Hello there, future string players and welcome to my profile!!
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in Miami, FL. I started my musical career at the age of 8, singing in chorus, playing the recorder, and shortly afterwards moving to the guitar, and the violin.
When I was 15, I was nominated for a James L. Knight Award in Music, and I performed as a violin soloist with the Miami Beach Symphony Orchestra, and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony playing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major. One of my most memorable experiences when I was a kid! In high school, I formed my own string quartet and we would perform all over the South Florida community especially at hospitals and for the elderly. At 16 years old, I was also given an internship with the New World Symphony, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas, for about 2
years. During this time, I was able to take lessons from master violinists such as Marc Thayer and Glen Cherry. During this time, I was given the opportunity to perform with the New World Symphony at 17 years old for pops concert conducted and performed by Chuck Mangione in El Doral, FL.
I later on accepted a scholarship for violin performance at the University of Miami for my Bachelor of Music, and earned my Master of Music from Florida State University. I also taught string orchestras for 10 years at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor K-8 Center, South Florida Youth Symphony as conductor (and now composer!), and conductor of the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. I was appointed Assistant Conductor of the Alhambra Orchestra for two seasons under the guidance of my high school orchestra teacher, Mr. Reginald Nicholson (1947-2011). It was here where I was able to work on my compositions, orchestrations, and conduct a fine group of musicians.
I now live in sunny Los Angeles, in the Sherman Oaks area, and I'm loving the new change. I am eager to share my knowledge with new students on various subjects such as learning a string instrument to learning a different language. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and your goals for learning! ____________________________________________________
LESSON DETAILS I have been teaching music as an adult, certified teacher since I was in college, but have done teaching as early as 15 years old.
I will help you create a fantastic technical base so you will be able to play with ease as your skill level develops, all while keeping the lessons fun and engaging.
MUSIC STUDIO Piano, Violin, Guitar, Music Stand, General Teaching Aids, Recording Equipment.
TRAVEL EQUIPMENT I can provide a music stand and basic materials but the student is expected to have their own instruments and to buy the music I recommend. I can recommend various vendors/shops where you can buy the ideal instrument for your lessons.
EXPERTISE I am classically-trained musician that also specializes in Tango performance, Latin/Jazz, Rock, and a variety of other styles. I believe that training in the classical aesthetic will create a firm, solid foundation to crossover into other areas listed above. With a good dose of technical exercises, scales, and a variety of repertoire, my students always turn out well-rounded, ready to tackle almost any kind of music they wish to learn.
Thank you for stopping by and let me know what you would like to learn!

The first thing I do when I meet a student is to interview the student and find out why they want to learn how to play the guitar and what are some of their goals. Then I find out what style of music they would like to learn. I have the student come up with ten songs they would like to learn. I take this information and structure future guitar lessons around the essential elements of these songs. I design each lesson to teach the specific skills required to learn those songs. I create an organized binder guitar workbook and having a teaching degree I create all of the lessons to meet each students individual needs that include lessons on theory, technique, chords, rhythm, scales, arpeggios, songs, song form, and exercises etc. I use a color coded method to teach scales, chords and theory that I created that help students not only understand scales but also they are able to see visually where chords come from. I break down each song into easy digestible parts so students can learn a ...
Hi my name is David and I love and enjoy teaching guitar lessons to students of all ages and I come to your home for lessons. My goal in life is to enrich people's lives with music. I create all of the guitar lessons to meet each students individual needs that include lessons on theory, technique, rhythm, chords, scales, riffs, arpeggio's, songs, and exercises etc. I break down songs into easy digestible parts so students can learn a song in a logical and most manageable way. I use a color coded method to teach that I created that help students not only learn and understand scales and chords but also they are able to see visually how scales and chords are created. I currently teach private guitar lessons and have worked for 12 years in our local schools as a teacher with students K through 12. For 2 years, from 2012 to 2014 I taught an after-school enrichment guitar and songwriting class. I created the curriculum and music workbook specifically for 6 and 7-year old children whom I taught at Pequenakonck Elementary School in North Salem, NY. In College I won an award for the most Improved Studio Composition Student at Purchase College. I incorporate lessons that I have learned in the classroom as a teacher to help my guitar students learn. I feel the most important thing for my students to learn about music is to have a lot of fun.
I only have high accolades for David. I've learned more from David in the mere 5 lessons then I learned in a years worth of lessons in the past. His method of teaching is perfect with the right amount of homework. He customizes the lesson for the type of music I ultimately want to play with a good balance of theory and practical lessons to get me there. Bravo!!!

My Name is Jordan,I love teaching! I teach virtually all genres of music on the guitar be it electric or acoustic.I teach my students based on there needs and goals and take them in the direction they want to go,I can help you to reach an advanced level efficiently and can show you how to minimalize the frustration a lot of students experience when practicing.I'm very patient and no matter how much talent you think you do or don't have,I know that with the right approach you can reach your goals on the guitar :)
Hello,Im Jordan. I have experience as a performer and as a teacher,i have been a full time musician for my entire adult life.Ive been on tour all over the country,Ive taught students from age 3-83.This experience allows me to take my students in whatever direction they want to go. Some of my past students have been concerned that they may not be talented enough to reach there goals on the instrument and Im happy to say a lot of them were shocked at what they are capable of and have even exceeded their goals at times.
I teach Guitar,Bass, and Piano,I can guide you with a practical method that allows you to grow progressively based on your natural skill set, needs, and interest
I teach Virtually all genres of music, not just how to play the music, but the fundamentals that go along with it,so that you can always continue to improve,so wh
I have two sons that have been taking lessons with Jordan for 10 months. He is teaching both my sons, one the guitar and the other piano. I have used one previous instructor from takelessons.com for piano lessons and he was good. However, Jordan does not constantly reschedule lessons and I can see more progress in how fast my son is learning and his enthusiasm to learn. I am happy I switched my son who plays the piano to Jordan, whom was already teaching my other son guitar.
Jordan, is good at assessing a student’s abilities and interests and adjusting his lessons accordingly
He makes the lessons fun and challenging.
He has gone out of his way to learn about my sons and their interests, so when they were introduced to guitar and piano, they were able to learn and play music that they already enjoyed listening to
He is a gifted musician but also highly skilled at teaching. He works well with families and has a flexible schedule.
He is fair but firm with students
The highlight for me was hearing my sons have a jam session together
Jordan has a wonderful ability to relate to people. He has excellent skill and enthusiasm, making my sons WANT to learn.
I would highly recommend him as a teacher.

Jordan is amazing, he can just learn a song by ear the first time he hears it, I’ve been working with him for a little over a year and I never thought I’d be able to do that, but my ear has really started to develop. He always offers positive critique, never negative and always patient!!

Jordan is a good teacher. Talented. Patient. Smart.
My daughter responded well to him.
My goal is to inspire students to create and share music that reflects their unique interests and voice, while providing a strong foundation of the fundamentals of music. We will work on theory, sight-reading, ear training, and whatever interests YOU to help you reach your goals.
Hi! My name is Rachael, and I've been teaching piano, drums, guitar, and ukulele throughout San Diego County since 2016. I earned my Bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston where I was a piano major with a focus on contemporary writing and production. After graduating in 2012, my work with the Chicago Symphonietta led me to Chicago where I began writing music for short films and ad agencies. In 2016, the sunny weather drew me to San Diego where I began my vision for Foster Music - private music instruction that inspires students to create and share music that reflects their unique interests and voice, while providing a strong foundation of the fundamentals of music, in a fun and supportive environment.
Looking forward to meeting you & making some music!
During our lessons, you will learn the fundamentals of guitar playing (open chords, basic chord progressions, reading music, the notes on the fretboard, etc.), as well as some of your favorite songs. Intermediate students will begin to learn music theory and more complex song structures, as well as rhythmic picking and finger-picking. Advanced students will learn the ins and outs of music composition.
Hi! My name is Keith, and I've been a music teacher for twelve years, and a BOE Certified English teacher for eightyears. I have been playing guitar and bass for 15 years, and have been playing ukelele for five. I can't wait to teach you your favorite songs, as well as help you write your own!
I also offer tutoring in English Language Arts for all grades from kindergarten to college. Whether you need help starting or finishing your essay, or need help understanding a difficult text, I'm here to help you out. I also tutor for PARCC and SAT. Have the comfort of knowing a State of NJ certified teacher is helping you out!
I've been seeing Keith for guitar lessons for several years now. Everyone says learning an instrument as an adult (I'm in my 40's) would be insurmountable, but Keith made it easy. Highly recommended.
February 19, 2018
I found Keith to be very reliable, patient, knowledge in several subjects, flexible with problem solving and understanding of children's moods and personalities. He comes with a wide array of talent and is willing to meet your child at his/her interest level and learning style. He even switched from tutoring reading to art because my child totally refused to be tutored in reading.
He came prepared and on time every time, ready to tutor in either subject because my child was difficult, uncooperative and would not stick to her scheduled sessions. Through all this Keith remained dedicated, supportive and patient. He worked with us even to the premature ending of our sessions, and even then he remained understanding and supportive of our decision to end.
If there's one tutor I'd recommend; it would be Keith. He WILL make every effort to reach your child and engage them in the learning process to attain positive growth and development, you will NOT be disappointed in any way.
I want students to excel the fastest they can on guitar. Though I know it is important to let students learn at their own pace, I will never cease to challenge them through difficult pieces or exercises. I will develop plans and keep track of progress so that students and I can stay organized and ensure the learning is fluent. I will direct lessons based on what the student wants to learn most and what genres of music they are interested in. I also change the structure of lessons based on how the student learns. The basics I want students to learn from my lessons are basic chords, fretboard knowledge and music theory, finger-picking styles, pick and strumming techniques, left-hand techniques, and most importantly I want to teach students how to listen. I will train students ears through ear training exercises and songs. I firmly believe the better the student’s ears can get, the better the musician they can be. Besides just teaching songs, I want students to understand the theory, ...
Music has been a big part of my life since I was a child singing in musical theater. My passion for music led me to pursue a music degree at California State University, Sacramento. Throughout my time there I have learned a plethora about pedagogy, theory, musicianship, music history, composing, and arranging that I can use to help my students. I started to pursue guitar seriously in high school when I fell in love with a particular genre of music: jazz. Studying the techniques and theory of jazz musicians became my goal in high school, but as the as the years went by, my love for all types of music expanded. As a result, learning other genres of music has made me a more well-rounded musician. Every day I strive to become a greater musician by expanding my repertoire, improving my technique, improving my ears, and gigging locally as much
as possible. I often get the opportunity to often play locally with various jazz groups. I am a relaxed person, but I never stop aiming for excellence. Though I don’t want to be a burden to my students, I always try to push them to challenge themselves.
I teach because I am convinced that music has power to communicate ideas and feelings that could not be explained through words. Any student wanting to be the communicator in the experience should be encouraged to learn how, and my goal is to help that student grow to their fullest potential.
William is my first guitar teacher. As daunting as it can be to learn an instrument, he created a comfortable experience for me. He's incredibly talented and his love for music truly shows (which is inspiring). I initially started with the desire to learn jazz and William opened my eyes to explore other genres that integrate with jazz. Im excited to continue to learn and grow with music. I highly recommend anyone at any level to take lessons with William.
Thank you, William!
