I am also a composition teacher. I work with composition students from beginner to advance. My composition students, over the years, range from all ages starting at 7. My students, after the first year, have been able to write string quartets and piano trios. My advanced students have entered competitions all over the country and are very successful in their composition practice. Some of their compositions have been performed in famous concert halls and schools.
As a vocal coach, I work with students of all ages. The repertoire that I recommend to beginner students includes Disney, Broadway and classical music. For intermediate and advanced vocal student, I have successfully prepared them for competitions, Broadway and University auditions as well as personal enjoyment.
Most recently I held a piano, composition and vocal recital for my students at the world famous Steinway Hall in New York City. I believe that some students work better when there is motivation for performance activities. For that reason I host these type of events. Students that decide they want to take place in these events perform among all levels. I offer these performance opportunities as an invitation. Each student has a choice as to whether they would like to perform.

I will break down the nuances of learning the piano in a friendly, clear, and articulate manner. We will discuss various concepts of the acoustic guitar in the styles and songs you enjoy most.

About Adam
A graduate of the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Music and Psychology and trained at renowned National Guitar Workshop, Adam is an experienced teacher and performer on the guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass in a variety of styles, including rock, pop, jazz, classical, and folk. Adam loves to share his passion for music with others, and ever since his first student, an autistic child, Adam has sought to make learning music fun, regardless of age, style, and ability.

*** Lesson Details ***
My approach to teaching music is strictly an individualized one, catering to the specific interests and goals of each student. I believe that if learning music is truly enjoyable and fun, students will develop a sincere love for their instrument. In teaching children, my emphasis is on instilling in them a love of music. While progressing in mus
ic obviously requires preparation outside of lessons, I consciously avoid asking students to practice. Instead, I incorporate the music and styles that appeal most to the student and use them as vehicles for teaching concepts.

I strive to make learning music fun, regardless of age, style, and ability. I organize an annual recital to showcase my students' talents and hard work.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I will provide all music and instructional materials, and ask that students provide a clean, quiet area to hold our lesson, ideally with a music stand. I also ask that a student provide their own instrument. If providing an instrument is not possible, I ask that the student notify me so I can provide an instrument for them in the interim.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in a wide range of styles on the acoustic and electric guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass.

I explain music theory in a fun, clear, and articulate manner and show its benefits and application in song writing, learning music, and playing by ear. My extensive background in rock, classical, pop, folk, and jazz allows for a truly cater my instruction to my student's tastes.

I make it my mission to structure my lessons on my student's goals and interests and avoid imposing concepts that don't interest my students.

Adam is a teacher par excellence. I am self taught from a well known book. I was doing well I thought until I got stuck. Adam gently showed me where I erred and made great suggestions for me to move on correctly. I never felt rushed or “ put down.” Adam was patient, open for questions, encouraging, comforting. I know I need much help to correct and advance in guitar from matters such as tuning, restringing, reading, and other things too many to write about. I look forward to my next lesson with enthusiasm.

I studied music and piano at the University of Central Florida. My main focus there was classical and jazz guitar, but I also had to demonstrate my proficiency in piano. I've been playing and teaching piano for six years since then. I've worked with young children, teenagers, and even adults, so I'm happy to work with new students, novice to intermediate, of any age.

Lessons are built on a foundation of reading music notation and basic harmonic theory. We learn everything from from Bach to Beethoven and beyond! I'm happy to recommend books for beginners, depending on the age and skill level of the student.

About Gio
I studied music at UCF (Orlando), focusing on classical and jazz guitar, but I also have years of experience playing rock, blues, folk, hip-hop, and musical theater on both guitar and drums.

I have been teaching guitar, drums, and piano for about eight years to students of all ages. Music is what I'm passionate about and it's what I enjoy. I want to inspire that same passion into the hearts and minds of others.

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a laid-back teacher, fun, and I focus on the needs, abilities, and ambitions of the student. In turn, students must realize that learning an instrument takes a lot of work and dedication. One can't expect to learn very much if s/he only practices or thinks about the instrument during the lesson. If the student is willing to put some time into practicing, then I will help them go far!

*** Studi
o Equipment ***
I have several guitars, a drum kit, djembe, mandolin, clarinet and full-size keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
Guitar: Classical, jazz, American or Irish folk, rock and pop; lead or rhythm.
Drums & Percussion: All genres
Piano: Classical (includes sight reading)

Classical music is the foundation for everything else!

I have been teaching piano for over 40 years, full-time for the past 15. Besides the actual repertoire, technique and theory are always included in my lessons because they are essential. Sight reading and ear training are also included in some lessons.

I stress accuracy in playing and attention to details! I also teach my students HOW to practice. Slow, accurate practice is the answer. Practicing takes patience!

Please note: Home lessons must be at a location that I can get to easily with public transportation. I do not have a car.

About Emil
I started to study the piano at the age of seven with Hrant Minassian in my hometown of Island Park, New York. During high school I continued my studies with Jack Chaikin , a graduate of the Juilliard School. I attended Hofstra University where I received a B.A. in Music in 1979. At Hofstra, my piano teachers were Blanche Abram and Morton Estrin.

After graduating from Hofstra, I moved into Manhattan and continued my piano studies with Elena Wolkonsky at the Juilliard School. I also took a few lessons from Adam Aleksander, concert pianist, in Miami. So all together, I took lessons for 20 years with six different teachers!

I started teaching piano when I was 18 years old and taught all throughout college. After enjoying a successful career in data processing for 22 years, I decided to go back to teaching piano in 2003.

I thoro
ughly enjoy what I am doing. It's a pleasure to pass on to my students everything that my great teachers taught me.

Emil was the teacher I was looking for. I have tried to learn piano on my own for a while now, but most of the time it became overwhelming. I wasn't sure I was going in the right direction, or if I was learning what I should know in the right order. So far, what Emil had done for me was to take what I've known already and add much more to it. He also has started to correct some bad habits I became accustomed to, which I would have never picked up on my own. He's very knowledgeable, and ties in music theory during the lesson. He's down to earth, throws in some jokes to lighten the mood, and create an enjoyable learning experience.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Music and Piano Performance at The Juilliard School studying with legendary pedagogue and Chair of Piano Dr. Veda Kaplinsky. I've traveled the musical world and studied with several of the world's most sought after pianists, including Sergei Babayan, mentor of international piano star Daniil Trifonov, as one of eight students worldwide accepted to his final Babayan International Piano Academy. I've performed with the Seattle Symphony amongst other concerts with orchestras in Europe, and perform regularly as a soloist in the greater NYC area and Seattle at venues including Carnegie Hall. Since beginning my teaching career, I've looked forward to sharing my knowledge with young students in order to nurture their artistic talents and unique musical sense. Students will be able to perceive piano not only as a skill and genuinely enjoyable activity, but also as the most sincere and effective form of emotional expression and as a friend with ...

About Max
Most recently, I was selected as one of eight pianists worldwide across all age divisions to attend The Verbier Festival's Artist Training Program in Switzerland, summer of 2018. I was the only American pianist to receive the honor this year.

I am currently a second-year undergraduate student at The Juilliard School in New York City, where I study with the Susan W. Rose Chair of Piano Department, Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and Hung-Kuan Chen; my history with the institution dates back to Juilliard Pre-College, where I graduated as a Juilliard Scholarship recipient. In addition to my formal musical education in classical piano, I'm also a graduate of the Lakeside School in Seattle, a highly selective, college preparatory school offering a rigorous academic program; notable alumni include Bill Gates, Paul Allen and the McCaw brothers. I am w
ell-versed and fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

I am well accustomed to working with young children, adolescents and teenagers along with the elderly in retirement homes, and hope to nurture and instill in each of my students a genuine, individualized passion for music, along with imparting to each student all the knowledge I've attained over 15 years of musical experience off and on stage, playing at the world's most acclaimed venues and studying with some of the world's most sought after pedagogues. Furthermore, my goal is to accelerate the learning curve and to bestow all I know as quickly as possible, not wasting time on useless irrelevancies. I've taught many years privately in the greater Seattle area, as a private teacher at the Aspen Music Festival and as a private teacher serving the NYC area since 2015. My students have won regional and international competitions for young people, and have performed at prestigious venues such as Benaroya Hall, Alice Tully @ Lincoln Center, the Kauffman Center, Foundation LV in Paris, and Carnegie Hall.

Max is an amazing instructor and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to seriously learn and enjoy the piano. Before I began my lessons with Max, I was stuck on the same piece for two months, there was very little progress being made. I had a total of two lessons with Max and now I'm able to comfortably play the piece from memory. I cannot stress enough how beneficial he was in my huge progress jump. I look forward to every lesson knowing I'm going to learn and be exposed to something new every time. I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano, but I thought I was too old now to even try. I'm so thankful that I took the leap anyway and started this amazing journey of learning the piano and I couldn't of asked for a better guide than Max on this journey.

He is a very promising Juilliard student.
His teaching reflects being educated by the world’s most sought after classical piano mentors.
What he teaches is unorthodox and complex in nature, but he teaches and demonstrates effectively in an easily comprehensive manner.
I believe that learning his skills will have a tremendous impact on my child’s future in both music and life.
I strongly recommend him to anyone who cannot be satisfied with other instructors.
PS: He works well to encourage and nurture youth, as my sons are 6 and 9 years old.

Kellon was what I hoped for; he plays and sings well- my music and his. We warmed up, then practiced some of my chorus music with him singing tenor to my alto, then we recorded the alto to Steal Away and the chorus to The A Train for me to learn. Perfect. Will be a big challenge to sing alto against a strong tenor.

To my teaching, I bring almost forty years of experience as a performer, recording artist, and historian. I teach students of any age (i.e. children, teenagers, and adults), and at all levels of experience (i.e. beginners, intermediate, and advanced), the technical and expressive intricacies of the standard classical repertoire. But what makes my teaching unique or those elements drawn from my background beyond music. Prior to attending The Juilliard School, from which I graduated with a Masters Degree (M.M.) in Piano Performance, I graduated from Brown University with a Bachelors Degree (B.A.) in History and Russian Language & Literature. Over the course of my career as a performer and teacher, my first-rate education has set me apart from other pianists, particularly as it relates to my work researching, playing, recording, and writing about music connected to African American culture. About John
I believe that music is for everybody, not just professionals. My many years of teaching beginners, teenagers, and adults of all levels, beginner, intermediate, and advanced, has shown me that, with practice and time, virtually everyone can attain a high level at the keyboard and play the piano and the incredible music written for it from the inside, not just from the outside looking in. If this challenge sounds like fun, I would be happy to help you (or your child) on that musical journey.

I think every kid learns differently, and creating a lifetime passion for music is the most important part of beginner lessons!

I recently graduated from the Frost School of Music in Miami, where I got my degree in Songwriting and Music Entrepreneurship. My daughter took lessons with Galyna for five years. At the age of seven she was true beginner - no experience with any musical instruments. Sophia really enjoyed her lessons! She ended up playing in a band in middle school and I attribute her success to Galyna's lessons. Galyna is professional, friendly and flexible. I would highly recommend her as a music teacher.

Galyna is an excellent teacher: very patient, fun and supportive. My son takes piano classes with her and I can see progress each class. I am very happy to recommend her!

I started to learn piano at my middle age. As an adult student, to have a wonderful teacher is very important. Galyna is such a nice teacher. I really enjoyed taking lessons from her for 5 years. She showed me how to play note by note, measure by measure. She also explained the feeling of the music and it made my piano playing musical. Because of Galyna’s teaching, my skills improved a lot, I also enjoy the beautiful music more and more.
