With 15 years of poetry-writing and songwriting experience, Liz loves to teach songwriting with passion and creativity. She uses practices such as improvisation and listening to encourage and develop each student's individual creative style.
After graduating California Institute of the Arts with a multi-focus on several aspects of music including African dance, Indonesian gamelan, songwriting, recording, classical voice and piano, folk guitar, and more, Liz had the excellent opportunity to teach theater to a local musical theater summer youth program. All summer, she taught class sizes ranging from 10 to 26 students of the ages 5-10. Her initiative later led to being hired at this local community theater. Along with this theater teaching experience, she has been teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, flute & voice lessons for over 10 years. Her students have gone from knowing nothing about music to learning and performing entire pieces on their own as well as even auditioning & for agents and becoming signed artists in Los Angeles. Liz knows that it is her place in the world to tea
ch music & spread positivity through her own music and would love nothing more than make learning music a positive and fun experience for everyone.

Don was very kind, patient, and encouraging. He brought over a lot of his own materials so it was much less stressful trying to find things to do.

Hello, thank you for your interest in taking music classes and reading my profile! :) My name is Yuliya Borshchova,
Over the past 15 years, I have taught hundreds of classes both children and adults students. My specialties are: 1. Piano 2. Vocal 3. Music Theory 4. Music composition and improvisation class 5. Ear training
Learning about music can be complicated and confusing especially when there are so many courses; different methods available just click away on the internet. There are a lot to learn as notation, chords, rhythmical patterns, music terminology, music styles and so on.
It is like learning new language could be overwhelming and make many students give up on their dream. Also learning on your own without any step by step instructions, easy- to follow method and goals in mind can make you fr
ustrated and lose your motivation and enthusiasm very fast.
I've been studying music since I was 6 years old. First 7 years in Music school, then 4 years of Music college and another 4 years in Conservatory of Music in Kazakhstan. I graduated as a choir conductor, pianist, and vocalist. With 15 years of music studying and 15 years of teaching piano and voice to hundreds of students of all levels, I know all struggles and obstacles you might have and I know what works to overcome it and be the best musician you can be!
For me teaching music classes it's not just assignment to make my students understand the concept and develop skills, but much more;
1. First of all, I must know a student's need.
Why do you want to learn? What is behind of that intention? What is your goal and how I can help you reach it? Sometimes we discovering it together in the process of learning setting new and new goals as you progress.
I will be able to help you better and take you to the direction you want to go to after identifying the starting point, where do we begin?
2. Second, I believe that any learning will be successful if you are having fun and a good time doing it, feeling encouraged. I'm very generous in praising to my students, high fives, hugs, stickers any anything to make my students feel good about accomplishing the even small assignment. I also know that If you feel bored or frustrated you not going to stick for a long time with your commitment and you not going to learn anything.
Playing a musical instrument or singing is a very personal experience and I design my classes and choose music and techniques the way that it suits your level and fit your personality. I try to make my classes fun, challenging and building the momentum so you can get most out the class and most importantly you are having fun while learning and engaged in the process.
3. Third, For my piano, voice and theory classes I use easy to follow the method of developing skills, techniques, and understanding of the concept. I always break challenging parts in small steps which make it easy to understand and learn.
4. Fourth, you will always have goals set up and quick start action plan which is broken into small easy assignments. The quick start plan shows exactly how you can get going in record time and get off to a great start. For that purpose, I use different method books and different music pieces.
You have a clear direction what your goals are and how to achieve them and progress when you practicing on your own.
5. Teaching my students is not a job for me, it's enjoyment and commitment to share my passion for music and knowledge, inspire and encourage them. Music has changed my life and I hope I'll help you to change yours!
My goal is to make every class to be built around these 5 aspects mentioned above, as well as provide value, demonstrate and encourage.
My mission to make sure that my students learning at their own speed without any pressure, without feeling overwhelmed or frustrated, understanding the concept I am teaching to. Also, I want to make sure that they are walking out of class with a sense of accomplishment and understanding the concept which is important for making progress and moving forward.
Lastly, I am committed to the success of my students and eager to build a long-term relationship with them. I'm flexible and committed, some of my students have been with me
Lesson process: I am teaching one on one classes in my home studio here in North Miami Florida, or via Skype or Google+ Hangout, you could be anywhere in the world and take the class with me.
The time of the lessons may vary, I usually suggest 30 min a trial lesson to meet and greet, as well as establish goals. We will talk about the schedule and will set up a regular schedule around convenient time for both.
1. Beginners are taken through the fundamentals.
2. You will explore a range of pieces to expand your skills and begin to identify your preferences.
3. On first lesson, you will be learning new exercises to get you started and homework assignments.
4. Also, you going to get work/method book and practice plan
Good luck and hope I can help you to take piano playing, singing or music writing to the next level! If you have any question prior to signing up you are welcome to contact me through Q&A.

Julia is a wonderful teacher. she is great with kids. my daughter will be taking more lessons when she is a bit older. we started too young!
"Christopher is a wonderful teacher. He truly cares and does his very best to help you learn. He knows exactly how to effectively help you understand and m
ove forward. I appreciate what I am learning from him and how he is so patient. I feel safe enough to take creative chances during our lessons (I'm pretty rusty). I'm grateful to have found him. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, conscientious, caring, trustworthy and genuine - and a really great guy. I highly recommend him without reservation."
"Keira is an excellent teacher who loves sharing her insight with others. I would recommend her for all ages as she works equally well with children and a
dults. Her background in songwriting across different genres helped shaped my music into songs I love playing."
"Technology today is incredible. I'm in Norway, Fawn is in Los Angeles. Where else could I find a quality teacher with a couple of hit songs help me at my
craft? If it weren't for the internet I would have never found such a talented songwriter to help me tighten my songs. I love, love, LOVE the time I spend with Fawn hashing out my songs to record with my band in the studio. She is so gifted, easy going, precise and fun. She really respects keeping the integrity and emotions of my songs and is good at keeping people open to changes that are necessary to make a mediocre song great."
"I have been looking for somebody to help write and notate my songs. I went to some producers and music teachers for help with my songs. I wish I would hav
e to run into Carlos back then. Carlos is very knowledgeable about songwriting and just music in general. He takes his time to always listen to my ideas and then helps me organize my melodies and chords. He even helps me write my songs down. I am glad I am working with him and would like to recommend Carlos to any songwriter."
"Fawn is an amazing teacher. I've been taking songwriting classes from her and I learn something new every lesson. She's very sweet, talented, encouraging,
and understanding. I was nervous to take lessons online at first, as I've never done it before, then was unsure who I should take from because I didn't want to get someone who was terrible. I got really lucky though, I highly recommend her. She's absolutely fantastic."
"Mimi is a very patient, compassionate, instructive, and inspirational teacher, and I am learning a lot about songwriting from her. Definitely several poin
ts above average!:)"
"Jan's direction gets results!
Jan is one of the most nurturing people I've had the pleasure of being around. She's constantly helping me with all aspects
of my career, including gaining my own students. She takes the time to ask how I'm doing personally and does whatever she can to encourage me. Jan has given me many tools that have greatly increased my skill as a vocalist, and the things she has done for my songwriting are revolutionary! She's been able to get me to think of my songs as a story, with the angle of thinking about writing a movie script, an entire story before I even begin to write lyrics. It's me write much better songs and I could not have done that without her. I highly recommend!"
"Thomas is a wonderful teacher, he is helping me gather my thoughts on the songwriting process and provides excellent guidance on how to proceed in my own
practice as a novice."
"Having worked with Greg over the course of several years now, I have the deepest respect for his teaching ability. As a performer with over 25 years of ex
perience, I find it a rare and special talent for someone as gifted as Greg is (as an artist) to be as humble and willing to listen as he most certainly is. He promotes a learning atmosphere of safety while also ensuring excellence is produced by students. His grasp on musical theory is second to none, and his skill as a seasoned guitarist ensures that what is being taught by him is both credible and of the highest standards. I am privileged to know Greg personally as well as professionally, and I can vouch (once again) for his humility, skill, professionalism, credibility as a working artist, integrity, and work ethic. His heart is to watch the lights go on in his students and his passion in doing so serve to distinguish him as one of th"
