I've had a book published and have written for a multi-national newspaper. I also got A grades right up until I finished college with English Literature and Creative Writing. I also have done numerous public speaking engagements and have studied acting and theatre with A grades all the way through college.

My style of teaching is very relaxed and informal, I want students to feel they can be equals with me, and gain confidence and be proud of their work. I set homework but I also encourage students to get creative in their own time and to show initiative! Reading is vital to growing your knowledge and also for confidence and speaking in public.

Lessons can involve looking at literature and different styles of writing, as well as finding something that sparks the imagination and interest. I work especially well with young teens and pre-teens, as well as those who are looking to further their reading skills.

I also look at Shakespeare and modern plays, as well as screenplays, ...

Reading music is what I prefer to teach my students. It’s fun to “jam” but I feel Im especially good at teaching beginners how to learn to read their music from the beginning.

My reading lessons are geared toward the struggling learner as well as those that need a jumpstart to the next level. I also can gear any lesson to those students that have diverse learning needs.

My name is Grace & reading/language arts is my passion. Growing up I struggled with reading, which motivated me to stay after school with my teacher, take personal time to practice, and come up with fun ways to improve my skills.

Having fun and staying positive are extremely important to me and I make sure to convey that to my students at all times. My students will learn unique comprehension, spelling, and phonics skills. I sincerely am excited to meet and be of assistance in any way.
