Saxophone Lessons in Kiamesha Lake, NY

Each lesson includes studies of fundamental techniques, ear training, and music history in order to facilitate the development of a whole musician.

I'm a full-time musician in the music industry for 13 years now performing with such artists as J.C. Chasez (N'Sync), Tony-award winner Alice Ripley along with several theater companies. I've also coached multiple band programs for 4 years now. Success comes from having a thorough understanding of each instrument I play. This allows for multiple approaches to learning each instrument, rapid development of the student and involving fun teaching techniques. You'll learn fast and enjoy doing it!

I have played saxophone for 7 years, and have taught saxophone student's as a P.A.L.S. teacher at the Aspen Music Summer Festival. I enjoy teaching everything from beginning fundamentals to jazz and improvisation.

Experienced teacher of 6 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so that students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of saxophone skills. I specialize in classical performance and typically use Standard of Excellence or Accent on Achievement band method books.

Saxophone was the first instrument, aside from Piano, that I started to play. I started in 4th grade with this instrument until my middle school teacher in 6th grade asked me to switch to French horn. I continued to perform on Saxophone in our school's Jazz ensemble in Middle School and High School. I no longer play the Saxophone but can still teach students how to play the instrument!

I have been playing the saxophone since 1998. My teaching experience in itself equals to some 10 years.

Through this time period, I have been working with Beginner to Advanced-level students of any ages. We have been practicing in my professional studio, at my trainees’ premises or via Skype.

To any student of mine I offer a tried-and-true combination of techniques that have eventually made up my state-of-the-art teaching methodic.
It contains, but is not limited to, the following:

- developing beginner musicians’ skill;
- establish the basis of musical theory including learning musical notation and reading scores;
- gaining extensive practice through performing popular classic to hit tunes;
- giving rise to intermediate-level saxophonists’;
- getting to know how to play in ensemble;
- learning how to improvise in a variety of genres.
- polishing advanced sax players’ mastery.

And, no doubt, helping prepare for an upcoming concert or competition is an option, too,
