About Danielle
I have been taking the world by surprise since the age of 4. I began studying at Queens College at 6 years old and was a recital pianist by the age of 12. I was a consumer of music, from the Music Theory lessons on Saturdays, piano lessons on Thursdays and voice lessons on Saturday afternoons, my life was filled with music.

Tamar is a wonderful, dynamic and enthousiastic teacher and my 12 year old daughter had a great time with her.
Tamar knows when to slow down if her student is tired, but is also demanding so as to be sure that progress are made.
It was a pleasure seeing how fast my daughter improved her English and we both appreciated meeting Tamar, who is a great person :)

As a journalist, I have enjoyed writing about dance and film, as well as writing proposals, and film festival programs, radio scripts, and interviews.

About Deirdre
Languages have always fascinated me. Traveling a lot as a child, I studied French, German, and then Twi when I had a semester studying dance & music in Ghana. The other two constants have been piano and dance. Classical Spanish music is what originally hooked me on the piano and later the world of flamenco ensnared me. For 18 years, I produced the internationally touring Dance on Camera Festival, the oldest dance film festival in the world produced by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. I have been published in over 15 publications, now writing for two on-line magazines. As a dancer/choreographer, I perform with my partner, flamenco & classical guitarist Paul Jared Newman.

Whether it's for English as a second language or College level papers, English is nothing more than a few words with rules on how to put them together, then once you learn them, you can creatively arrange them together to even make beautiful works of literature. I will break down your problem areas and make sure you have a strong grasp on what needs improvement. I learn languages for fun, English being the second language I learned and became fluent in, so I can help non-natives more than most because I can relate to their mistakes and may even have learned their language. I also work as a Freelance Copywriter and I have two minors in creative writing and copy writing that I got when I was getting my BFA in Graphic Design, so if you want to write copy or write creatively I will be more than happy to help.

About Moataz
I am a Freelance Graphic Designer living in Stamford, Connecticut. I love learning and teaching, like a lot. I teach languages, Lettering, branding, and the basics of Graphic design as well as the adobe programs that bring it to life.

My promise to you is that I will teach you everything I know in the time I'm given and provide you with all sorts of outside resources to get you on your way to fluency and proficiency.

I'll make sure to do my absolute best to get you speaking a new language from day one, learning a Design program immediately, or teaching you how to letter with the rules they don't teach you in school. And best of all, I'll even show you how to actually make money with all of these.

I have a very unique journey into learning where I experienced many places and got a fresh and different understanding to the many su
bjects that I teach. For example my knowledge of multiple languages and travel to different countries gave me an added knowledge of linguistics that I experienced first hand and confirmed in books, so now I know how languages work, and can relate a concept from one language to another even if the languages seem completely different.

My Design work has been very general so I've done a lot of different things before I specialized in hand lettering, so I've done it all from advertisements on billboards to website design and development, to copywriting, to branding from start to finish for companies big and small.

My love for lettering and Calligraphy emerged when I started getting more Logos for client work and my exploration of type wasn't the best answer most of the time so I would letter everything myself, and the rest is history.

I am really passionate about learning and even more passionate about sharing what I've learned. I am efficient, I know what works for different people since I taught in classrooms and tutored way before I knew about Takelessons, and I'm most proud of being praised as a very genuine person. A very common compliment I get is that I sincerely want my students to do well. And it makes me really happy every time someone says it, and I hope that one day you see that and tell me the same thing.

Feel free to find out more about me and ask me anything you want, and I really look forward to one day teach you something that will get you to achieve your goals! :)

Just so there are no surprises, I raise my prices very slightly every 3 months, next time it will go up is on March 3rd 2017. The reason for this is because I get better and more efficient at teaching as time goes by, so that hour that you get now is much more packed with value than the same hour last year or last month.

Moataz was an amazing instructor for my 11 year old daughter. She already speaks an Arabic dialect, but I wanted her to learn standard Arabic. He is extremely patient and knows how to engage kids by tapping into their interests. He is extremely flexible and very pleasant. My daughter loved her lessons with him. I'm sure he's great with adults, too, but if you're looking for Arabic instruction for the younger crowd, Moataz is the best around!

I teach English to the Russian-speakers. I hold a degree in teaching English, and will help you to improve your grammar, listening and speaking skills and enlarge your vocabulary.

About Anna
Do you need the magic pill that will help you speak the language? The recipe is here. If you do the assignments I give you (no need to search for any extra materials), I can assure you that soon you will be able to speak and understand.

I am a highly qualified NYC-based Russian and English language teacher with a degree in linguistics/teaching and more than five years of experience. During the years of my teaching practice, I have developed several teaching methods, which I use in my classes. Together we will establish clear objectives for our lessons and will work on your grammar proficiency, listening and speaking skills, and accent neutrality.

I am a strict teacher :) Seriously. You have a goal and I am here to help you get there, whether it is to be able to negotiate with your business partners, speak to your family members or
read "War and Peace" in original. I will work hard to help you reach it, but I expect you to fulfill your part of a deal.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them here using the "Ask a question" button. If you have already decided that you need to speak Russian or English, do not postpone it for another day, month or year. Click the green button and let's do it.
I am looking forward to starting our language journey!

P.S. You can see me in action on my YouTube channel "Anna Cher: Russian from the Heart": https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3r_jGuhcb7D48Vh0pakNcA

*****
Some technical aspects:

- All materials are provided and included into the price of a lesson

- Recommended frequency of lessons: minimum of 2 times per week (duration of each lesson – 1-1.5h). Learning a language is like going to the gym: to get the muscles, you have to practice regularly.

- If you would like to have a class at a specific time and it is not available in my calendar, please send me a message. I may be able to change some things around and accommodate your request.

- I try to be flexible and modify my schedule based on your needs. But please be considerate and let me know 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel a class.

Thank you!

I've been teaching English for 15 years and my students have gone on to speak and write with greater ease and fluency. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to think like a native English speaker and as time goes on, you'll be on your way to conversing with anyone you meet. I specialize in making learning English fun and exciting. Let me show you how easy it can be. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Douglas
I combine my two decades of experience as a professional tutor and corporate writer with my own personal understanding of the learning struggles faced by students to create unique methods for every student to learn, regardless of the subject. I use creative innovations to make learning fun and enjoyable for my students. My students quickly see how much I care for their progress and success. Many have chosen to retain me as their tutor for more than a year.

I had the opportunity to work with Douglas a number of times during my tenure as a part-time instructor at SCORE Educational Center. What I noticed about him was that he related very well to the children he worked with - he was a very enthusiastic tutor of English and math! He was most generous with the "high fives" and praise, and he also knew how to get students back on track if their focus strayed. Also, I saw him work very well with the parents; he always took the time to patiently explain lesson plans and students' progress between sessions. I have known Douglas personally for many years. He was the one who encouraged me to work at SCORE Educational Center given my background in Education - I thank him for that because I enjoyed my time there very much while I was able to stay (unfortunately, I had to leave that position for a full-time job elsewhere). SCORE Educational Center is no longer in existence. Douglas currently works as an independent tutor, and given how long I've seen clients stick with him, I have no doubt that they are enjoying the same level of attention and enthusiasm he provided at SCORE. When he speaks about the progress of independent clients and how they respond to him, it is with enthusiasm and a glowing smile. If you are looking for a tutor that is intelligent, dedicated, enthusiastic, and simply great with kids and parents, then Douglas is your man.
