I am a native Italian speaker who has been teaching and tutoring for several years.
I love to teach and to guide my students on a journey that is not only about grammar, language, but also a cultural and idiomatic one.
Join me in this learning adventure of my language and country.
I am a native Italian speaker with a several years of experience in teaching Italian and English. I am a very easy-going, open-minded, professional person. I like to teach because it gives me the opportunity to meet new students, share my knowledge as well as my culture and experience.
I started tutoring back when I was attending the university in Verona, Italy. I was tutoring English, Math and some other subjects. Later on, I continued teaching English while I was working in other fields. In 2009 I moved to Los Angeles. For a couple of years, I taught ESL in a college, and in the meantime I tutored Italian to private students. Since 2009 I have been tutoring students both on the English and Italian subjects.
I really believe that in teaching, a language a primary focus should be on life skills. Not being an English native-speaker,
I learned how important it is to be able to express basic needs and to perform primary activities. However, it is important to consider other points like grammar, reading, writing. I also think that no matter what a teacher should always take into account the needs of the students and subsequently I plan my classes reflecting on the student's demands.
As to the different approaches and materials that I use, I suppose that it is important to change them frequently in order to keep the classes more interesting. Of course, there are some exceptions. For instance, in the past I taught for a while TOEFL and for that type of classes I used more traditionalist and academic methods and materials.

One of my greatest passion is to cook. I was extremely lucky to be taught and introduced to the art of cooking by my grandmother. She was born at the beginning of the previous century and she lived in different cities so she got accustomed to different traditions and shared them with me. I love to cook for smaller groups, using traditional Italian ingredients to prepare simple, but exquisite dishes that belong to the tradition of my native country. If you want to experience some real Italian food, you are definitely in the right hands. Just sit back, relax sip a glass of Italian wine while I cook for you and I share my art.
I was born and raise in Italy, moved to the US few years ago. I have been an Italian teacher for many years. I can teach you from the basic to an advanced level
I was born and raised in Italy. When I moved to the States in 2005, I barely spoke English. That's why I decided to start teaching Italian. I know how difficult it is to go to a foreign country and not be able to buy something as simple as bread.
I will send you links, we will read together, watch videos, talk to each other. No need to buy any book with me, I will send you everything.
Are you ready to learn? Because I am happy to teach you.
Next week, I am leaving for Italy for three weeks. Although I am still not fluent in Italian, my lessons from Simona have greatly improved both my competence and my confidence in using the language. Simona is a wonderful teacher, with wonderful tact as well as a thorough knowledge of English as well as Italian.
I strongly recommend her to anyone near the early intermediate level of Italian.

Simona did a great job with my first lesson. She got me speaking Italian right away, and that is very helpful. The 45-minute lesson was fun and also challenging. I recommend her highly,
Pasta. Pizza. Spaghetti. As Americans, we're pretty familiar with Italian food. But do any of us know the language? Do you know the difference between when you should say "bravo" or "brava" in a concert? Whether you need help for an exam, or are about to study abroad, I'll help you learn Italian and improve your pronunciation so that you're ready to go!
Nicole is available to teach lessons for students of all levels. Beginning her singing career when she was 7, she most recently sang at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, was a winner of the international CS Competition in musical theatre, and is a Chicago F.A.M.E. finalist for Jazz and popular music. Combined with her training and professional experience, Nicole teaches singers to switch gracefully between multiple styles. She practices what she preaches: one night she might be singing Beyoncé, and the next morning she might be singing Handel's Messiah!
Nicole has been a young artist for Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, Metropolitan International Music Festival, and for Tiroler Opern Programm, under international instructors, including Elizabeth Bachman (from the Metropolitan Opera), Kim Josephson (Metropolitan Opera), Sharon Cheng (Caramoor),
Michael Fennely (Carnegie Hall), Wei-En Hsu (Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra), and Candace Evans (Santa Fe Opera). Nicole earned her Associates in Theatre from Brigham Young University ('12) and went on to acquire her BM in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University ('14). Nicole obtained additional training from Boston University, Elon University, and the University of Alaska Anchorage.
I have been a teacher for more than 20 years, teaching various subjects to students of all ages. I studied Italian first in high school; then throughout my college years. I've become proficient in it and I now tutor students in NYC public schools (primarily high school) that struggle with the language. I am patient, thorough and I try to make it fun and interesting for the students who often come to me quite frustrated initially.
Hi, I'm Anne-Marie and I love to teach! I have been teaching for over 25 years and whether the subject is English, Music, College Prep or Italian, I love helping students reach their goals. I work hard to leave my students enlightened, encouraged and empowered. I have high standards and I really like to challenge students to achieve their full potential, but I also try to make the process interesting, engaging and fun. I'm patient, easygoing and I enjoy working with students of all ages and backgrounds. I always strive to get to know my students (and their needs) very well. Then I customize lessons according to need, aptitude and goals. One of the best parts of teaching for me is meeting and connecting with new people, and making a difference in their lives, so I really look forward to meeting and working with you!
As a native Italian who has lived in several Italian cities including Rome for over 30 years, I have a comprehensive understanding of the Italian language and culture. Along with my knowledge and experience as a native Italian speaker, I also have over 20 years of activity as an educator, which allows me to tailor to the needs of my students. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping my students along their path of learning the Italian language.
Bassist and composer Andrea performs extensively within the improvised music scene, across a broad spectrum of genres. His instrumental tone, sensitivity and imagination, and melodic approach to a supposedly clumsy instrument brought him to perform and record with many established musicians. Based in New York City, his work as an instrumentalist and composer can be regularly heard at the top jazz clubs in the city and around the globe.
As a current faculty member of the New York Jazz Workshop, Andrea is a dedicated educator. He has taught master classes at the National Institute of Music and the National University of Costa Rica, at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey and at the Olav Duun Videregående Skole in Namsos, Norway. He also served as an adjunct professor at New York University, where he graduated in 2011 with a Master
of Music Degree in Performance with a Concentration in Jazz as a Fulbright scholarship recipient.
I am truly happy to have chosen Andrea as my teacher. Not only he has an intelligent approach on how to introduce and teach the Italian language, he is also very polite, friendly and accommodating. It’s a real pleasure to learn from him!

I had my first English lesson with Andrea and it was very useful for me. I think that he pointed on my problem. He's a keen observer.

Andrea is the best. He's personable, prompt, flexible yet clear, a pleasure to work with. He has given weekly Italian lessons to me and my wife in our home. We can't recommend him highly enough.
I feel that learning in general and learning a foreign language in particular is about repetition and I ask my students to repeat everything I teach over and over again until they know it by heart. I keep my lessons simple to avoid overwhelming the students and to allow time for them to repeat what they learned earlier. I teach the words that form part of the so called core vocabulary; words that are chosen according to frequency and range (in the sense that they “occur across a wide variety of texts”) It is often said that the first 2000 most frequent words cover approximately 90% of the vocabulary used by native-speakers in daily conversations. This means that for a student they represent the basic resource to be able to communicate.
I am Italian. I moved to Canada first and the US next in my thirties. I love teaching. I own a retail training and consulting company. I have taught Italian on and off over the years and have always loved doing it. I am very passionate about the topics I teach and have a clear understanding of the complexities of learning and most importantly remembering things that are new to us. Hence, my obsession with repetition and never move to the next lesson until prior ones are fully mastered. I use multiple tricks to make a lesson engaging, different and fun to attend.
My hourly fee accounts for the fact that I am available to give in person lessons (more effective than online), can accommodate a student's busy schedule and my hourly rate can be for one or more students at a time. So, if you have family of friends who can come with you which
would allow you to share in the cost, my fee does not change and neither does the quality of my lessons.
Stefania was a great teacher, full of energy and encouragement. She customized the lesson plan for our needs (traveling to Italy, and wanting a crash course in conversational Italian). She made the learning fun, and even made the grammar piece (the hardest part of Italian) go quick! I feel motivated to study for our next lesson, and look forward to it.

Great first lesson! We're building a house from the foundation up!
I'm an Italian teacher in my 30's. I teached Italian in Italy (Milan) at primary school, thus I know very well what could be the troubles for the beginners and how to fix it as quick as students can. In addition, I'm a graduated in Economics and Management (M. Sc.).

The learning process is very different from one person to the other and this applies to languages, indeed. However, no matter what your pace is and what your goals are in a subject, my goal will always be making sure that you are learning something new every time, and of course, that you reach your goals in the process. Your process is personal and my job is to take the best from you.
Respect singing, I believe every person has a unique instrument, and no matter how easier or harder it could be for some people, anyone can develop his/her own instrument to the fullest!
I look forward to meet you and reach your singing and langu
"I must be honest by saying that I am not a good student when it comes to learning a language. So I must congratulate Massimo on his patience with me as a
slow learner. Despite my desire to learn Italian, desire is not enough. Massimo made things easier for me and much more interesting by combining my interests with the lessons for the day. For example, Massimo created lessons around my interest in Italian Serie A futbol and my interest in Italian history. We studied the many regions and some current events while learning basic Italian. Massimo also has a good sense of humor and easy going with his students. I would easily recommend Massimo to anyone who is seeking a tutor to learn Italian. Prepare to have fun while learning!"
"My girls (8 and 11 years old) really enjoyed their lessons with Simona. She was able to structure the lessons to meet their individual needs and interest
s. One of my favorite moments was coming home from work to see yellow post it notes on many household appliances and furniture as she had the girls go label these items in Italian as a fun little "quiz". Simona was the perfect solution to introducing my girls to the language of their relatives. We'll be back once our schedule allows."
"This week's lesson was great! Since my family's trip to Italy is rapidly approaching, Isabela had lots of tips and recommendations for me, that I am sure
will prove very useful. After all of the work we have done in the last few months, Isabela is really helping me to be more inventive with my new vocabulary, in preparation for my up coming trip. I am feeling better and better about my ability to communicate with the locals. I can't wait for next week's lesson."
"Simona è stata paziente e più interessata a ciò che voglio dalle nostre lezioni."
"Mirella took time to assess my needs and abilities, and created a lesson with those in mind. Patient, willing to answer all questions, and flexible."
"Excellent! A natural teacher, gifted in her ability to establish rapport and move the learning process enjoyably forward."
"1st lesson and she was great! Great energy and starting with basics just like we needed. My boys and I are pumped to keep going and improve before our t
rip to Italy!! Looking forward to our weekly sessions!!"
"Cecilia is a fantastic Italian teacher. She is easy to talk to, patient with her students and is fabulous at really making sure her students GET the langu
age (proper pronunciation included) instead of just teaching from a text book. We love Cecilia!"
