Larry is a native of Taiwan, and speaks English & Mandarin fluently. He teaches Mandarin Chinese in any of the boroughs of New York City, online, or at his home location. He prepares each lesson and holds students accountable for practicing before each lesson. The Better Chinese method is one method that he uses for young beginners, and he also has an online curriculum for students of any age to practice.
Larry started tutoring Mandarin Chinese while he was still a student at the BYU-Idaho in 2007 and has continued teaching after moving to NYC.
I like to start with teaching songs and reading books beginning with basic children’s’ books and continuing with more difficult reading material including newspapers and articles... Je suis prête à vous aider et je vous encourage à commencer tout de suite :) Bonne chance
Indulge yourself by learning languages. It opens your prospect to a new different world with a different culture, you feel like you gain a new person and a new experience while networking with new people around you. I personally admire languages and would like to share this passion with you. I invite you to start expanding your horizon by choosing a new language. I came recently to U.S. and I was tutoring languages "Arabic, French and English" back in my country. I hope to build a good reputation here too with my students. I'm so patient toward kids, and I like to innovate methods to engage early learners (songs, stories, games...). My only goal is to reach your needs and desire to learn then proceed from there in a fun immersion method.

Hi, there! My name is Elsa and I can't wait to meet you! I was born and raised in France and I went to Université of Avignon in France and earned a Master's degree in Teaching French as a Foreign or Second Language in 2016. I've been teaching private lessons since 2014 and have loved helping my students learning French and English. I'm a dynamic and enthusiastic person and my teaching style is personalized to my students needs. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
Students can expect to develop a strong base of grammar and diction. Having lived, studied, and worked in Paris for 3 years, I can offer insight into the culture of the French language.
I am an orchestral conducting Masters graduate from Mannes College of Music who has been playing piano since the age of 4. I have been teaching beginner and intermediate piano for the past 5 years to students ranging from ages 7 - 65. I teach all types of styles ranging from classical to jazz to pop with everything in-between.
My students can expect to develop a strong and reliable technique while being able to express their musical ideas with a clear and dynamic level of sophistication. It's the stories and emotions that draw people to music, so I do my best to base my teachings around that concept.
that my classes are different, are based on each student needs and requirements
I love teaching, but I hate boring classes, so I always try to do different things to get the goal, which is learning. I also try to keep focus in what the student wants with class, be able to communicate, or improve grammar, writting, everyone is different, learn different and also want different things.
I'm a Certified Interpreter in French (along with Romanian, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese) by the Defense Language Institute Monterrey, California. Since middle school I loved foreign languages which proved to be very rewarding starting with high school when traveling around the world with shooting competitions. Visiting France and other French speaking countries on three continents allowed me the affinity of learning different accents and slangs of the same language.
Learning any foreign language opens doors in life whether on personal or professional level, and I sincerely believe that anybody can learn anything disregarding their age; in fact, I have friends who late in life decided to learn foreign languages or various skills that they always wanted to learn, so, I encourage you to do the same.
Group students are welcome at a special rate.
Before reading about me, I'd like to share up front the honor that my newest student, R., has brought to me by choosing to learn Romanian. Nothing special so far except that he is 100 years old!!!! Yes, you read that correctly: a century old. He is the outmost inspiring person in my life by teaching me that age is just a number and that learning can happen any day if we choose so. R is a medical doctor, a psychologist, a chemist and biologist. Words can't even define how great of a man he is and how grateful I am to learn from him, too. For instance, about a famous language called "esperanto", a language created in the late 19th century.
I'm an enthusiastic learner even after 19 years of formal education (two Masters, one Bachelor) earned on two continents continued by US military education in various forms, and formally tested studen
t who needed to document skills that were not formally captured on paper (like the foreign languages I know).
I love interacting with people and pass on my knowledge from five visited continents, instill love for learning and continuous curiosity for any subject out there. Nothing is impossible when you set your mind to it. Failing once doesn't mean that you'll never win (proof in my athletic years and life ever since); determination, hard work, self-motivation and a good supporting system can bring to reality even the most insignificant dreams that we believe may not come true, and especially those in which we passionately trust.
I believe in breaking down a goal into objectives, assigning tasks to each one of them, and then sticking to achieve them.
I'm a Certified Instructor with the Department of Homeland Security. My hobbies include practicing foreign languages (and proper grammar rules which highly reflect on one's education) by speaking them, learning about cultures and slangs, etymology, watching foreign movies, traveling internationally, taking photos, reading (a lot), carefully planning with room for error and impulsive decisions (to take the boredom out of things), meeting with life long friends, drawing, painting, and spending time outdoors for inspiration and health.
I'm elated at the opportunity of brainstorming with you and giving you tools to be an independent learner.

"I highly recommend Isabelle as an expert in teaching French. She has great fluency in both French and English. Isabelle is from France and she regularly
visits family there. Here in the United States, she and her husband have raised a family while she worked as an executive for an international company. These skills come forth beautifully in her style of teaching. For me, after one month of French lessons with Isabelle, I am much more comfortable with daily conversation, pronunciation, and verb conjugation. I enjoy our rapport and look forward to deepening my conversation skills with her."
"Isabelle is teaching French to my 11 year old daughter and our experience has been excellent. My daughter was previously taking group lessons somewhere el
se and was not making as much progress as we had hoped. Working with Isabelle our daughter feels a lot more motivated to learn the language. Isabelle has also always been very professional, punctual and friendly."
"Corinne is organized timely & I think I will advance well with her."
"Isabelle is a fabulous teacher. Anyone would be lucky to have her!"
"Good lessons. Too many computer glitches."
"Tania is a very easy going teacher. This helps the student remain relaxed during those difficult parts of the lesson. When it gets challenging for the stu
dent, it is important that no judgement be conveyed by the instructor. Only praise. I really appreciate this because learning a new language can be trying. Enjoying my progress so far. Thanks Tania!"
