Maria O has been teaching piano lessons since she was in high school. There were enough children in the neighborhood who inspired her to teach piano. She took up BS degree in Music Education, and her main interest was teaching private violin and piano lessons.
Her usual clients really varies a great deal. Each student, young or old, who comes from different backgrounds, stories, and history. They are all different individuals. She tries to take each and every student as an individual and teach them in ways that best suits their personality.

Second-Prize winner of the 2017 New York International Artists Association Piano Competition, Hong Kong native Brian Lam was hailed by Sergei Babayan as “a very fine young pianist whose talents cannot be taught by others”. He won the First Prize at the 2014 Brooklyn College Concerto Competition, which led to a performance of Chopin’s e minor concerto with the school’s symphony under the baton of George Rothman, music director of the Riverside Symphony in New York. Two years later, in 2016, he won the First Prize at the American Proteges International Concerto Competition. Other achievements include a Gold Medal at the Young Classical Virtuoso International Piano Competition. Brian was also a finalist at the First VIVO-S International Music Competition in 2017.
Brian has appeared in greatly-acclaimed music festivals such as
the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in 2011 (full scholarship) & the Hudson PianoFest at Nyack College of Music in 2015. He has also played at Steinway Halls in London & New York, Weill Recital and Zankel Halls at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufmann Music Center and Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
Brian holds B.M. and M.M. degrees in Piano Performance (summa cum laude) from Brooklyn College. His principal mentors are Adam Kent and William Wolfram.
The reason I came to Mr. Brian: I wasn't making any progress under my previous teacher at a local music school. I'd say I absolutely have made the right decision to study with him! At first, my parents thought Mr. Brian's piano lessons are a bit expensive, but they let me try out the first few lessons. Worth the price! I have stayed with him for almost 4 years. He is so passionate with piano and he always tries to push me to my fullest potential, even when certain pieces seem impossible for me to tackle. We are working on a 45 min college audition program; I have never imagined I could make it this far (I hated piano when I was a kid).

Mr. Brian has prepped me well for performances. I have learned a lot from him. He is very passionate about music and he really taught me how to express myself through piano playing. I am a very shy person and have stage fright. My parents think I have advanced a lot under Brian's tutelage. I highly recommend him. A great friend, mentor and an amazing pianist!

He had been my piano teacher and mentor for 5+years. Equipped with marvelous knowledge and meticulousness on music and piano performance, he is capable and willing to uphold his professionalism. He is not going to move on until you have mastered certain fundamental musical ideations or techniques. Mr. Brian is not the type of teacher who only talks in theory or with instructions, but he can actually perform what he demands from students. Hence, he is doubtlessly a marvelous piano performer, as well as instructor, where I am certain students can learn a lot from his lessons.
Learn music that has stood the test of time in a relaxed environment. I will let you know what you are doing right and show you small changes that will make a HUGE difference in your performance of the classics.

Hi! My name is Rachel, and I have been teaching lessons professionally for over 10 years now. My primary instruments are voice and piano, and I also teach music theory/ear training/musicianship skills. I earned my degree in vocal performance from James Madison University, where I taught lessons to non-music majors as well as tutored general music for the student population. I also hold a masters degree in voice performance and pedagogy from the Peabody Conservatory. I would describe my teaching style as fun and relaxed, with a strong emphasis on healthy technique. I believe that all students should have a strong technical foundation, and that begins on day one. Genres I teach include classical, musical theatre, pop, and accompanying skills for pianists. I can also help with audition prep on both instruments. I look forward to meeting with
Rachel very good. She listen to my concerns, and address them. Very professional.

Rachel provides instructions that are understandable, and that you can use to improve your technical skills and make true progress. She has also change my approach to piano practising. I believe I enjoy practising more and with greater efficiency. She is very talented, also has a great personality, bubbly and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend Rachel!

Rachel is a fantastic and knowledgeable instructor. My daughter first started with piano lessons and is now taking voice lessons as well. My daughter loves going to lessons with Rachel and looks forward to it every week. My daughter has learned so much. I highly recommend Rachel.
I focus on the fundamentals (technique, sightreading, playing by ear) to prepare all my students to tackle any pieces they want, whether it's classical, pop, jazz, ragtime.
I enjoy sharing my love of music by helping others embark on their musical journeys. I am a strong supporter of using a combination of aural training and sightreading to boost musicality and finesse.
In the past 6 years, I have taught students of all ages, ranging from children to seniors. You are never ever too old to learn the piano. You may not be the next Chopin, but with practice and dedication, you will eventually be able to play the mass majority of piano repertoire.
Strong fundamentals (scales/chords/arpeggios) are important, but I also remember to make music fun and not boring by providing diverse selections of supplemental (pop/ragtime/blues) pieces.
Fun, inspiring and completely personalized to you and your goals. We'll work on your sound, your touch, and your connection to the piano. We'll discuss and develop your technique while solidifying your musical style. We'll have fun, we'll laugh, but ultimately you'll grow a lot.
This is an upbeat, encouraging, but fast-paced learning environment. You'll come away exciting about the piano, excited to practice, and feeling like you've learned a lot--all while having loads of fun!
Music is a transcendental experience that has existed since the beginning of time itself. Classical music is the study of timeless masterworks written over the past 400 years. Through our study, we gain direct insight into the great thoughts, ideas, and histories of cultures, peoples, and movements. As a teacher, I am honored to introduce each of my wonderful students to the life-long pursuit of music creation.
I'm a prize winning pianist and a music enthusiast. I started piano at age 5 and started winning competitions at age 10. I've won prizes at the local and national level. Ultimately though, I'm just passionate about all-things piano and would love to share my passion with you.
My background is in the Taubman technique, having spent 12 years working with one of Dorothy Taubman's personal students. However, whatever your technic
al background, I'm excited to help you find more freedom, power, and passion in your playing!
He is amazing. He really goes In depth and makes sure you are progressing at an appropriate pace, with technique, theory, and repertoire. He also really puts you at ease. He has gone above and beyond, even discussing my upcoming class piano lessons at school. I really can't praise him enough.

Andrew is a gifted teacher who prides himself on making the student feel comfortable, no matter their level of experience or ability. This approach has worked successfully for many of his students, allowing them to be more open and understanding of some of the many concepts introduced and practiced while learning the piano.
Andrew is also very adaptable, understanding that each student is different, responding to unique learning styles and approaches that suits them better than others. But one thing remains the same, and that is the ability to enjoy the work as well as feel clear and measurable progress. This is any student's ultimate goal, and Andrew has a proven track record of success when it comes to learning the instrument.
Andrew will work with you to establish clear goals, if you don't already possess them, and be a steady and comforting guide for you on your journey - no matter how far you intend to go.
Andrew started playing piano at the tender age of 3. His mom wanted him to spend his endless energy on something artistic so she started him on piano lessons. Very early on it was clear Andrew had a natural, unique ability to connect with the piano. He played in school bands throughout grade school and began performing around DC in high school. While Andrew also plays guitar, drums, and bass, the piano has remained his first love and primary instrument.
At seventeen, Andrew left DC and started college at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City. Andrew studied Jazz Piano but also led big bands, wrote and arranged music, produced, and engineered recordings. Shifting from Jazz to Rock in his early twenties, Andrew joined the band Ambulance LTD, playing live throughout New York City, the United States, and internat
ionally, as well as on the "LP" and "EP" recordings.
Upon returning to New York from touring, Andrew began assisting younger students at The New York Piano Academy—helping them to develop their playing skills, as well as their composing and arranging pursuits. The experience exposed his innate ability to build students’ talents through patience and encouragement, consistently taking them farther than they thought they could go. Andrew realized his passion for teaching and began working with students of all ages, from 3 year-old children to seniors. As a teacher, Andrew focuses on making learning enjoyable while teaching all types of music—pop, rock, jazz, classical, and even Broadway. Andrew tailors his lesson programs to the uniqueness of each student and teaches them not only how to play, but also how to better hear, enjoy, and love music.
Never thought l could to be able to learn a Bach invention before. Now I’m playing it. Very enthusiastic teacher.

Born in South Korea, pianist Suji Lee began to play the piano at the age of 5. She earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in piano performance from Keimyung University in South Korea, and she came to New York to study under Mr. Phillip Kawin, graduating from the Manhattan School of Music with Professional Studies. To pursue her passion for teaching, she also continued to study in Teachers College in Columbia University. Ms. Lee has won the first prize both from Keimyung University Music Competition and the Concerto Competition by Daegu Symphony Orchestra. She also received the Best Teachers Award from Korea Radio Broadcasting in New York. Ms. Lee actively appears on numerous stages as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist, and she is also a part of multiple ongoing concert projects: the Piano Chamber Music Series, the Su
nday Afternoon Concert Series in the Tenafly Library and the Fort Lee Library, and the Saturday Concert Series in the Closter Library, Ridgewood Library, and many other places. Ms. Lee is a director and founder of the Music Tree studio in Harrington Park and New City NY as well as a faculty member of the Cresskill Summer Music Program in Cresskill High School. Ms. Suji founded a non profit organization, “Pro Sono” in 2018 which grants monthly concerts to various nursing homes and hospitals and shares Ms. Suji's students’ talent and love with the community.
Avoid this teacher, waste your money and your kid will not learn anything from her.

Ms. Suji is a wonderful, caring teacher, who really looks out for the overall musical experience your child will encounter. My daughter's love of piano and music as whole has enhanced because of Ms. Suji. I highly recommend Ms. Suji and Music Tree Piano Studio for anyone looking to start a lesson in piano. Your child will love playing the piano!

Suji has been teaching my daughter piano for 5 years. Not only is she an amazing teacher -but she is fair and works well with parents and our crazy schedules. She pushes my daughter to work hard while finding fun and creative ways to keep her interested in playing.
"My piano lesson is always a highlight of my week! It's a fun challenge that I enjoy preparing for. Emil's teaching style is unique; he makes his students
laugh and takes us far beyond just learning the notes. From the very first lesson Emil shares his knowledge of classical music history and stresses the importance of nuanced musical dynamics, which many teachers unfortunately tend to neglect when teaching beginners. Don't hesitate in taking lessons with him, no matter what your age or skill level may be!"
"Slava is more than a great pianist - he is a versatile musician and lovely human being. You will learn a great deal not only about technique but also abou
t the composer's background and the piece's historical context."
"I had fun doing a demo for her piano promotional video. Tamari also gave me excellent practicing strategies as a beginner violinist. She is passionate abo
ut music and teaching."
"let me just say i was so impressed by Katarina, she is very good. I had another piano teacher but Katarina really impressed me. She is excellent. I am al
l about the teaching as a parent so i really love the way she thought my daughter. highly recommend."
"Excellent teacher who has been training my daughter in classical piano for the past 3 years. Anahit has an incredibly vast knowledge of piano repertoire,
technique and performance. She has gotten my daughter active in the Certificate of Merit program of California and understands how to properly prepare students to achieve high marks in all aspects of piano study. Highly recommended!"
"I started taking lessons with Luba when I was 7 years old, and stayed with her for over 10 years (until I left for college). Now, despite no longer takin
g piano lessons, I still find great enjoyment in playing piano, and I attribute my love and knowledge of music to Luba. Luba's piano lessons were truly invaluable. She believes in a holistic approach, and understands that it is important for a student to be able to tackle a piece both technically and emotionally. She patiently goes over music theory, delving into the whys and hows of composition, helping her students understand the piece technically. Her explanations and demonstrations on the techniques with which to play a piece were clear and informative, and with practice I found my technical skills improving substantially. However, unlike many other musicians I've met who have mastered technique but failed to apply emotion, Luba ensures that a student is also able to connect with the music. She encouraged me when I chose to learn pieces I liked, and guided me when I struggled to emotionally connect with certain composers. She also taught me the value of practicing (which many children dislike doing, myself included at the time), and gave advice on how to actually practice and improve. With Luba, I consistently received a grade of "Outstanding" (the highest grade level) at the Music Educators Association's annual audition, and placed in numerous piano competitions around the state. I went from barely having any knowledge of music and piano to being able to both learn and sight read complex pieces. It's so satisfying for your efforts to pay off and to finally reach a level where you can pick any piece and know that you have the skills to learn it and play it well. Without Luba, I would not have reached such a mastery of piano and I am extremely grateful for all of her help over the years. Luba is a fantastic piano teacher and any student would be lucky to take lessons with her!"
"Richard is a great teacher. He really helps me improve my listening skills. I would recommend him to anyone."
"I really enjoyed my lessons Yumiko. Sadly, I have to move to another state. I would highly recommend her."
"Thanks to Viva, my daughter, age 13, absolutely loves playing in front of people- in her school, at church, talent shows, competitions etc. Viva's taught
her the art of performance. I'm a very satisfied and appreciative mother."
