Lessons are fun. My philosophy is that students should have music in their lives and benefit from the lessons they take now for years to come. Learning to play a musical instrument will help students with math skills, study habits, and develop a skill that will last for a lifetime.

After 3 months students will understand the fundamentals of their string instrument, know how to care for their instrument, warm up properly, be able to read and play introductory passages. After 6 months the student will have learned basic music theory, how to read music, and have advanced through playing multiple songs.

About Betsy
Music is the biggest passion in my life. I love being able to share that gift with my students, and look forward to their progress as much as my own. I continue to grow and develop as a musician, and love connecting with people through music. My students all learn to love and appreciate music, theory and performing as I share my knowledge and expertise.

I have degrees in Violin, Viola and Vocal Performance, that I earned while on full scholarship for music. I started violin as a young child with the Suzuki Method and later added viola. I began singing professional gigs while still in high school, and was the youngest member ever with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Chorus at 17. I also have extensive experience singing in non-classical groups and bands and am comfortable performing and teaching musical theater, pop, country,
opera, operetta, and church music. With solid vocal technique my students are able to cross genres with ease, and sing whatever inspires them musically.

I currently play viola with the La Jolla Symphony, and have sung with the San Diego Master Chorale and the San Diego Symphony. I was concertmaster in several symphony orchestras and have played as section leader for viola in numerous groups. I also play in and manage a string quartet and am also currently coaching small group string ensembles. My siblings and I have played in our family string quartet for over 20 years, and still perform together. Most recently I was chosen to record a new song Glow for Disneyland's California Adventure World of Color Winter Dreams.

I am comfortable teaching with various different methods, and cater lesson plans to the individual student. With over 14 years of teaching experience, I have taught students that vary in age from 3 to 75 years old, and am very comfortable with teaching children.

After 3 months students will understand the fundamentals of their string instrument or voice, know how to care for their instrument, warm up properly, be able to read and play/sing introductory passages. *** Travel Equipment ***
I have a violin and viola that I bring to assist in teaching lessons. I expect that the students provide an instrument and their books. A keyboard or piano is essential for voice students for vocalization. A student need not know how to play piano in order to take voice lessons.

*** Specialties ***
Vocal students are encouraged to pick songs from whatever genre sparks their interest. With violin and viola I use the suzuki method of training and follow the books and lessons, I use other books to supplement scales/technique.

Beginner & intermediate violin practices include the Suzuki methods, duets, theory, and an understanding of the violin as a whole. I will encourage students to eventually learn compositions of their choosing.

About Olivia
I love to create. The way I'm most comfortable creating is through writing; whether it's a song, a short story, a poem or a script. Writing has always been the bass line in my life; the heartbeat.

Music and film are both passions of mine. I graduated from Berklee College of Music where I studied Songwriting and Music Therapy. I was pushed to my absolute limits lyrically and musically within these majors, and I am so grateful for it now that I'm on my own creative journey.

I have a great deal of experience, but I am also still learning. I think it is very important as a teacher to always be learning, especially through their students. Teaching these lessons is, of course, about progress and advancement - but also about enjoyment, confidence building and positive encouragement.

Its easy to lose yourself in the movements of music, but believe it or not there are mechanisms you can learn to convey your own art. Classical music is about executing interpretation and I focus on teaching the tools violinists can use to realize their vision of the music.

About Jacques
Jacques is a recent graduate of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music. There he received Bachelors in Instrumental performance and minor in Chemistry. Jacques started violin at age four while living in Southern Illinois. He later moved to Homestead, Florida with his family and began playing in school and youth orchestras throughout the region. Jacques graduated from Coral Reef Senior High School where he returned to regularly to coach chamber music, teach sectionals, and give masterclasses. For the past four years, Jacques has taught chamber music through the Miami Youth for Chamber Music program. Recently, he moved to NY where he will be a fellow in the Orchestra Now. In NY he hopes to continue teaching and hopes to bring his knowledge to students regardless of where they may be through the platform of online teaching.

Jacques Gadway is a great teacher of the violin. He quickly adjusted to my pace of learning and realized my skill level which is so important! He has this sense of patience when it came to my learning and also has excellent time management within 1 hour of a lesson, as he can go on and on to lecture about ways to approach a certain technique or to a piece but somehow still finds time to move on and keeps you moving forward. Each lesson with this instructor had me leaving refreshed and inspired for another week of practice, practice, practice!

我效力于马塞诸塞州昆西市交响乐团和南新罕布什尔乐团。我的教学中文英文皆可。

About Yingli
I study the violin since I was 4 years old, maybe like you. Or your kids. I know your parents put too much desire on you, which wants you being SUCESSFUL. I know you can’t understand that, and you can’t accept what they trying to give to you. However, MUSIC is not about successful nothing about personal achievement. After a long time, like your parents teach you how to walk, then you can walk a long long distance. For me I travel another side of the world, I miss my home, China, the people, nature, everything. I also enjoy the world what I have right now… keep going, no worries…
