Let's get moving! I can teach you a number of styles or focus on one in particular that you like. My background is mainly in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theatre dancing. No one is too young or old to learn some moves!
Hi! I'm Carissa, a working actor and playwright, and would love to work with you on your craft! I grew up heavily immersed in the arts from a young age. For Middle School and High School I attended one of the top Performing Arts schools in the State of California, where I was able to take classes such as ballet, tap, jazz, acting, and playwriting daily. After that, I earned a spot in, and graduated from, the BFA Acting program at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. After taking a year to work professionally in theatre and television, I moved to Ireland to earn my MFA in Playwriting from The Lir Academy (an affiliate school of London's RADA). Teaching has been a big part of my life, from private study to running theatre camps for kids. I'm well versed in the drama school audition trail and would love to help you prepare fo
r this exciting time! I also offer playwriting lessons/critique, and beginner lessons in dance (ballet, jazz, tap). I look forward to hearing from you!
I'm really impressed!!! Carissa met all my expectations and even more. For a very short period of time, she has taught me how to improve my intonation by using positive phrases and believing in them. It really helps, I feel like I got her energy and positiveness. Thanks Carissa! Look forward to the next lesson!

I took a lesson with Tom. I really wanted to try him out because of all the great reviews he has, it definitely didn't fall short of my expectations. He was attentive, friendly, not judgelmental and a master of his craft. Thank you for all your tips.

It came to me again - that feeling that I could do anything. I know that's an exaggeration, but feelings of personal accomplishment lend a lot to taking future risks. Our dance team was under Tom's tutelage for four hours broken into two sessions and I was changed. He had persistence yet patience. He somehow gave everything enough attention, but kept us moving forward to use our time together the most wisely. He adapted to our unique and unusual dynamic and group personality, adopting our language while he taught us his.
My private lesson with him was special too. I remember feeling a bit vulnerable and self conscious in the first few minutes, wondering how we would connect on how to help me. I was put at ease as he listened to my thoughts, partnered with me in a quick exploratory dance, took the reins, and led me through an educational sixty minutes. I liked the way he made the specifics he was conveying accessible through brief relatable personal examples. I've had many people speak to me about frame, but the way he approached it and me was the way that has me doing better (I think!) I found Tom to be incredibly professional, personable, respectful and helpful.
I would certainly benefit from more time in his care.

Tom has a way of teaching that is easily understandable and make sense almost right away all the time. And this is awesome because I have no dance experience. He is just an all-around nice guy that is fun and knows what to say so that the lesson clicks for you he knows how to make you get it.
Everyone is uniquely different with special goals, ways of learning, and ideas in mind. I find pride in quickly learning what each of my students are looking for and leading the way to their own personal victories, no matter how big or small! I teach a number of styles including, but not limited to, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary/Lyrical, Hip Hop/Street Jazz/Jazz Funk, Turns, Leaps & Jumps and more. Although I possess over 10 years of teaching experience, I find myself learning something new with nearly every student I encounter. Every student is a new opportunity for me to inspire AND be inspired.
The general structure of my classes are similar. Thorough warm up, which would include exercises, drills and foundational practices from the Ballet, Modern and Jazz genres, stretching, strengthening and conditioning sequences and finally execution of concepts directly related to the style I might be teaching sum them up well. In the end, my goal is for my students to leave feeling ...

Mr. Brandyn is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! He is an amazing dancer and pushes all of his students to be the best we can be. He's hard on us yet he understands each of our differences and encourages us to embrace them. When I take class with him, I mentally prepare myself to push my limits and seek results because I know that if I dont, I would be doing myself a disservice and futhermore, HE WILL lol. Mr. B has inspired me to become a professional dancer because I've never seen someone love anything as much as he loves dance. I want to experience a love that great. His passion for the art form oozes from him and I feel lucky to have him as a teacher!!!!

Hello and welcome. My name is Gigi. I have been teaching dance, dance fitness, and meditation for 30 years. I love the personal relationship with each student as together we bring forth skill, style, self confidence, expression, well being, and peace. My primary dance training was received from the Mid Hudson Ballet Company, with teaching certification from Music in Motion, Inc. My meditation training is rooted in 7 years of monastic life and 30 years of integrating the principles and practices into my being. I am a very compassionate, friendly, intuitive person who teaches with warmth, sensitivity, patience, and attention to detail. I look forward to bringing all of the above into sessions with you to help fulfill your personal goals and interests.
My relationship with dance began at the age of 3, when my mother enrolled me in my fir
st ballet class with the hope that it would help me gain the confidence to come out from my hiding place behind her back. Not only did it encourage me to overcome my excessively painful shyness, but it grew an everlasting love and shelter for me. I went on to receive the foundation of my training at Estelle & Alfonso Performing Arts and the Russian Ballet School of the Mid-Hudson Ballet Company. During my adolescent years, I became a teacher at the school and a performing member of the company. I also received the honor of performing in Harlequinade with the New York City Ballet, studying at the Craft of Choreography Conference on scholarship, and attending a variety of ballet, jazz, and modern dance classes by notable teachers in multiple schools and venues in the northeast.
In my adult years, I've enjoyed performing on many occasions, especially as a guest artist with Dog-Eared Dancers and in choreographic partnership with Anna Mayta of Anna Mayta Dance Fusion. I'm grateful to have expanded my modern dance and teaching experience with Laurie Sepe Marder, and to have studied Kuchipudi Classical Indian Dance with Kantham Chatlapalli, as well as ancient and modern Hula with Kumu June Tanoue. Under the mentorship of Barbara Thuesen, I received my certification in ballet teaching and choreography from Music in Motion, Inc. I was then accepted into the dance department at the West Australia Academy of Performing Arts, but chose to remain close to home and open White Lotus Ballet in 2004 instead.
Since then, I have had the ongoing pleasure of teaching dance to dozens of children and adults in my space, as well as at preschools, daycare centers, yoga studios, and special events. My teaching style and content continue to evolve with the gathering of insight, compassion, and experience.
In addition to traditional dance, that evolution has also expanded to include teaching meditation and healing dance. I am a very devotional soul and a natural intuitive empathic healer. So, i find all the gifts, talents, inspiration, and wisdom I receive come together in a variety of forms and ways I teach to touch the heart and desired interest of each student. Again, I look forward to creating lessons that fulfill you in that way.
I took dance lessons from Gigi with a focus on self expression and working through issues that I was holding onto on any particular day. I am 60+ years old and never danced before. Where my typical perspective of myself standing in front of a mirror is not positive, I somehow was transformed into seeing beauty. Gigi is a beautiful person, very patient , non judging. Her goal was for me to meet my goal, even when it changed from week to week. Sometimes we worked on dance technique, other times using movement to work through feelings. I loved it.

Working with Gigi during a challenging time in my life was an amazing experience, her empathy, her nurturing quality made my experience truly lovely. She finds inspiration for movement therapeutic work by what the students needs are. After my classes with Gigi I feel spiritually rejuvenated.
I want to help you express yourself through dance. Dance is one of the worlds greatest forms of therapy and I want to expose you to the amazing qualities it has to offer.
Hello! Thank you for clicking on my profile. I truly care to help you find love and appreciation for dance. I am a determined individual who is willing to go the extra mile to make sure my students are having fun all while taking in all the amazing qualities dance has to offer.
I have gone to ballet conservatories, been with dance companies, went to a University where I studied fine arts of Dance, and have gotten many opportunities to work alongside with choreographers such as Scott and Brian Nicholson (Arianna Grande choreographers). Johanna Sopakie (Cirques Soleil), Kim Wolfe, Barry Youngblood, etc. I enjoy spreading the knowledge and joy I have of Dance. I want this to be exciting and fun, as well as, a safe learning environment. I love to teach class but also work closely in rehabbing if a dancer is trying to get back into dancing and exercises to help strengthen muscle groups for the body to be able to do whatever it is that is your goal.
Hello my name is Melanie!! I studied Dance, Kinesiology, and Business at a University, where I graduated in 2018. The past couple of years I have been teaching dance, Spanish, and strength and conditioning classes. I’ve gotten to work with all types of people and have loved the progress each individual has made from them. The most exciting things about all classes I teach is that it’s always a fun process and never do I want you to feel that it’s impossible, I make sure you leave confident because you understand and have progressed already in just ONE class towards your goals and needs. I look forward to helping you succeed and to work with you!
My daughter had a birthday party and she told me all she wanted to do was have her friends come over and have someone teach them dance, and an overall fun dance party at the end! So we went on here and reached out to Melanie and see how she felt about it, she was all in and excited. She came that day and they all had so much fun, and then every so often when the girls come for sleepovers, we contact Melanie to come teach them classes and even do make-up with the girls as she is so skilled at many things! Can't wait to have her over again!

I loved the way Melanie taught and listened to my mother. I set her up for strength and conditioning classes simply to keep her moving more as she is older. She would give my mother exercises for her body to help her stay strong and then again my mother would look forward to her classes each week. Very motivating and inspiring she is!

Melanie is the best Spanish Teacher I have ever had. I had taken classes from others for many years and still struggled with the language. I wanted to hold a little more conversation in Spanish and advance to the levels like I did in her classes. Such a happy and fun instructor! Thank you Señora Melanie.
"Stephen has been giving our teenager daughter weekly lessons in "J-pop" dancing. Even though his background does not include this particular style, he has
done a great job of staying ahead of our daughter, and-even more importantly-encouraging and motivating her to keep at it. (Since dancing is one of the few exercises she will do willingly, this is key!) She looks forward to the weekly lesson and so do we."
"Stephen's a great instructor that makes you instantly feel at ease. Dance class was fun!"
"Very thorough and detailed. Really easy to learn from and understand the important foundations. Tom was able to relate and figure out the specific thing
s to really focus on to improve on."
"Jordan is an amazing instructor and really takes the time to teach and explain using her experiences and expertise. Jordan will turn you into the dancer y
ou dream of becoming."
"Tanya was terrific She arrived on time with no glitches and was able to get music playing and class started promptly. She worked with my 16 year old
daughter Olivia who had a great time, and they made plans for what they will be focusing on in the future. Tanya is a gifted dancer, but even better, she is a great teacher too. !"
"Very patient and takes time to make sure I'm doing it right. Will go over steps until I get it down and she was nice."
"Tom’s focus on perfecting timing, frame and basic fundamentals added a brand new level to my game. I recently made a dance team and he showed me exactly h
ow pro footwork looks like and how I can get there, while also putting me at ease about it.
He also followed up with me later to see what differences the lesson made in my social dancing. If you’re trying to learn Brazilian Zouk, Tom is an excellent teacher."
Whether you're a veteran dancer or you're just beginning to learn ballroom dancing, every dancer needs a partner. If you haven't already found your perfect partner, keep your eyes peeled for these seven winning characteristics.
