I started with Peter when I was 13 years old and continued taking weekly lessons until I was 19. In those 7 years Peter helped take my playing from an intermediate level to a near expert level. Our weekly meetings ranged from just learning new songs, music theory, or just jamming over backing tracks we would create. Peter is knowledgable in every form of music. In our years of lessons we enjoyed playing classic rock, blues, jazz, classical, and gypsy jazz. Peter was able to walk me teach me through the beginning levels of Music Theory.

Most importantly through our 7 years together, became was able to take me from a very shy musician to someone who was very confident on stage playing at different bars. Peter went from being a teacher to a very close friend as he helped me grow. Although I do not take lessons with him anymore due to being away at college, I keep in touch with Peter every time I am home.

I would highly recommend Peter to anyone at any level guitar playing. He has the patience someone needs if you're just starting out and the expertise to help take even some of the best players to the next level.

I've been working with Brian for four months now and have made excellent progress on guitar. Brian quickly adjusted to my experience level and has done an outstanding job of removing long-standing bad habits and reinforcing the good ones. He has a fresh approach which ensures students don't get bored and, best of all, instills confidence and a good stage presence. I'm on my way to being a better guitar player but more importantly, a better musician. I recommend Brian without reservation.

Are you a self-taught beginner or intermediate guitar player who is looking to take their skills to the next level? I'm a self-taught guitar player myself, and I've also taken a few lessons here and there and have learned the fundamental music theory needed to make guitar as enjoyable as possible (without forcing tabs or sheet music).

Half the battle is knowing what you need to learn, and the next step is finding solid guidance to help you apply your knowledge to the music you want to play.

I enjoy seeing people improve their skills and unlock their potential through understanding of the fundamentals of what is needed to play on your own, in a band, or just to be able to create your own music. Reach out to learn more and perhaps we can schedule a free lesson to see if this would be a fit!

About Lawrence

Guitar should be fun - whether you're playing with friends or practicing I'm a big believer that the most fun happens when you learn how to use your ear to hear what you want to play. This way you can learn and create songs all on your own without tabs! I've learned how to keep it simple and to ex

I've been taking lessons from Adam for about 3 years now - He is an amazing teacher! I took lessons before when I was younger but I quickly lost interest. I decided to get back into it later in life (I'm 35 now), but I still struggled to find the right teacher. One was too serious and the other was too relaxed and I felt like I wasn't actually making any progress. With Adam I got the best of both worlds! I was getting better at the guitar, and at the same time I was enjoying myself throughout the whole process. I'm still taking lessons with Adam and I would recommend that you do the same!

I took jazz guitar for two years from Adam. He’s a great teacher and excellent musician. As a former “cowboy chords” guitarist, I jumped from 5 to about 15 chords in a few weeks. Adam is patient and lots of fun. I still catch some of his gigs when I’m back in NYC.

All music lessons at WCGA combine solid instruction in music fundamentals with the student’s personal interests and goals. Guitar students will learn chords, scales, terminology, and technique along with note reading, chord progressions, and theory. Teacher duets are common in our lessons to develop listening and timing skills. Our guitar teachers make sure every student understands the fretboard in order to execute challenging melodies and riffs along with chords that are suitable for popular, rock, jazz and other styles of music. Teachers craft each lesson to incorporate the fundamentals of guitar playing with the personal interests of each student.

My two boys ages 8 and 9 started taking piano lessons with Nick about a year ago and they love it! He is very professional, always on time, and keeps them entertained the whole time! Although they are progressing at different rates, Nick is always patient and encouraging. I highly recommend Nick and his teaching abilities!

My two daughters have been taking guitar lessons with Nick for 2-1/2 years, both on acoustic guitar and electric guitar. He has even taught my younger daughter how to play the ukulele. Nick is an awesome guitarist teacher. My girls have learned so much from him - how to read and write music, bar chords, strumming patterns, music theory and all different genres of music (like jazz, classical and even reggae). Nick can listen to any song my daughters want to learn, then immediately put the notes down on paper and teach it to them. Under his tuition, they’ve performed solo gigs, in their school talent shows, and for and with their friends. My older daughter also plays electric guitar in a teenage rock band. Thanks so much, Nick!!

"I have been taking lessons with Eric for almost three years and I would highly recommend him to anyone thinking about taking any kind of music lessons. I initially started with blues guitar lessons because I wanted to be able to play my favorite songs or maybe impress girls. Over the years Eric got me interested in so much more.

I learned music theory, jazz standards, improvisation, fingerstyle techniques, how to play and sing at the same time, and how to write and record my own songs. He inspired me to take on piano as a second instrument, initially through him but eventually through classically trained instructor.

What started as basic guitar lessons for a potential hobby turned into my tiny apartment becoming cluttered with musical instruments and audio recording equipment. For this I only have Eric to thank."

A Fun Blues Guitar Exercise to Get You Started

If you're familiar with blues chords and ready to start trying your hand at some riffs, this exercise from guitar teacher Samuel B. will help you get the ball rolling... As an instructor (and blues guitar afficionado), I'm keen on you developing a working knowledge of the blues.
