From Heavy Metal to Rock and Blues...learn power chords, lead riffs. how to use effects and more! Electric guitar works in every musical genre and will make you feel like a Rock Star!

About Marie
I am a classically trained guitar player who ventured off into a variety of styles such as Blues, Jazz, Rock and Open Tunings. The greatest thing about being a teacher as well as a performer is that I am able to recognize and hone in on your natural music skills and teach you how to incorporate them into creating your own style of playing.

I’ve been teaching guitar since 2006 and enjoy finding the time to help my students move forward through all levels of learning and always keep it fun! I studied music and theater at Hunter College and The New School Guitar Study Center and have performed with some of music’s greatest players. I was mentored throughout my career by the late great Hugh McCracken one of the music industries greatest producers and top 100 guitar players and also had the pleasure of performing with the late B.B. King,
Wyclef Jean, Dr. John and many more. I have written and recorded songs for Off Broadway, Film and TV as well as teacher/consultant for many actors behind the scenes for networks such as WARNER BROTHERS, NBC, ABC, NETFLIX, HBO AND SHOWTIME.
I produced and recorded an Internationally successful CD titled “RESTLESS ANGEL” released in Australia and have been reviewed and featured in several top music publications such as PERFORMING SONGWRITER MAGAZINE, AUSTRALIAN MUSICIAN, AUSTRALIAN GUITAR, BEAT MAGAZINE, AMAZON AND MODERN DRUMMER. I can teach and play just about any style of guitar with specialties in Electric guitar, instrumental fingerstyle, Blues, flatpicking, fingerpicking, lead guitar, open tuning's, slide and Dobro.
My style of teaching is unique and includes traditional and non-traditional styles of theory, rhythm and ear training combined with various styles of muscle techniques that I’ve developed in order to reach notes and not get bored and tired! I believe that ANYONE can learn guitar if they have the drive and desire. I'm a kind, motivated and patient person and my teaching style is straight forward, focused and fun! I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your musical dreams and goals!

I was certain It would take a long time before I would be able to play a song on the guitar.. Marie Gabrielle, the famous “Restless Angel” blues guitar player and singer- songwriter, who occasionally opened for B.B. King, proved me otherwise..After every lesson I was able to play a song, and understand enough theory to use those principals in other areas of my music.. I was creating, and writing, and playing and right away...oh what funnnnnn...Marie Gabrielle is a super talent and makes you feel like one too..any chance to spend time with her and learn your way around a fret or two is a real treat.. run, don’t walk... magic Indeed...

I am a recent Berklee College of Music graduate living in Chicago. At Berklee, I was the first rock/metal guitarist to receive the "Jimi Hendrix Award." This award is given to the best guitarist at the school. I've played and studied many styles of music ranging from classical, traditional, blues, country, rock, and metal.
Besides teaching, I have a passion for songwriting and performance. Here in Chicago, I am currently playing with various bands and writing my own music. My teaching style is very "goal-oriented," and I will teach students to set short-term goals, medium goals, and then demonstrate to them how reaching the short and medium-term goals leads to accomplishing long-term goals. I envision teaching much like my teachings at Berklee where once my lesson was finished, I only wanted to go home and learn more. If you want to learn multiple styles from someone who is truly passionate about the instrument, I'm your guy!

About Michael
Hello, my name is Michael! I have been playing guitar since I was 10-years old. Aside from being a teacher, performer, and songwriter, I would define myself as a "guitar nerd" because I love every aspect of playing. I still practice every day and have an insatiable hunger for new opportunities to play and learn. I have an encyclopedic knowledge of metal, rock, blues, country, and guitar. In my spare time, I enjoy writing music and playing more guitar.
I graduated from Berklee in 2017, where I received the Jimi Hendrix Award. This is given to the best guitar player in the school. I was the first rock/metal guitar player to do so! I received instruction from world-class teachers such as Joe Stump and Norm Zocher.
Besides teaching, I have a passion for songwriting and performance; while in Boston, I played and recorded with the melodic met
al band Black Trip. With Black Trip, I was fortunate enough to open up for such bands as Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Rhapsody of Fire, and Doro. Here in Los Angeles, I am currently teaching, playing with various bands, and working on my band's debut album.

Mr. Sylvester is one of the greatest. He is not just an amazing guitarist, but he is also very kind. He treats people with so much respect. He speaks to me and my mom so nicely. He is very patient. He has a deep knowledge of music and knows how to get the most out of even the least talented people (like me!). He doesn't ever get mad if you make a mistake or forget to bring your music notes. We were so lucky to find Mr. Sylvester.

Mark is a talented musician who plays and teaches multiple stringed instruments. His lessons are always informative and supportive. They are driven by the student’s interest, so anything you want o learn— styles of music, how to do a particular technique, music theory— you can bring to class. And every now and then he organizes a recital— terrifying but great practice!

Hello there! I am a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a degree in jazz guitar. I've played in more bands than I can remember, and have been a professional freelance musician since the age of 16.

I am adept at all contemporary styles, can teach you jazz improvisation, rock improvisation, comping styles of the greats, really whatever you want to learn I can show you. If you are getting ready for auditions I can help with that. Basically I'm your go to guy for most things guitar. If you want to talk pedals, ask how a guy gets a sound I'm your guy.

I have a "music is easy" mantra that really goes to say that all music can be broken down and simplified in concrete ways that make it conceivable to anyone.

About Blake
Hello there!

I'm 25 and a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a degree in Jazz Guitar performance. I currently work full-time as a freelance musician, I play in wedding/corporate bands, jazz groups, hip-hop bands, funk bands, pop bands, original music projects, and I also run a hip-hop/jazz group. I'm a funny, easy-going guy and I want lessons to be fun and inspiring. With that being said I definitely like to set and accomplish realistic goals with my students, cause why not be the best you can be, right?

My teaching style follows the "Music is Easy" mantra. Basically, I look at it as my job to take the intimidation factor out of music, and let it be what it should be, FUN! It's not to say we won't be learning theory, or getting our skills together, but it is to say that we'll be taking all the fancy lingo and breaking it dow
n for you in concrete practical ways.

In terms of what I teach that really runs the gambit, I teach most styles of contemporary guitar playing, and additionally can teach voice as well. I also have taken extensive marketing classes at the University of Rochester, which means that I can offer some key advise on music business and marketing strategies for your band. I also run my own booking agency, so if you want to talk shop on how to get gigs, which avenues of gigs make the most bread, and other things of that nature, I'm your guy as well!

Hope to hear from you and start some fun learning together!
