I offer my students 3 recitals a year in some very nice halls around New York, where they would get a chance to perform their music in front of an audience of friends and family.
Performing is a great way to see as a student what you do well and what you can improve in. Each performance gains a level of experience that can not be gain by just playing for yourself. Through this experience you will learn what it takes to get better as a musician.

A friend of mine said she had taken lessons from a Don DeBold for about 5 years before going off to college and highly recommended him.
I've now been taking lessons from Don for almost 2 years and having a blast ! I've learned how to play along with most of my favorite songs (mainly Blues and Rock) and now I'm learning to play Solo Guitar that needs no accompaniment !
Unlike my first teacher, during many lessons Don barely plays or even has his Strat on his lap because he's busy concentrating on what I'm doing !
He's a stickler yet lots of fun at the same time> I super recommend him as a Guitar and Music Teacher !!! Aneiah J.

For the first 10 years I wrote songs, I was almost always the youngest person in the room. Then, I found myself working for many years with artists and writers of my own age group. Now, as time has marched on, I am most often the "old guy" at the party, as we work on music for TV shows. I think this gives me a unique perspective. I have a 40 year history as a professional songwriter, and I still make music every day. The incredible opportunities and relationships that I have had with amazing artists of all sorts remain a source of inspiration. As a writer, producer/engineer, and bass player, I have helped create hit songs over 4 decades. I have been so fortunate to work with a wide variety of artists, such as Emmylou Harris, Marcy Playground, Fuel, Dolly Parton, Jeffrey Gaines, Sunshine, the Badlees, and many more. As a Voting Member of the Grammy Academy, I have advocated for young and creatively new artists.
I have been given two ASCAP PLUS Awards for mentoring and co-creating ...
