Love to teach beginners and intermediate students.
I teach all uke students how to read, theory, songs and how to understand playing the instrument solo or in a group setting.
Uke is capable of doing anything, all one has to do is apply oneself and music can come flowing out of the instrument.

"Everyone should have and play a Uke. It's so simple to carry with you and it is one instrument you can't play and not laugh! It's so sweet and also very old--some are made of wood--some are made of armadillo's. I love them. The more the merrier. Everyone I know who is into the Uke is crackers. So get yourself a few and enjoy yourself."--George Harrison

About Matthew

I have been playing professionally for over 30 years and have taught for over 10. I am proficient on keyboards, guitar, bass, ukelele, as well as lead and harmony vocals and songwriting. My focus is on developing your musical intuition through ear training, and accessing the music within. I have a

I had a one off single lesson with Matthew, I was only in New York for a couple days and was lucky enough to get a sing writing session with him. He gave some great insight and valid techniques towards song writing. He was easy going and very friendly. Would certainly recommend.
Sami
Matt is an awesome instructor. Unlike a traditional guitar teacher, Matt understands what his students want to play, making lessons much more interesting and making practicing much easier. I've had a few lessons with Matt and have learned more in those lessons that I could have ever learned by myself. Highly recommend.
Diana
Just had my first piano lesson with Matthew today. He is a truly great artist and instructor who will teach you not just about the playing technique but about the music theory/history behind it. Would definitely recommend!

Ukulele is the perfect instrument for young students learning their first instrument. It's incredibly easy to get off the ground and start making music right away. For that reason, it's one of my favorite instruments to teach, and it's the instrument I recommend to first-time music students, even if they eventually want to switch to other instruments.

Fantastic, patient and kind ukelele instructor. I recommend Ben without reservation.
Thanks Ben!

Ben has been instructing my 2 kids (now aged 11 and 9) in-home for at least 5 years. We started off with piano for the first few years but then switched to a combination of piano and acoustic guitar (half a session dedicated to each instrument).

He is patient, kind, and highly knowledgeable. I clearly see the upward trajectory in my kids' musical capabilities. One of my kids can be difficult to deal with, especially when he is tired, but Ben would mold his approach to the lesson on the spot to keep my kid engaged (e.g., instead of continuing the lesson on the actual piano, he'd switch to a fun music-oriented game).

I have been teaching a variety of fretted stringed instruments, for over 25 years. Ukulele is a fun and easy instrument for beginners of any age to learn! I teach chords, strumming, finger-picking, and melody lines, and know lots of songs that are particularly good for the ukulele. Students may choose to learn to read music, or to read tablature, or just play by rote and from lesson videos. All of my lessons are customized to match each individual student's interests and preferred learning styles. (With very young children, I will have the child learn to play and sing popular children's songs.)

About Linda

I have been teaching music (guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, recorder, music theory, and classes for toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, and adults) for over 20 years. I am also a band/show director at the School of Rock! In addition to teaching music, I also tut

A great instrument to play! And LOTS of fun. You can be up and playing basic ukulele in a very short time, and as you progress, we will add all the rhythmic strums that make the ukulele come alive. The ukulele can cover almost every style of music there is...from traditional Hawaiian music to rock!... and everything in between. Let me show you how to express your inner musician with the ukulele. You will have a blast!

I was raised in the New York / New England area, and played in many bands in the 70's and 80's, most notably the band AVALON. I moved to Florida in the late 8

Today was my 3rd lesson with Steve. It's honestly been amazing! He's super understanding and is very prepared. He is so dedicated to his students being successful that he even emails me audio files of him playing guitar over a song I'm learning so I have someone to practice with. If you want an amazing banjo teach look no further.

"Francesca is absolutely fantastic. I did a LOT of research when I was selecting a teacher. The teacher had to be multi-faceted (I wanted to explore singing, performing, and learning guitar/ukulele). The teacher had to have positive energy: there's nothing worse than a boring teacher. They had to be personable, communicate well and be NICE, but still be demanding when needed (to keep us challenged and excited and *learning*!). And finally, they had to have No Big Ego -- that is crucial to me, and very hard to find when you find someone that is very good at what they do.

Well, Francesca is ALL of those positive qualities. She knows her stuff, communicates very efficiently (and nicely!). She has a huge range of skills and talents -- from very professional skills/talents while still being able to do/show very down-to-earth personal performances (check out her videos of her performances -- you can see she is very skilled but also very personable -- a rare combination).

Another HUGE quality is her ability with kids. While I am an adult, it was very telling about what kind of *teacher* Francesca is by seeing her be successful with Kids. When I would arrive a bit early for my lessons, often she was just finishing up the last few minutes with a child. She is VERY good with children -- and that is a skill in itself. It's one thing to communicate well with adults; a whole other talent to be "fun" and inspirational to kids! And Francesca does that extremely well. The children learn and have fun doing it -- you can tell by the interactions that the kids are excited and are learning and doing well... of course that equals Fun (and keeps them motivated to learn more). If you have children that want to learn any musical instrument, I would highly recommend Francesca.

All in all, I am very happy I found her. I have learned SO much in just my first several lessons that I am very pleased with the VALUE of her teaching -- some teachers may be cheaper in cost, but if it takes 5 times longer to learn from a semi-good teacher, you end up spending more and getting less, and taking more time. The old saying applies here: "You get what you pay for."

If there were 6 stars available, Francesca would get that rating from me."
