I have few lessons with Keith so far. Keith is a very patient and flexible teacher. He customizes lesson plan accordingly to my level and needs. I have learned a lot in short amount of time. Thank you!

He is the best! It’s been 3 weeks and I’m singing everywhere I go!

Keith is very knowledgeable, patient and methodical. By letting me play a few notes and asking a few questions, he already knew where I should start and had the whole study plan figured out. His lessons are very productive but not in an overwhelming way. After two classes, I actually already feel I've improved significantly. I'm getting more and more comfortable playing to musical notes, which I tried to teach myself several times but all failed. I finally feel I'm on the right track!

Just like many aspiring musicians, I know what it's like to struggle to improve, only to be told "just keep at it" or "practice your scales." Wondering HOW the players I see manage to access all the notes so quickly and make it look so easy. Their only explanation being "it's like this- *rips gnarly solo* Most teachers will give their students boring assignments and tell them that one day, you can move on to something else... NOT ME. I will provide you with the tools you need to learn. For example every chord on guitar, in one easily digestible PDF?!! The ability to download any video, slow it down, and learn it note by note using special software.

I know that these tools work because I taught myself how to play guitar! On my journey I took the time to create my own practice materials which simplify the guitar to it's most essential elements. I will share the method with you and teach you how to use it. Through my lessons, I will pass on the most critical, simplified versions of ...

The technique I teach is applicable to classical, acoustic and electric guitar. It is based on finding the most relaxed position for the entire body, and ultimately the hands and fingers. It's the most fun way to play!

About Stephen

I have been playing music on the violin since the age of 7, composing since I was 14, and playing and performing on the guitar since I was 18. I've written a lot of music, and this past spring had works performed in Virginia and two in Manhattan. I have taught music for over 15 years, in college

I have been a student of Tim’s for a little over a year now. I started playing guitar at age 52 and when I started with Tim I was very close to giving up or settling on just being able to strum a few chords. I have had many hand injuries in the past that have resulted in arthritis and lack of dexterity in my wrists and some of my fingers and I started doubting I would ever be able to progress in my ability to play. From the very first lesson where I told Tim about my hand issues and my frustrations, he told me he was sure we could work around any physical limitations I had, and he was right. Tim has been able to work with me on alternative ways to play the chords I was having trouble with and has shown me that these alternate techniques along with the bit of music theory he sprinkles into lessons can really expand my ability to play.

In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.

Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him.
Sam
Tim is an excellent guitar teacher and an overall great guy. He provided me with structure and support, enabling me to make the most out of my practice and ultimately progress as a player. His warm personality and contagious enthusiasm for music kept me looking forward to our time together each week. He was also very flexible when it came to scheduling to accommodate for my dynamic schedule.
Brad
Tim is an excellent teacher, providing excellent advice, practice techniques, and insights. He makes learning and improving easy and enjoyable.

I started playing as a performing and recording singer/songwriter from age 16, when I heard the Beatles and Bob Dylan and all the classics from the 60s/70s. Moving from Wisconsin in the 80s to the San Francisco Bay Area, i was in a number of bands performing covers and originals and teaching beginners. I can teach easy chords and chord progressions to fit anyone's needs. Also I'm very strong in teaching music theory and developing an ear for learning just about any song you would want.

Scott is a *fantastic* teacher! My 10 year-old daughter has been taking lessons with him for a year now and her progress has been amazing. "I took lessons with Mr. Dustin Newbold for 4 years, starting my Freshman year in high school. I had him all four years during high school and in that time I learned more than any other teacher could possibly teach. I learned how to read Treble and Bass music, how to play Acoustic, Electric, and Bass guitar, and even a little drums in his marching band. He also taught me the history of how music really came to be. He is very knowledgeable in music and I wouldn't choose any other teacher. His style of teaching is by far the best, he will interact 100% with his students and listen to what they want to learn and he will make sure they learn what they want. I went in wanting to know more about classic rock, blues, and more current rock, and he did just that. He would make sure I understood everything I wanted to know before we moved on, he taught me some of the history that went behind the music I wanted to learn, and he helped me explore more in those areas of music. I also took his music appreciation class and music theory classes and he didn't leave a single detail out. Highly recommend him to any student because he can teach everything there is to learn and he is very patient. Very proud of what I have accomplished as one of his students!"
