I was a Math Major at Boston University. I was a an instructor in differential equations. During my college career I tutored alll specializing in the 5 to 17 age.. Typically my students went from a D average to a B average after they had been tutored. My patience and positive attitude made it easier for the students to grasp the concepts and succeed in the classroom.

I'm in my 11th year of teaching history, social studies, government, world history and started in Special Education. Because of my early foundation in Special Education I specialize in not only teaching but helping identify opportunities to improve your chances of succeeding in school. As I teach, I also provide study skills and test taking strategies, as well. Lessons will be differentiated to help accommodate anyone's learning style. I like to use visual aids, texts, videos, and hands on tools (artifacts)

Mr Guy is a super talented and passionate teacher, he will never give up on the student until success, by success I mean 95s and above. History can be a hard class as there is a lot of timelines and events that have happened, especially world history. After having him as a teacher I have never stopped thinking about the timelines and the events, and the best part of Guy as a teacher, he will make sure that you understand both sides of the story, such as from an American side, and German side. This opens my mind up to an international viewpoint, and I have been able to have conversations with historians about for example WW2 and I have managed to surprise them with my knowledge, only because of Mr Guy.
Never have I ever met such a passionate teacher in my entire life, and I would even want him to private tutor me if I was still taking History.

Alex is amazing! She is funny, knowledgable, and she meets you where you're at! I'm definitely a beginner at make-up and she had excellent advice for products and processes. She was always willing to show me things again or follow my lead with where I wanted to the lessons to go! Highly Recommend.

I've used calculus in my career for 35 years, as a mechanical engineer and a computational physicist. I know how to solve problems from several different perspectives, so if a student is struggling with one method, I have a repertoire of other techniques to deploy. I find that students thrive when they are given solid examples of solutions and the content isn't hidden from them. I can help expand a student's advantage with computational tools such as Excel and Matlab to accelerate knowledge and deeper understanding.

About Thomas

I am a computational physicist and a business strategist with the navy, and an adjunct professor at NVCC in engineering and computer science. I've worked with some brilliant young scientists and engineers from all over the world and I'm a continuous learner. I have a Doctor of Science Degree in F

"I was once lost in math, and I didn't know what to do or if i was even going to pass the final. I reached out to Rod and he helped me like no body else could. He really made me understand Math. I felt Rod was so good, that I made him my tutor for the following semester as well. Because of Rod I passed, I couldn't have done it without him, and I'm glad he was on this journey with me. Just would like to give a big Thank you to Rod!"

"Where to start. Alex is a just a great all around person. He makes learning fun. As long as you put in the time and effort he will guide you through to where you need to be. Never a dull moment, as his lessons bring out the best in you. I would highly recommend going to him, as his style is very different than other tutors or professors. He encourages you to engage in what you are studying; to be proactive and animated, which ultimately leads to results, while having fun in the process. His style is the way learning in general should be. His techniques will train you to remain calm in the face of adversity. You will not regret going to Alex. Again, as long as you put in the time, he will help you get the results you want."

"Professor Alex is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful instructors that I have ever had. Regardless of the subject matter, Alex presents the subject matter to students in a way that is much easier to understand as compared to the generic cookie cutter or "straight from the textbook" explanation. In doing this, learning from Alex is not the typical memorization of information but rather the actual understanding of concepts and how they can be applied to a variety of situations."

5 Strategies for Developing Writing Skills

Unlike some other academic skills, the ability to write well is something that follows you from elementary school all throughout your life, particularly if you work in an office environment - so it's no wonder there's such an emphasis on it in school! From creative short stories and descriptive paragraphs in elementary school to lengthier prose and argumentative essays in high school, and then implementing those skills to write research and term papers in college, students spend a great deal …
