albuquerque Public Schools background checks.
After three months, a busy eight-year old beginner could have an easy rendition of "Ode To Joy" or "When The Saints Come Marching In" to perform for loved ones.
My students study technique, rhythm, fingering, expression and general musicianship. All this, while enjoying great musical selections.

The studio lessons are taught in a living room studio exclusively used for piano lessons including a Steinway piano. No pets. Parking in the right side of the driveway.

Mostly classical, with occasional jazz, contemporary Christian, and popular. I mostly teach from notes, though occasionally from lead sheets or through improvisation. The Adventures, Keys for the Kingdom, and Step By Step methods are preferred until the student can play composers' original notes. Then, their recital works tend to come from such as Bach, Beethoven, Clementi, Debussy, and Chopin.

I welcome online students with a desire to learn and an ability to focus. Young students should have a parent or guardian near to direct their attention, if needed.

An excellent, intuitive teacher

Mr. Steve is an outstanding teacher whom I would recommend without reservation. He works at the pace of each of my children and they are eager to work for him too. My son bores quickly, but Steve challenges him with encouragement and speed. My daughter is slower to catch on and he accommodates her speed with equal talent. He is creative in his teaching methods and also in his approach to advising more practice or encouraging practice methods. I hesitate to write this review because I don't want to share the gem we have found in Steve. He is kind, patient, encouraging, excited about the music and the kid's efforts, witty, professional and accommodating. 5 stars.

Antonella is an AMAZING teacher. I am an older adult student, with no music theory or background. She is very patient, accommodating, and uses very useful analogies that help me visualize what to do in a way that helps me learn and remember. My own weakness is in making time to diligently practice. I look forward to each lesson, and give her my highest recommendation.

Online Performance Class is a way to get performance experience every week by playing for many other students who are learning to be musicians. The range is from absolute beginner through early professional so it is also a chance to get inspired or to find a group to support and follow your career. Alexandra has been teaching harp and piano around the country for eighteen years through her personal harp studio and the Salvi Showroom in Southern California. She has also worked as a sectional coach for the Orange County Youth Symphony, Asia America Youth Symphony, and Palos Verdes Regional Symphony Orchestra. Her students are currently attending Eastman School of Music, Columbia University, Barnard College, Harvard University, Boston College, University of Pennslyvania, Princeton University, Northwestern University, University of Notre Dame, Yale University and Purdue University among others. She has also had many mentors who have guided her life and career including: Kathleen Bride, Victor Salvi, Sally Maxwell, Patricia Masri- Fletcher, Robin Gordon- Cartier, Carrie Kourkoumelis, Dr. Craig Pare, and Karen Thielen.

Alexandra has performed in many master classes given by such internationally known harpists as Skaila Kanga, Jana Bouskova, Marie Pierre Langlamet, and Bryn Lewis. *** Lesson Details ***

As a HARP teacher, all of my
students play scales, arpeggios, and technical exercises in
their lessons. I believe having a strong technical base is the foundation for
every part of playing and you can't learn without it. I will set the repertoire
for students according to their technical progress and although I may
take into consideration a student's desires to learn a certain piece, there has
to be time and they have to be ready for it. I have both short term and long
term goals for each student that involve theory, technical ability, and
repertoire: fun, orchestral and solo. Adult students still have to learn
technique, it makes things much more fun and easy six months later, I promise! Beginning students will learn how to read notes, understand basic theory, and technique in a short amount of time, so don't be scared if you have never had a music lesson before. 

I require all students make
at least half an hour a day commitment to practice. I teach mostly the Grandjany method of harp technique, however, I also use Salzedo and Renie methods
at times to fit a particular students' build and unique physical attributes as well as what the piece requires. I
have studied all techniques throughout my education and I find them all
beneficial for different reasons. I do, however, believe everyone is built
differently and the technique should help the harpist play and not hinder them
from achieving their goals. Everyone learns at a different speed, but as a
brand new musician, after six months practicing regularly, you should be able
to read music fluently, understand basic theory concepts, be able to play with
both hands and four fingers on each hand, play all of the basic scales and
arpeggios musically and be able to play at least one piece memorized.
Curriculum is based on the student's technical ability and issues and is
individually created – if you learn slower than someone else, don’t worry about
your pace. In the end, lessons are about you personally and not someone else.

As a PIANO teacher, I want students to learn about music and not just the piano. Students will learn basic music theory and basic scales as a part of their lessons. They will also occasionally choose a song of their choosing to work on chords. I do promote note reading and theory, so I am not the right teacher for students who don't want to invest time in learning the basics. These basics are the building blocks of all music and can be used for any instrument the student chooses to learn in the future.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have harps and a piano at my studio, so you do not need to bring your harp to lessons. If you don't own a harp, you can rent one for around $45/month from several sources. 

*** Specialties ***
HARP - Grandjany Technique with an incorporation of Salzedo and French school depending on the player's body type and technical difficulties. I make use of the ABRSM as well as local, national, and international competitions depending on the student's level of commitment.

PIANO - I teach basic piano for fun through an Intermediate level. Although some students choose to take CM and ABRSM exams, I do not push them. I want students to enjoy piano and music lessons.

These details change depending on, whether you would like musical training or academic tutoring.
Musical:

Music is fun and the lessons should be as well. When it comes to practice I recommend that students do spend time (1/2-1hour daily) outside of the lessons practicing to ensure that they see results. If you choose to practice only while in the lesson you will get better but it will be at a slower pace.

- Start with quick warm ups (these work to increase students fluidity with their instrument)
- Work technique
- Assign repertoire depending on skill level.
- Work on assigned repertoire
- Work on technical aspect of the pieces.
Your student will learn much more about their capabilities and their instrument as they will learn many aspects of Music Theory.

I teach beginning- advanced piano lessons touching on posture, hand position, rhythm training, sight-reading, expression, and pop/jazz chord charts. If you want to learn how to play songs by ear that you hear on the radio, I can train you how to do that too! Once I feel that you have surpassed my ability to help you grow, I will be happy to pass you on to a more experienced teacher and attend all of your future recitals.

I teach voice beginner-professional, which includes classical repertoire and technique as well as Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock, Standards, Country, RnB,...you name it. The best part is that you will learn to sing in a manner that will not damage your instrument and in fact will work to fortify your instrument.

Experienced playing in front of many different audiences, i.e.
big audiences with Holland America Line, from 75 to 1000 people in the audience. Dealing with other musicians and the audience is as important as the performance itself, at times.

On the road with American Entertainment Productions,
our group of eight (8) played in front of high-school, middle school and Convention size audiences.
How to play and not lose focus playing your instrument is key.
You are there to perform and share your musical talent.

At different churches, some places were over 300 - 1000, depending on the size of the building, or course.

At lessons, we can talk how to play, read music for musical performance, and what to do after the performance.

About Kerry
I attended Wright State University for two (2) years studying Music , and then transferred to Belmont University to receive a Bachelors of Music in Percussion Performance. A Masters of Music from Eastern Kentucky University will help overall General music and creative studies.

I also studied at the Eastman School of Music, learning Creative Music Making and African drum studies.

Lastly, I attended University of Dayton for Percussion, Music Technology, & World music, and different Samba schools in Salvador/Rio, Brazil for Samba studies.

I have been performing since 1984 for theatre shows, Pop/Rock, jazz, R & B, Circus’ (Great Wallendas), swing bands, American Entertainment Productions show band (One year), and performed with Holland America Cruise Line for three (3) years. Recently, I've been performing Musicals in Columbus,
OH (Tarzan), Sinclair College and Dare2Defy Productions - not necessarily all in order. Played in different jazz bands, Pop/Rock groups, and Churches (Contemporary & Traditional) in the area.

About Anthony
Tony, originally from Buffalo, NY, attended SUNY College at Fredonia where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. While at Fredonia he received a Performer’s Certificate in trombone. Tony then attended Duquesne University where he earned his Master of Music degree in trombone performance. After graduation, he spent time freelancing and teaching in the greater Pittsburgh area. Tony then attended Indiana University, continuing his graduate work focusing on trombone performance. After his time at IU and freelancing in the greater Indianapolis area, he moved to Columbus, OH and completed his Doctor of Musical Arts in Trombone degree in August 2015 at Ohio State University. While in Columbus, he has thrived as a freelancer while keeping a busy teaching schedule. His principal teachers have included Carl Mazzio, Scott
Parkinson, Peter Sullivan, Peter Ellefson and Joe Duchi.
