My English lessons will focus on using grammar, writing and speech in real life situations. As an English teacher, I have much experience with the English structures, vocabulary, and communication skills.
Everyone has a beautiful voice. Let me teach you how to make it heard.
My passion for music is the most pervasive quality of my personality. Consequently, passing that passion on to others is what brings me the most joy in life. My goal is to spread the love and appreciation for this unique and transcending art form through guidance, performance, and instruction. As my student, you will receive exactly what you (or your child) want out of the lessons-you are the one controlling what you want from them (be it any style of music, professional track or just for fun, music theory, and performance) and I am there to provide it. Music is nothing short of extremely fun and completely liberating.
I have always loved to sing and play guitar and piano starting from a young age, and I never gave up my determination and passion for perfor
ming. In middle and high school I did many musicals (Jekyll and Hyde, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver, Miss Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, Footloose, Kiss Me Kate, and Cats) and sang in the choir (including the California All State Honor Choir and Jazz Choir). I played guitar in the school Jazz Band and participated in many jam sessions out of school. I also participated in many piano competitions, including ones for my own composition (I received an honorable mention for one of my own piano works). In college, I received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Redlands. I have recently completed my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands. I have performed many opera roles including Suor Angelica in Puccini's Suor Angelica, Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata, the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, and Najade in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos. I was also in the University Chapel Singers Choir, Madrigals Choir, and Treblemakers a Capella Jazz choir. I currently reside in Germany where I am teaching online lessons to students all over the world, teaching English, and pursuing an opera career. So far I have sung the role of the Queen of the Night in Weimar, Germany and have done a few concerts singing Christine from the Phantom of the Opera.
"Hard work beats talent if talent does not work hard." This is my favorite quote. I truly believe that hard work will take you anywhere, no matter where your starting point is. With hard work and determination, you can be anything you want to be. With motivation, anyone can be a beautiful singer, guitarist, and pianist. If I did not believe this with all my heart, I would not be where I am today. To me, every student has great potential. It is my job and joy to bring out that potential and cultivate it into talent, love, and passion.
My lessons are fun and rewarding. I do not believe that a critical environment is one that is healthy or pleasant to learn in. Therefore, I am a very encouraging, patient, and supportive teacher, and I will praise you for your improvements, as well as help you correct your difficulties. I like to think of my lessons as a team effort, with more emphasis on working together and having fun. With that being said, I believe that you get what you put in out of our lessons. The more you practice and the more you show me determination and motivation, the more we can have fun, improve technique, and really make music in our lessons.
I customize each lesson to my student, so you tell me what you want to sing or play and what your goals as a musician are, and I will instruct you (or your child) in the exact way that fits your goals and interests. After a couple months with me, you will have a new found passion for music, knowledge of proper technique, reading and diction, and the skills to perform and communicate pieces of music. Most importantly, you will have the time of your life!
My voice lessons consist of vocal warm-ups where you learn proper technique and posture, breathing exercises to expand your diaphragm and support when you sing, and Repertoire work where you apply the technique you learned, practice performance skills, and learn diction of English, Italian, German, Hebrew, or French.
My guitar and piano lessons start with learning how to read music (if you do not know already) and being familiar with the keys or frets and the notes on the staff. Then we work on pieces of music, paying attention to the key factors of musicianship including rhythm, interpretation, dynamics, composition, musicality, and performance practice. My music theory lessons are based on whatever the student wants to learn or needs instruction on. I teach anywhere from basic music notation to advanced harmonic and formal analysis.
My speaking and lessons are similar to my voice lessons, minus the singing aspect-the same technique we use for singing is the technique we must use for speaking if we want to be heard, be healthy, and not get tired or worse - lose our voice. We work on breathing and projection techniques and then practice on a reading sample or presentation.
My acting lessons consist of different improv-acting games, projection techniques, and monologue and role studies. You will learn how to communicate a message to the audience clearly and effectively while having a wonderful time!
My language and tutoring classes are focused on fluency-getting comfortable speaking in the target language. We go through chapters of a lesson plan I created myself-learning vocabulary and grammar by learning the functions of them and completing speaking goals. After just a few lessons, you will find that you will be able to converse in your target language. Your individual pace is the most important to me, so we learn at the speed that you are the most comfortable with.
All I expect from you is to bring a pencil, a good attitude, and the willingness to practice and work hard in our lessons, and I will supply the rest! Looking forward to hearing your beautiful music or voice!
I have taught over twenty English students from kindergarten through college graduates (research papers, policy analysis papers, etc.).
I build language arts skills in speaking, reading comprehension, listening and writing. I cover vocabulary, spelling, grammar, sentence structure, tenses, subject-verb agreement and punctuation, etc.

After speaking to multiple tutoring companies, we discovered Matthew. Matthew was very professional and made my son feel comfortable. They had a total of 5 tutoring sessions covering Math, English, Science and Reading. My son took the ACT after his tutoring sessions and scored a 23. We were very pleased with the progress our son made by going from an ACT score of 19 to 23 after only 5 sessions with Matthew. I would highly recommend Matthew J. Horwich to anyone needing tutoring.

Matthew explained his approach to coaching and the plan so we were able to make an educated choice on the best tutor for our son. Matthew was responsive, organized and worked very well with our son. He communicated directly with our son and cc:ed me so that I was aware of the plan and f/u. His scores did improve on the SAT and we were pleased with the investment.

Matt has been awesome for my student. His math skills have improved greatly, and his writing has come from illegible to what can now be described as neat and readable. Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. We would recommend this tutor to any parent looking for a tutor for their grammar school student! Matt is also reliable and prompt and showed up when expected which was helpful with our very busy schedules.
I teach my kids how to read and annotate texts. It is important to look up all unfamiliar words in the dictionary. And make outlines of chapters that are read read.
A bit of information about myself: I have been tutoring for over ten years and am very familiar with the public and private school systems in Manhattan. I teach everything from Algebra II to American History, specializing in organizational and study skills.
I am a Columbia University graduate. Graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a 3.97 GPA. I currently tutor and also run a music education non-profit called Nvak.
I am meticulous, patient, and caring. I invest 100% of my energy in making sure that the kids that I take on are getting the individualized attention they need and that they are becoming more independent and more confident each session.
Please feel free to contact me via the site to let me know, specifically, what the needs of your child are.

Very patient and knows how to connect with her student

Tamar is a wonderful, dynamic and enthousiastic teacher and my 12 year old daughter had a great time with her.
Tamar knows when to slow down if her student is tired, but is also demanding so as to be sure that progress are made.
It was a pleasure seeing how fast my daughter improved her English and we both appreciated meeting Tamar, who is a great person :)

My own love for teaching youth and fostering the passion for learning about themselves, the world, and their place in it, will grow tremendously through the shared learning experience that the program offers. From Germany to Southern Mexico, I have gained a wealth of life experience and further developed my bilingual communication skills while working, living, traveling, and volunteering in communities home to multiethnic and socio-economic diversity. In Los Angeles, I provided in-class instruction and counseling for high school and college students in multiple municipalities such as East Los Angeles and Downtown. Serving Black, Latino, Asian, Caucasian, and Indigenous communities, my students reflect the linguistic, cultural, and ethnic diversity of the city’s population. I also have a TESOL training certificate.
I divide my lessons into small chunks/parts to make it more understandable. The best way to grasp the attention of learners is to run absorbing and fun activities. Warm ups play a very essential role in making the lesson more comprehensive.
Would you like to take your English talking proficiency to the next dimension? Make sense of how to pass through your mind effectively and diminish your inflection? My name is Safoora S. I am an English language educator. Encouraging English is my obsession. Consequently, I have had the benefit of being a level 5 certified TEFL teacher with online/onsite English instructing background.
I see firsthand with 5 years of experience what it resembles to realize a moment of learning second language and this is the reason I have examined English in detail. Also, I am fun loving and I fancy meeting all individuals who really want to learn English.

I focus a lot on conversation practice because throughout the years I have noticed that this is a great way to make the student improve.
On the other hand, I do have a lot material to teach you from
Hi, my name is Milton. I am 27 years old, I am Salvadoran but I live in Brazil for six months every year. I have traveled to Guatemala, Panama, and Brazil. I like learning languages and that is the reason why I speak excellent English and Portuguese. Currently, I am learning French.
On my free time, I go to the gym, listen to music, read, watch movies and go shopping.
I study Modern Languages at the university of El Salvador and there I discovered my passion in teaching. I started working with a NGO where I taught English, then I was hired at a public and private school. Also I did some teaching via Skype and that is how I helped others to improve their learning course.
Most of the time, my students ask me to prepare a conversational class where the student chooses a topic of his/her interest. When I had a classroom, I used to use a b
ook from where I would prepare my class. I like using current topics to keep the student's attention going.
Ralph is a good man and wonderful teacher. He really worry about if student learning. He Carefully prepare the lessons and always ask if student are comfortable or wants other kind of topic. His qualities are punctuality, attention, preparedness and ability to teach.

Ralph has a lot of patience and he likes talking about everything also he makes the lesson very attractive. By the way he is going to improve your english level.
May 2, 2019
I've been taking lessons with Ralph for almost a year now over Skype and I'm so pleased with my improvement. I'm always impressed with the preparation Ralph does for each lesson - a huge list of conversation topics or an article to discuss - and appreciate his enthusiasm, good humor, and patience. I started at an upper-intermediate level and Ralph has helped me refine the finer points of speaking to sound more native. Highly recommended!
I have a Bachelor's Degree in English with special concentration in creative writing. I have spend half of my college career studying Shakespeare (as well as many other literary legends), Practical Grammar, Philosophers such as Aristotle, and poetry structure. I am also a freelance writer, previously was the head of an all women's online magazine in undergrad, and a book lover so I spend most of my time with words as it is my first love. I'm excited to get your skills advanced in this subject!
Hi students! I am an experienced writer, content creator and marketing nerd. I graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelors of Arts in English, with a specification in Creative Writing.
I am also the former President of Her Campus's GSU chapter, which is an online women's magazine founded by 3 women at Harvard University, and providing content for collegiate women all over the U.S and outside of the U.S as well. I've written for multiple publications outside of this website and I also write for my own wellness focused website.
Writing students can expect to improve week to week by continuing to practice and to not only do so during our sessions but also on their own time. Every single person has their own unique voice when writing and I intend to develop it more and clean up any structural errors in the process. I can guide
any person to write with more ease, confidence, and unique sense of style!
When being President of Her Campus I was assisting 40 women develop their own voices and special interests/inches when writing for the magazine. We held workshops to assist with this and we also held multiple events that would cultivate their skills that were transferrable to their different career aspirations.
My personal passion is writing and it's how I express myself the best, so I hope to help you do the same. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better writer!
Would definitely recommend Krystal to anyone that needs help with writing work . Her background in English shines through while going over your concerns for writing. Whether it's an 8 page paper, sentence structure, brainstorming ideas for your writing projects, she is amazing! I definitely will be booking her again as an instructor
I love people and and would love to not only help you get better at English, but also connect, learn, grow, share, support, succeed.
I am so excited to help you improve and perfect your English, while also connecting with you, making it personal, customizing every single lesson to your interests, needs, passions. This approach has helped many students switch their attitude to the process of learning. Getting to know something new should always be exciting! Can't wait to have my next lesson with you.
"I had the opportunity to work with Douglas a number of times during my tenure as a part-time instructor at SCORE Educational Center. What I noticed about
him was that he related very well to the children he worked with - he was a very enthusiastic tutor of English and math! He was most generous with the "high fives" and praise, and he also knew how to get students back on track if their focus strayed. Also, I saw him work very well with the parents; he always took the time to patiently explain lesson plans and students' progress between sessions. I have known Douglas personally for many years. He was the one who encouraged me to work at SCORE Educational Center given my background in Education - I thank him for that because I enjoyed my time there very much while I was able to stay (unfortunately, I had to leave that position for a full-time job elsewhere). SCORE Educational Center is no longer in existence. Douglas currently works as an independent tutor, and given how long I've seen clients stick with him, I have no doubt that they are enjoying the same level of attention and enthusiasm he provided at SCORE. When he speaks about the progress of independent clients and how they respond to him, it is with enthusiasm and a glowing smile. If you are looking for a tutor that is intelligent, dedicated, enthusiastic, and simply great with kids and parents, then Douglas is your man."
