Book NowEvery student has their own way of learning, and I will find that way! The beginner is brought through the traditional, classic method. But then I branch into modern styles, helping the student to find an original voice and perform music that resonates with today's listening audience. Together, we will explore American music that brings the intermediate and advanced student to understand blues and jazz improvisation, as well as composition.
About Paul
Motivation to practice is the key. Working with the parents, I like to make the lesson fun for the student, while getting the student to work hard and to keep them focused on success. Both current and former students and their parents are eager to provide references. I've taught all ages; in mu

Book NowI believe that voice lessons are for everybody! Through voice lessons, we form valuable mind-body connections, gain confidence, and blow off steam. The ability to express is a valuable life skill, as is thinking creatively, and singing lessons cultivate these skills. Through singing, we grow as people, and become more in touch with ourselves and the world around us.
I have experience teaching all ages, from young beginners to advanced collegiate performers. I have taught a wide variety of styles and genres, including classical, musical theatre, jazz, pop, and rock. I believe in teaching holistically- using the whole body and mind in sound production

I have my Master of Music in Music Theory and Composition from New York University, and I love teaching theory! Music Theory can be taught within an instrumental lesson (voice and piano) or in a lesson by itself. If you've never liked it or been able to grasp it before, it's time to change that!
Beginners will master fundamentals such as note-reading, keys, time-signature, rhythms, intervals, scales, chords, and harmonic progressions. Intermediate to Advanced students will build on these skills and learn part-writing and score analysis (both tonal and atonal). Private lessons are an excellent compliment to music theory classes taught in schools, especially for any student who needs outside tutoring.

Natalie is a NYU and BMI Workshop trained composer of songs, musicals, and concert music who has helped many songwriters find their voice and fine-tune their skills. She is particularly adept at identifying what is keeping a song from working (whether it be music, lyrics or both) and helping writer

I have taught Flute and Recorder over a decade in both personal and classroom settings. Several of my students have gone on to achieve gold medals in their solo and ensemble contests, and place within the IMA music competition.
Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play a stronger, more supported sound and as time goes on you'll be able to expand your range beyond what you thought possible. I specialize in working with beginners, and have experience working with students new to braces, as well. Typically, I use the Rubank Flute Method book in addition to your school's band books.
As far as what age to start flute, I am firm in starting a student no earlier than the spring/summer before their 4th grade year of schooling. This is not to say that a child could not begin learning music earlier, but the arm length required to play flute is necessary to achieve success.
For recorders, I use various method books and pull from many additional pop song books as well. ...

As parents, we see a big improvement in our daughters' piano playing skills. They even practice on their own, without us telling them to. All thanks to Dr. Spranza."

I described the problems I was having at my first lesson with her. she gave me some physical exercises to relax the muscles in my shoulder and neck. this helped. then she listened to my singing. Ceste developed vocal exercises based on the physical problems. I was frustrated at first, but using the techniques greatly helped my singing.
I have taken voice lessons before; one of the things that I think is great about Ceste is that not only does she explain the exercise, she illustrates it which makes the lessons much easier to do.
I expect to continue with her in the fall."

First lesson experience for my daughters was very exciting. Both my daughters are very excited to learn more in the upcoming weeks."

She's very patient and she explained everything clearly to me. Thank you, teacher!"
